I was watching a Saw film, and in one scene, a character is forced to pull out his wisdom teeth. It made me check the back of my lower jaw to realize that Dr. Ravi had actually removed all of them from my mouth. Thanks to him, my braces journey has been a lot more smoother, and so has my oral health. I remembered the months before I had my lower ones removed. I remembered eating eggs and hash browns at my school for its breakfast program, and the eggs, hash browns, and ketchup would get stuck in the lower wisdom teeth parts because of the flaps, and it would make my breath stink af. It would also worsen my oral health a bit even after rinsing it out. I would also love to thank Dr. Ravi for making my wisdom teeth appointments at an appropriate time because when he removed my upper ones, they were on a school weekend and they were a breeze to deal with in the aftermath. But with the lower ones, the authorization came out at the appropriate time after I graduated from high school. So that means I can lay in bed all day long and recover. I'm also glad that Dr. Ravi and this business was near my house so that I can get my lower wisdom teeth, which were burdensome, removed so that I can enjoy my life more easily. Came here a few times, Emily always performs at her best. She's attentive and gently on every step. Receprionists are good too. In contrast, the Vietnamese female dentist with glasses ( in her mid 30's) is so RUDE as always. I believe she is in her early carreer. She has a long way to improve her skill, especilally her attitude. To work in medical field you should learn how to treat patient right. If you don't , you should change your carreer. DON'T WORK FOR MONEY only since you do not fit in. Please do not bring Vietnamese working maner to the US. Remember, tons of doctors out there they are must better than you in term of knowledge and well- behave. I had Vy as my dental hygienist and she was very kind. I feel as if she was very thorough with my cleaning, always asking me if I was sensitive or not and making sure that I was not in pain. She also clarified some questions I had about staining on my teeth. I definitely recommend her and this place for cleanings! read more

Just "filling" you in... Just because the service is covered by medi-cal they won't give you options or let you have a say how you want your teeth/dentures to look. The stitching they use after teeth extraction is not dissolvable yet they don't remove it either; they say it will fall off...what about the stitching in the skin, is it going to stay in the skin forever and is it edible?? Just terrible... Called ahead and provided insurance info to verify if accepted for my old mother who's in pain. The Viet receptionist said good and appointment date. Drove 30min there on appointment date. Greeted by Viet receptionist and gave us the clipboard. And told me to call my mother's insurance if ok or in network. Calmly I called my mother's and 25min. later they confirmed NOT in network! Burning fire inside I calmly walked out with my mother and took her home. Horrible place, when I called to schedule an appointment I asked to see an endodontist. On the day of my root canal I was not aware the dentist was NOT an endodontist just a general dentist who decide he could do a root canal on a complex tooth. He ended perforated my tooth and breaking the file leaving a piece inside my tooth. He failed to mention he perforated my tooth and only mentioned the file had broken due to my tooth being curved. I went to another dentist since it had been 2 weeks after my root canal and was in pain still and had sensitivity to even drinking water. That other dentist who is a ENDODONTIST was the one who told me my tooth had been perforated and I need to get it extracted since there's no way to save the tooth! And that I now also needed another root canal for the adjacent tooth! THE FACT THAT HE FAILED TO MENTION MY TOOTH WAS PERFORATED AND SENT ME HOME SAYING EVERYTHING WAS FINE IS HORRIBLE! NO ACCOUNTABILITY! Mistakes happen but BE HONEST!!! I been requesting to speak to office manager and all she said was she was "sorry root canals take time to heal". I had all four of my wisdom teeth extracted here, and I recommend it. I'm from the 805 and I'm frightened of anything involving pain. I waited three months till I was left with only numbing shots and no sedative offer...the sedation would have not even been needed because I didn't feel anything at all. After calling multiple Endodontists accepted by Medi-cal, I learned that they ALL require a 3D scan for root canal, all priced between $300-$600. Brookhurts Dental was the last one I called and I was ecstatic to learn that they don't require the 3D scan for treatment, so I scheduled the appointment. However, after doing a google search, I was concerned about all the negative reviews so I called in to ask if I had anything to worry about. The woman I spoke to on the phone said something along the lines of "We get a lot of patients, and we can't make everyone happy..If you want to keep the appointment, it's up to you." Needless to say..I canceled the appointment. My review is for the unprofessionalism on the phone, as well as a warning to future clients. I want to point something out to those who are considering dental work from this facility. ALL other Endodontists require a 3D scan for a root canal, and the only one that doesn't (Brookhurts Dental), has hundreds of 1 STAR reviews. Clearly, they are doing something wrong. Endodontist typically require a 3D scan to ensure that they do not miss any tooth decay during clean up, and extraction. I was in a ton of pain and desperate to get this out of the way so I considered just getting it done here. However after I saw a review from a client who after getting work done here..she found out that tooth decay was missed and had to undergo a 2ND ROOT CANAL. I understand tooth decay can be painful, but please be mindful that you get what you pay for. Or in this case..you get what you don't pay for lol. In closing.. I was referred to this dental office by my primary dentist. I had to have my wisdom tooth extracted. I was so nervous and apprehensive for two weeks before my appointment, but I was absolutely pleasantly surprised at the skill of these doctors, the cleanliness of the office, and the amazing customer service.Dr. Raffi is truly a miracle from God. Not only did I not feel the lidocaine shots or have any side effects of the epinephrine since he gave it to me in stages the extraction was painless, and even after the numbing wore off, I did not need any pain medication. There was no pain. This was probably one of the best dental experiences I've ever had in my life and I've had many. This place is a hit or miss in service. Had a health scare and didn't appreciate that they didn't communicate the findings nor could they give me further information on what they had found. Took a long time to be seen by the dentist that had performed the procedure and by the time he saw me he spent 5 rushed minutes answering questions regarding the findings. In addition he had stated that a different dentist would reach out to me regarding procedures and 2 years later that has yet to happen. Last time I was in it took over an hour with an appointment to be seen for the dental hygienist and at the end I walked out because it was taking too long just to get a cleaning. This place overbooks and overcommits and at the end let's you down. The front desk staff was kind to me and for them I give this place some stars. If you have no other options then come here. This dental office is amazing. Beginning at the front office, the girls are super friendly and efficient. They make you feel so welcomed and explain everything. I was nervous, having to get root canal, but Dr. Pham Was so personable, and made me feel comfortable right away . I was so impressed with his work. I felt very comfortable barely experienced any pain. His assistant was amazing. She was very efficient in very nice.. the best part was I went home and I had no pain. I took 200 mg of Advil and I don't even think I needed it. Avoid if you can. Had a very bad experience back in February. I came in as a new patient for a root canal. With no primary dentist, you would think they would offer a general exam as well to assess any other needs but they did not do that. First visit: took X-rays and a dentist (dr. Tan) saw me for less than 3 minutes to confirm I needed a root canal and to schedule with the front. Nothing else, short and rude attitude. Second visit: had the root canal but was not satisfied with the experience. The dentist (dr.phan) had NO bedside manners, did not tell me what was going on through each step, did not check to see if I was ok or uncomfortable. The dental assistant was blowing her nose throughout the procedure, then took forever to take imaging of the root canal before someone else came in to take over the imaging. She came back to put in a temporary filling and left a lot of filling material that would chip off for the next few days. There was also NO aftercare instructions. They just said you're done go see the front. Third visit: the temporary filling they did FELL OUT 2 DAYS later! Called to ask what to do and was told that was ok and it was temporary. It was now an open hole in the tooth! I'm pretty sure that is NOT ok especially since I had to wait 2 + weeks for the crown. I kept pushing that it was not ok and they finally agreed to see me that day. The dentist( younger male, last name ngo?) was VERY RUDE. When I brought up my concerns he just kept saying "it's temporary" like yes I know it's temporary but it shouldn't have fallen out 2 days later!! They finally agreed to fill it and when the dentist came back to say I was done I had to ask what I could do to avoid it falling out again and he once again kept saying "it's temporary".. eventually he said "well it depends on how well/dense they packed the filling" then proceeded to check it and say that it could be packed more. He took over packing it again but was HOSTILE the whole time grumbling to himself, aggressively ripping packaging open, and tossing tools onto the table/floor. He also did NOT give me aftercare instructions. Fourth visit: I had to call to see the status of my crown approval. The office never followed up with me and I had to call the office when I got the letter that the crown request was denied. The office lady said "oh I don't know why medical always does that, I can request it again." Finally when I did come in for the crown it was the same RUDE dentist (younger male) that redid the filling. He splashed water everywhere and raised his tone at me because "apparently" I wasn't biting down correctly for the crown impression? Fifth and last visit: came in for the final crown placement and the same RUDE dentist( younger male) did it. I got my crown and left with again NO aftercare instructions. Overall the office staff/dentists were SHORT TEMPERED, RUDE, UNWILLING to help until pushed by me, UNPROFESSIONAL. Never coming back. read more

They charge you for procedures that medi-cal covers already. Therefore, they are committing insurance fraud because they are charging you for procedures that are actually free. I told Kim the assistant manager that medi-cal covers the PFZ crown, and she stayed quiet. They charge 100 dollars for a PFZ crown, even though medi-cal covers it for free. Please be aware the Medi-cal covers PFZ crowns for free. The girl who took my X-rays had to do it over 20 times. That makes me feel as if though they are not certified. The doctors don't even explain or answer any of your questions. They took longer taking my x-rays than the doctor evaluating me. On my second visit, I met with Tina the treatment coordinator for every question I asked she said, "yeah, yeah, yeah". That makes me feel like she doesn't care and that she doesn't know what she's talking about. read more

Booked two appointments for me and my wife . We came in, and they told me I had to do a deep cleaning due to cavities. That was fine. I booked a future appointment. My wife was fine though and just needed a regular cleaning. They told her she had to come back another day to clean it. Why would you book appointments and not be able to clean the teeth on the same day??? Sounds super inconvenient for the patient. Do NOT let the general dentist do your root canals. If you can wait for their specialist, please WAIT. Even better, find anywhere else to do your work. I was convinced their dentist was very qualified to still perform it as I'd have to wait an extra month for the specialist and I have had a root canal before that wasn't so bad. Let me tell you, at this place, I could feel practically everything they were doing and it was so painful. They didn't seem to care at all and just continued on. I trusted the process... The assistant also dropped something on my chest 3 times.. (tools??) After all that, I went to a different dentist (for crowns) that was recommended to me and they tell me the root canal was not done very well and I'd have to get it redone .. what a nightmare. This office handles Medii-cal I think they figure that you are stuck with them so they don't care about customer service. I will add that the doctors (dentists too) are I had a root canal scheduled and after ten changing my appointments several times, they told me that they never received the referral from my regular dentist and don't know which teeth they are supposed to work on. I know my dentist emailed the order. I was standing next to the office girl when she did it. They wait until the day of my appointment t with me standing in the office to tell me something like that?? She said she never received email. I had to contact my dentist at 3:30-4:30 in the afternoon, and get the referral/order sent over again. I had already request that they re-send it because I didn't have the hard copy. Three times it was sent before they finally said it was received. Today I went to the pharmacy to pick up the antibiotics BrookHurst had ordered for myself and my husband when I picks them up I noticed that we had the same prescription. Very odd since my husband is allergic to penicillin. I informed the pharmacist (hopefully he put that into his file ...again) and called BrookHurst. A very young male answered the phone and responded only with "yes, yes, yes, yes.... When I explained the dangerous mistake they made. He didn't really understand but told me he would talk to the doctor. I also texted them the issue to their message number. I'm still waiting for a response to my calls today. If you got any works done at this place. I would recommend getting the work checked by another dentist. One of my friend recently got a check up from another dentist and found that this place did a chop job which has led to an infection. The current dentist has to re-cleaned and fix their work.
