I would never have found this shop if it wasn't for the reviews here. It's located off the main…read moredrag so you might miss it if you aren't looking. This is run by a couple, who according to the owner Patrick (who was manning the store when we were there) they aren't artists themselves, but they seek out artists from all over. There is a wide selection of art from sun catchers made of wrapped colored stones, and paintings on wood to vegan leather purses and wood turned pens. We stopped here and purchased a painting my partner wanted and then returned to pick up my purse before returning to the shuttle bus. I just couldn't leave without buying it. I'm sure if we had more time, we would have spent more. Bar Harbor has lots of tourist stuff. If you are looking for that special item to take home, check this place out.

Bottom Line: A lovely building with whimsical and interesting merchandise and friendly staff…read more The Little Mad Shop relocated to Rodick Street in a striking, Victorian-ish building, about a year ago in 2022, I think. The store features unique decor, jewelry, accessories and home items. I spent the most time looking at colorful local artwork, sniffing a variety of perfumes and eyeing up some lovely leather goods. While I didn't buy anything I certainly appreciated the friendly staff and the variety of whimsical an quality items for sale.

There was a huge variety of items, from local food, soaps, candles, hats, shirts, toys, housewares, and other wonderful things to remind you of your time in beautiful Bar Harbor. I also found the prices to be pretty on par with the rest of the area. I am enjoying my treasures now that I have returned home. I also appreciate the reusable bags they gave out. I've added those to my stash to grab instead of plastic. Thank you, Acadia Country Store, for a wonderful experience!

Bottom Line: A quaint store in the "Acadia Shops" family more geared towards gourmet foods,…read morekitchen stuff, and housewares but also selling plenty of souvenirs. The Acadia Corporation owns and runs eight different individual stores in the Bar Harbor area that collectively are referred to as "Acadia Shops." This specific review is for the quaint Acadia Country Store. Because the Acadia Corporation is running many stores in Bar Harbor stuff really starts to look the same from store to store but the Acadia Country Store seemed to have a bigger focus on consumables like Stonewall Kitchen jellies and syrups and homemade fudge. Drats, I should have gotten a photo of the fudge display. Anyway, I enjoyed looking at kitchen stuff like cookie cutters and Swedish dish clothes while the hardwood floors quaintly creaked underfoot. I skipped the souvenirs since I'd already perused the same items at many other stores in downtown Bar Harbor.

They even delivered the flowers to the funeral home so early so that everything was set up when we got there. Thank you for taking care of a detail for us so we did not have to worry about it. I highly recommend this florist for their care and professionalism.

Add to that, the arrangement was even more lovely than the photo on the site, and it's an easy all-star review for me. I called in the morning to see if they could make a delivery that afternoon of a somewhat elaborate funeral arrangement. (I should note that it was the week before Christmas, when I know florists are exceptionally busy.) Not only that, we requested a dropoff at a friend's home because the funeral was at a community hall the next morning that did not accept flower deliveries and we'd be arriving too late the evening before to make a pickup. Not only did the floral designer jump on the phone -- unprompted! -- to discuss details of the arrangement, but the driver later called to confirm address info before dropping off. This is really above-and-beyond customer service in my experience of making many such floral orders. (Too many funerals recently but also some happier occasions.) I come from a family of florists, which I did not disclose on the phone, and know that it's rare to get such good help and such a beautiful arrangement. I wish I'd taken a better photo of it to post here. The family of three stoic men took it home after the memorial, the only flowers they made an effort to keep. Thank you for giving them that solace on a very rough day.

There's really nothing too special about this shop, but every time I visit I find myself here at…read moreleast a few times. It's definitely nostalgia-fueled. I can remember coming to this shop ever since I was little. The smell of pine, the touristy yet awesome items. Sure, they've got the same stuff that 90% of the other shops have, but something about this store for me is different. They've got every blueberry, Maine, Acadia, and Bar Harbor item you could need - clothes, books, souvenirs, home decor, and more spread out over two floors. I think this store probably has the most stuff out of any store in the downtown Bar Harbor area, but because of the size of the space it's not packed in like at some other shops. Prices are high, the items are touristy, but what do you expect? It's all about the nostalgia for me.

I found a few items for myself, my mom, and my daughter inside and the staff were very friendly. We stopped in here a few times and I saw a few different people working behind the counter and all greeted us immediately and were friendly. Make sure to stop in here while in town - it's got more than most of the other shops when you take it all in.
