My daughter and her best friend a few years before our sweet fury friend passed

We had such an amazing experience with them and found our forever pet of ten years through brooklyn animal action. We now live in nj suburbs and our sweet angel of ten years just passed away but we are already considering brooklyn animal action for Our next best friend as Although we are much further now we hope to find another super special and unique friend like our sweet girl was. They are great!

I am so happy with the adoption services at Brooklyn Animal Action. It was my first experience adopting, and Claire was so helpful with providing all the required information necessary and guiding me through the process. The process was seamless, and very simple. The kittens were fully vaccinated, microchipped, and they were Spay/Neutered. The spay/neuter is worked into the adoption fee, so there was no stress in working out the logistics of finding a location to offer that service. We are in love with our kittens, and they have made such a great addition to our home. They were fostered by a lovely family who cared for them very well, and that has made their transition into our home that much easier. If you are looking to adopt an animal, I would highly recommend going through Brooklyn Animal Action! They were truly great.

Do you want to get this kind of email for absolutely no reason?

You do NOT want to deal with these people. They lied to us about the age of the cat we adopted, saying she was 1 when she was 7. Claire, who dropped her off, is extremely rude and aggressive. She has sent us continuous rude, harassing emails when we had extreme issues with the cat, even though they say they will help if owners need it. Then, for absolutely no reason at all, Claire sent us two emails accusing us of abandoning the cat (which we still have) on the street--see photo. They adopted out a sick, older cat who they pretended was a healthy kitten. The cat is sick, but the people at BAA are worse.

I first adopted from BAA over two years ago to add a sweet tabby kitten to our home. Since Covid-19 hit, I noticed my tabby was getting bored of me so I decided to reach out to BAA to see about potentially fostering cats to see if she would be open to friends. Long story short, our foster tuxedo kitten quickly turned into an adoption. Claire made the adoption easy because she recommended to us a tuxedo kitten based on his personality, knowing that my tabby is playful but sensitive to change. Claire was so thoughtful about making sure my home was safe and welcoming to my cats. I would 100% recommend Brooklyn Animal Action to anyone looking to adopt or foster, knowing that they are going to get a serious, thoughtful experience to make sure that potential pet-owners are not only ready to adopt but also have their animal thrive in their new home.

PLEASE be careful when you adopt from this group OR GO ELSEWHERE :( I am usually not one to write reviews and generally give the benefit of the doubt, but this upset me so much that I need others to know what happened. Long story short, they "forgot" to include health information about the cat I was given and I had to look through the (sparse) vet info myself to find it, and was then guilted about returning a cat that I was not ready to care for. I saw one of their cats online and thought he was really cute, so I applied for him. It's worth noting that this cat was listed as Felv/FIV negative. Also relevant is that a cat of mine passed away recently. I got through the whole process (to which they were very nice, albeit a little scattered) which included a virtual home visit in which I had to open all my closets + show screens on windows, and reference calls that included asking about my financial situation and general ability to care for cats. A little invasive, I thought, but worth it if I'm getting a cute cat, right? I was also reminded throughout this process that he was FIV/FELV negative. While in conversation, I was told that the cat had a chicken allergy, which was also not listed on his listing (only that he was on specialized food). I signed the contract, paid $200, and went to go get the cat (because his allergies wouldn't bother me! ). The next day, when planning to take him to my vet to get him situated with me, I finally had a chance to look at BAA's provided vet document (which was sent AFTER I paid/signed the contract). It was very sparse with no indication of age despite the listing stating he was 'young', which concerned me. I then noticed he was actually FIV positive! I asked his foster if she knew about this, and it turns out she did not and BAA did not tell her. I asked the rescue group via e-mail, and was told by Claire, that she "FORGOT" to include that information, but that, quote "It wasn't actually a big deal, more of a stigma than anything," sending me a resource. This and the subsequent conversation I had with her on the phone, however intentioned, came off both patronizing (as If I don't truly understand the nature of FIV) and guilting. Included in this conversation was her stating that "other vets are jerks" and "the only real risk for FIV+ cats is that they are a little more susceptible to dental disease." I wanted to return the cat given that I had stated multiple times to people in the organization that I just lost a cat and I am not currently emotionally prepared to take on one with a known health issue that I WAS NOT TOLD ABOUT PRIOR TO ADOPTION. *Note: The listing of the cat is now updated but I do have proof of it beforehand along with all documents provided to me. UPDATE. They changed his name to Pancake, which is the name I gave him (Pan when I got him, Mr. Limpy before that). This will be the third name change for him to date. That is VERY suspicious.

    BAA car snoozing.

Brooklyn Animal Action are absolutely fantastic and my experience with them has been nothing but positive. I've adopted three beautiful cats from them at this point, the last one just as recently as September (picture attached). The process of adoption was made incredibly simple but also there was always someone to talk through any questions I may have had. The support and care that Brooklyn Animal Action offer to both animal and prospective adopter is second to none. It can not be overstated how well run this volunteer organization is. Clare and the crew do exceptional and vital work in providing safety and wonderful lives for these cats at every stage of their rescue. They are making a huge difference every day for animals in our borough. It's remarkable and I highly recommend adopting through BAA

I've had a wonderful experience adopting through Brooklyn Animal Action. Like many people, I decided to adopt cats during Covid and I was pretty nervous about how the process would work with every step having to be virtual. As it turns out, I shouldn't have been nervous at all - the home 'visit' was simple and informative - and pointed out some issues that I wouldn't have thought of. The foster was happy to answer all of my questions about the kittens and facetimed with me so I could see them 'in action'. The kittens are well socialized and healthy and BAA took care of scheduling their neutering appointments so all I had to do was show up. I take them to my own vet and BAA provided all of the documentation that I needed for proof of vaccination and their medical histories. My guys are the best thing that could have happened to me and I still shudder thinking about them out on the street trying to survive. Thank you BAA for saving them.

Cost: Open Squash FiDi has a special program for newcomers. If you are interested in playing the sport, Open Squash will make it happen. Open Squash FiDi has the best coaches. Here are some of the coaches I have taken lessons from. Amr: Amr is known for his precision; he can direct the ball to any spot on the court he desires. His remarkable skills extend beyond the game, as he can shape any person into the squash player they aspire to be. He focuses on teaching you how to utilize your strengths while simultaneously transforming your weaknesses into strengths. As the former Egyptian National Coach from 2017 to 2023, Amr introduced Egyptian training methods to Open Squash. I have witnessed significant improvements in our juniors' squash skills under his guidance. More importantly, Amr also plays a vital role in helping juniors build their character. I recall an instance when a younger player, around 13 or 14 years old, was practicing with two older juniors, aged around 17 or 18. She appeared a bit frustrated during the drill. As soon as she stepped off the court, Amr praised her swing and noted some positive changes she had made. That encouragement brought a big smile to her face. She is not only learning how to play squash from Amr but also how to care for others, thanks to his example.  Amr is more than just a fantastic coach; he is an exceptional person, living up to his nickname, "Baby Legend." Adel: Adel is like "a good friend you can always count on," especially when it comes to women playing squash. She has a deep understanding of women's bodies and the changes they go through over time, such as during their menstrual cycle, childbirth, and aging. Adel is dedicated to helping women excel at squash by offering modified training and routines that strengthen their skills. Her coaching abilities extend beyond just women; I often see her interacting with junior players, adjusting their form, and creating an environment where they can genuinely enjoy the game. I also observe her training male players to help them achieve their goals in her clinics. Adel believes that everyone has their unique path, and she is committed to helping each individual become the best squash player they can be. Ciara: Ciara is the women's community manager who is dedicated to increasing access for women in squash. She often gathers ideas from members and designs various programs such as "Queen of the Courts" and "Women Only Camp." Her efforts make many women feel comfortable participating in Open Squash. Ciara is an energetic, fun, and compassionate coach, exceptionally skilled at working with young children. I often see kids gathering around her, hugging her, and treating her like a big Barbie doll. Despite the affection they show, the kids also respect her authority. On one occasion, I witnessed her discipline a child, calmly explaining the correct behavior. Her firm yet kind approach makes her the perfect coach for all young kids. Habiba: Habiba is known as the "Torture Queen." She pushes us to our limits during training sessions, leaving our bodies exhausted, yet we can't help but want to return for more. As our 3.0 team coach, she is dedicated to improving the squash skills of all team members. She frequently discusses the adjustments she plans to make and the areas she wants us to focus on, ensuring that we maximize our learning experience. One time, I received a text message from her at 10 PM asking for input on the proper training content for us. Yes, at 10 PM, she was still thinking about how to help her students. Talk about dedication! A former World Junior Champion, Habiba has brought her training methods from Egypt to our program. She trains multiple junior players and is especially recognized for teaching deceptive plays and advanced squash techniques. She closely monitors all her juniors and once told me that if they do not practice and follow the assignments, she will drop them from her program. She exemplifies "tough love." Despite the intensity of her training, both adults and juniors find her incredibly popular. I often see her joking with adult members while juniors eagerly gather around her. Everyone can feel her sincerity and genuine care for our improvement. We all appreciate her "torture" and "tough love". Open Squash FiDi has invited top college coaches and players, including Nouran Gohar, Gina Kennedy, Victor Crouin, and Hannah Craig, to host summer camps. In addition to the kids' camps, Open Squash FiDi also offers adult camps with top pros as well as an all-women's camp. If you are thinking of practicing a sport, squash is a great choice, and Open Squash FiDi is the best place to start. If you have already played squash, Open Squash FiDi can be your new home.
