The honey glazed donuts are sooo good and fresh. We keep missing the Boston cream because they sell out and don't make more but the glaze they continue to make all day. Also the eclairs were soo yummy too. They have egg sandwiches too. Pro tip, get a box and ask for the warm ones that just came out.

Nothing much else to say other than it's a pretty good bakery and it's been here for years! Surprisingly the dessert in the middle tastes better after having the after-taste. Same goes for the Baclava donut. The glazed is sometimes a little too sweet, but still good. Also, sometimes from what I remember the cinnamon and sugar could be greasy, but I haven't tried that one in a while. I've tried their sandwiches before as well and they're delicious. Service is awesome and everyone is kind. There are some tables of two to sit at near the windows.

Amazing donuts that just melt in your mouth! Donuts are incredibly soft! Plenty of other sweets Treats at this bakery! Honestly The softest donuts I have ever had! First time here and I will definitely be back in the future! So mad I didn't know about this place until recently! I have been missing out!. Donuts are delicious and always fresh. I always get a jelly and glazed donut when I come here. This time I got a raspberry crumb coffee cake and it was amazing. Staff is friendly and bakery is clean.

Love these donuts! Brooklyn Baking is located in the same plaza as an Aldi's and Burger Kings, as well as a Frankie's hot dogs. There's a lot of parking available. I arrived late, which u think was about 11 on a Sunday, and there was little left. No premade sandwiches, and not a lot of variety of donuts. But what they had was delicious! I had one sugared donut and it was a little chewy, light and fluffy, and so much sugar. I almost reached for another without thinking because it was THAT delicious! Definitely a local treasure.

LOVED everything we got. The donuts were fresh, light, delicious and had just enough flavor. We loved the lemon one and cinnamon sugar. The coffee cake was also delicious. Light with a crunchy topping. The prices were excellent. A great find in a strip mall.

The donuts are the best here. My brother and his wife bring us donuts from there. I haven't had a good donut like this in a long time. This is the only place I like my donuts from. I can't comment about the service or how the place looks like because I haven't been there yet.

Has there ever been a time where you felt like you cheated when reviewing a place because you knew how good the place was and knew that business had a reputation for being one of the best in the country for what they do? For me, this is that review. This place is ALL the hype! I live in the area, but I unfortunately never really get a chance to come here because I'm awake having to leave for work long before it's open, and it's not in the part of Waterbury I particularly come by too often. I have had these before, but it was always my mother bringing them home. However, today I finally decided to come and have these myself as I am heading to New Haven while typing this out, and today is the day I give this place a proper review. From the moment I walked in, you can tell how busy this place is, but also how welcoming the atmosphere is. And yes, for the Mr. Krabs people out there, we do go to a restaurant for its atmosphere as well as the food. But back on topic, you can tell that not only is it welcoming, it's also a place of history. The Bakers Table you walk by while in line is over 100 years old and it's worth taking a read into to get a sense of how this place came to be. You can buy bread here too, and I actually did buy a loaf because I had run out the other day. If you get the small rye, you will have to slice the bread yourself. Then we get to the displays, and it is so clean and fresh. This is further proof that this place takes great pride in what they do. As I perused my way through, I knew I needed to try something more than just the donuts, so add a chocolate marshmallow cupcake and the cream horn to my order please and thank you! Finally, it came time to consider my choices for the donuts. In the past I've had their jelly donuts, and they are best when you have them chilled. But the donut that was really calling my name was the lemon-filled donut. Wanna know why I wanted that one specifically? Because for me, you can NEVER go wrong with a lemon-filled donut. I prefer that to jelly any day of the week (nothing against the jelly here though, just a personal preference). I actually ate one of them as shown in the photo I took of it and it was divine! So yeah, easy to understand why this is on the list of best donuts in the nation. Between this place, the donut shop I went to in Grand Central last fall on the way back from a rave, and Rise Doughnuts located over in Wilton, it's tough to choose which of these three places I like the most. But onte thing I do know is that this donut shop is one of the best donuts I've ever had.

These are honestly my favorite donuts in CT. These donuts are addicting and one of a kind. They're soft and fluffy and SO good. We get these for a special treat but those calories are so worth it! I even made my husband get up early the day after our wedding and drive up 40 minutes to bring them for our guests for our after wedding brunch. Everyone loved them. The staff here is always great and so friendly. They've got breakfast sandwiches and cupcakes and other breads and baked goods. If you like, you can also have a cup of coffee and enjoy your donut with a friend as they've got a few small tables and chairs. A Waterbury staple! My favorites are the honey glazed and Bavarian but you honestly can't go wrong with any of them!

The softest doughnuts around. A box from this bakery never lasts long at home! The jelly with powdered sugar as well as the honey glazed are our top two favorites. It is an easy enough detour off of 84 to stop in to this bakeshop.

Okay the donuts are the star of the show here. They are soft like pillows! My boyfriend's favorite was the Bavarian powdered donut. I really liked the glazed and Boston crème. We also got a bacon egg and cheese which looks like they are premade? But I'm sure they still very fresh and recently made. The bread with the sandwiches was also soft. I will be dreaming about the donuts until I can return! Cute and clean place, love the little relics of the bakery's history and the staff was friendly.

This is my first time coming here. The employees were nice (Lauren was great) and they had a wonderful variety of cupcakes and a small selection for donuts. I got a pina colada cupcake and a honey glazed donut. The cupcakes were right inbetween being sweet and non-sweet. The donuts were more of a bread texture I wasn't the biggest fan but I would be willing to try other things here next time.

I stopped in today to grab donuts for my coworkers and was amazed. The smell when you come in the door is to die for. You can tell everything is freshly baked. I arrived at 8:30 and they were already running out of items...so the earlier you arrive the better. When I arrived at work to share the deliciousness.....the response from the team was epic. They love Brooklyn baking. I heard stories about when it was in its original location. So much excitement and joy came from these donuts. They are an institution, their quality is top notch and their service exceeds expectations. Need I say more?

In Connection I was surprised and intrigued when I saw a bakery with a familiar name to me. "Brooklyn Baking" clammed to be just a delicious and original as the Bakeries in Brooklyn, New York. I, as a true New Yorker needed to put that statement to the test. Inside the bakery and looking around I thought this place was beautiful. Nice vibe good atmosphere and wonderful staff on hand. They don't just serve desserts either. They offer breakfast items, pizza and other amenities. We only came for the dessert however. The young girl working there was incredible, she was friendly and helpful. The owner was also amazing. She talked about the place and asked us questions about where we were from. The environment and pleasantries were great, but I came to find out if they are representing Brooklyn. So I grab some items and took a seat in the crowded restaurant. First was the cannoli. I have to say that the cannoli was definitely worth them bragging. Next up was the Boston Cream. Yet again they definitely earned their strips with this spin on a cake doughnut. Last was the cheesecake, a difficult item to master in my opinion. And there in lies the problem. It was good, but not even close to our lower end cheesecakes. It was definitely worth the price I paid, but in New York "forgetaboutit!" Everything else was worth it, I would definitely come back. But no one holds the crown for cheesecake like New York cheese cake. "Brooklyn Baker" is definitely in charge in Connecticut. read more

The donuts are our all time favorite. Boston cream They are everything you would want in a donut. We have also tried some of the breads which are also great Not a fan of there cupcakes but I don't even look in there direction when donuts are involved so no biggie. read more

Man I wanted to hate this place only so it would save me gas from coming here so often but I guess I'm doomed. After a recommendation from a friend I had to take the trip and I'm glad I did. I ordered an eclair, carrot cake , 1 cinnamon donut and 1 glazed donut, half loaf of Italian bread and 2 sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwiches. Breakfast sandwiches were delicious the best part was the soft roll they were made with. The donuts were pillowy and soft and light and in all honesty some of the best donuts I've ever had. The carrot cake and the eclair were delicious as well and I would order them again in a heartbeat. The Italian bread was good as well but for me the donuts and pastries really stood out. I look forward to visiting again and trying some of the other offerings. I was shocked that as a bakery they don't make bagels but I guess if you do something well enough you stick with it. read more

Brooklyn Baking ... it's been around for many of our childhoods because it's that good. These are the doughnuts, rolls, breads, and pastries that you gave up when you caved to the convenience of one stop supermarket shopping. Go here and taste what a real bakery produces. Melt in your mouth pillows of delicious honey glazed doughnuts. True old fashioned style jelly doughnuts. Portuguese Rolls that many in Waterbury bought in large quantities for their family gatherings. They are that good. Italian bread crusty on the outside and perfectly textured on the inside for oil, butter or sopping up. They serve a limited menu for breakfast and lunch. Cups of coffee, nothing fancy. Lines can get long but move very fast. This place also has some of the friendliest employees in any establishment I have visited! They are tucked into the corner of the place that also has Frankie's. What a loss to the people of the Brooklyn Section of Waterbury but a gain for the rest of Waterbury with this newer location right off the highway. read more

Had to hit up #51 on the list of top 100 US Donut shops for 2022! The line was out the door but we'll worth the wait. The line moved very well with no issues. We sampled the donuts, hard rolls, cupcakes and breakfast sandwiches. Their donuts were soft and chewy, but not greasy at all. They are on the smaller side but they make up for their size with their huge flavor and goodness. The glazed melted in your mouth. The cinnamon sugar had just the right ratio of cinnamon & sugar and was delicious. The Boston Cream had just the right amount of filling and the chocolate frosting was yummy. Their breakfast sandwiches came on their homemade hard rolls and Italian bread. I had the bacon egg and cheese on the hard roll and I can say it was so good. My daughter had the BLT on their Italian bread and she loved it. The cupcakes we tried were also delicious. We will definitely be back. read more

THIS PLACE IS BY FAR THE BEST BAKERY IN ALL OF WATERBURY!! PROBABLY BEST IN ALL OF CT!!! Recommendations= Boston cream donut, honey glazed donut, bismarks!! (Yum!!), cannoli cupcakes, brownies... etc, etc. Breakfast sandwiches are also good!! Yum, yum, yum!! Really, everything that they make here is phenomenal! Homemade and fresh. Delicious breads and rolls too! Fig bars are good if you ask them to make ahead of time. Baker who makes them is only their on Fridays, I believe. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! read more

Best donuts in the area!! My favorite is the Boston cream, get there early because they seem to go quick! Staff is hit or miss- some are super friendly and some are super grumpy! This is my go to spot for delicious donuts and cupcakes! Very fresh ingredients along with a clean and comfy space and vintage decor makes this one of Waterbury hidden gems! Plentiful parking along with the acceptance of Apple Pay, google pay and android pay is an added bonus. I haven't tried the bread yet but honestly it smells amazing! The glazed donuts from Brooklyn Baking are truly one of the best (if not the best) I've ever had. And the best part is the price, less than $1 x donut. Recently, I had family visit from Florida and they were obsessed with the donuts as well. I have traveled quite a bit and being the donut fanatic that I am, I always find local donut shops and I must say, nothing compares to these ones. You can thank me later ;) read more

As a general rule, I don't eat doughnuts... unless they're from Brooklyn Bakery!! The doughnuts are so delicious and fresh. I have known multiple people who have had events catered by Brooklyn bakery just for the doughnuts!! They have a large selection of other pastries, too. I love that I can call ahead on breakfast sandwiches (bacon, egg, and cheeses to go!) when I'm in a rush to get out of town. There is ample seating inside and the service is fast and friendly. The best part is that the quality is so good and the price is still so affordable. They aren't pretentious or bougie. Quality place read more

This visit involved an asiago bagel toasted with cream cheese, a beef chimichurri sandwich that the baristas panini-pressed for me, and a Churro Latte. All 3 of these things were good to great. Really, this review is mainly a 4-star review in the way that a place I don't have much of an impression on would get 4 stars. I would need to come back for more things to decide whether or not a 5th star would be warranted. But the interior helps makes a strong case for that star. I was most impressed with the poem on display as I was waiting for my coffee. It's not a detail I've shared yet here on Yelp, but this visit 's prompt me to say this now. So fun fact about me is that once upon a time, I wrote poetry. Late sophomore year of high school and going for a few years after and starting in 2007, I wrote poems any time I felt inspired to do so. I once attended a poetry slam that was held by my high school later in 2007 when I was in the first half of my junior year, and boy was that a great experience! Seeing the poem on display, I am really starting to think about getting back into writing poetry. I just need to find a muse and inspirations. This is honestly a great coffee option if I want to start traveling anywhere eastbound towards Hartford and such. If you haven't been to Brooklyn Bakery in Waterbury yet, you're missing out! Their bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich is top-notch -- fresh, hot, and hits the spot every time. The moment you walk in, you're greeted by the warm, comforting smell of fresh baked goods, and the staff couldn't be friendlier. They always make you feel welcome and appreciated. Every time I go to Waterbury . I have to get my banana pudding fix at the Brooklyn Bakery at Reidville Bakery! I just need the small $3.50 size to feed my craving. I will go out of my way for this stuff...it is amazing. I have never even tried anything else because I can't get past the pudding! When visitors from Manhattan come I ask them to bring me a large container. Fortunately I am the only one that likes it so I get it all to myself! They have a few locations in the city. The donuts here are the best around! I can never go back to dunkin. The cakes and fantastic- my favorite is the butter cream. Everyone is super friendly except for one manager Joann who is always on her phone and seems to only be friendly to certain customers when she calls them honey. When I see her behind the counter ( usually on her phone) I hate to admit I walk right out and get my cake as sweet Maria's. But when she is not there- I get all my baked goods. read more

Brooklyn bakery had mind blowing Portuguese rolls, the carrot cake is very rich, the honey glazed donuts are top of the list, and the cupcakes are amazing because they are frostings not icing! Very good bakery. Everything is made from scratch so you can be sure what you buy will be fresh. A nice change in CT where good bakeries are few and far between. I ordered two egg sandwiches which were very good especially on the fresh Portuguese rolls. The donuts taste so good! Dunkin' Donuts are stale and processed tasting in comparison. We originally found the bakery because it was close to the party location in Oxford where his birthday celebration was being held. The lady that worked there spoke Spanish, very helpful and sweet. Space was very ample , open. There is a selection of pastries if you are looking for something different. They had different selections of Natas, fresh breads, some sweet , donuts, and mini cheesecakes . Unfortunately nothing gluten free except the mini cheesecakes that were crustless. Prices were great!
