Sausage egg and cheese on jalapeño cheese and onion bagel
    Nathan F.

One of the lesser known and standout bagel spots in the city! Authentic Brooklyn run and freshly baked bagels and your order cooked to order. Located at thicket i enjoyed the sausage egg and cheese on the Jalapeno cheese and onion bagel, one I've never tried before! I never noticed this place at thicket before but i will be back for the biscuits and other staples.

I finally got to try The Jessica fried chicken sandwich! It was a messy, but satisfying experience. A tasty spicy chicken sandwich with a lot of unique flavors that complement each other just so. Brooklyn Breakfast Shop has a ton of amazing looking food. I'll be back for more!

Hands down, a very delicious and very filling breakfast. My first time here and I will be back. I got the Jessica, it's fried chicken and a fried egg. The bun is very soft and light. The egg was fried perfectly. I didn't want it too runny, and he knew exactly how much. It was beautiful. Nice thickness of avocado, it wasn't slices, but it was completely creamy mashed either, it was a spread but with chunks. I love that. That fried chicken though. It wasn't greasy. It was lightly fried and not heavy at all. Juicy chicken altogether. I want to try other items in their menu.

Monthly specials: I ordered the top one.

I had been following them on Instagram for a few months and finally decided to give it a try. It opened at 9 and I arrived around 945 thinking I was there early enough. I got in line and perused the menu. The person in front of me placed their order and the girl notified us that they were taking a 10 minute break to catch up on orders. Okay, I can appreciate that. Luckily, I was the next person to order with about 10 people behind me. It was finally my turn and I ordered the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich that comes on a biscuit. The friendly gal tells me they are out of biscuits. 45 minutes in and already no biscuits. It was disappointing but I wasn't going to let it get me down. I ordered the monthly special: buttermilk chicken sandwich with all the goodies (and a fried egg) on a brioche bun. I waited about 10 minutes or so and it was worth the wait. (See photos) My only "complaint", if there really is anything to complain about, was the chicken to bun ratio. It either needs more chicken or a smaller bun. With that being said, the regular chicken sandwich from the menu comes on a biscuit and I think the ratio of chicken to biscuit would be a better fit. This was was first experience here and it won't be my last. Next time I will make an online order and make it early! Go check this place out! It was pricey but worth it!

Came here on a whim to grab a breakfast sandwich before I started the day and I'm so glad I came because this place was delicious. I got the monthly special with the brioche. I wish I got the biscuit but they ran out unfortunately. But this sandwich was absolutely delicious and worth the wait. Only downside is that they run out of food very quickly so by the time I ordered, there were a few things out already and I got there pretty early. Maybe 10am. Overall I will be back if I visit Austin again.

I loved the food here!!! We ordered a chicken sandwich and egg hash dish and they were both SO flavorful & delicious. The items were a big portion size but do not come with any side dishes so it is a little more on the expensive side but very worth it for the taste/quality. It is located in an adorable food truck. Ordered online in the morning and could pick up in 25 minutes. Highly recommend checking this place out.

On the flip side, the Shrimp Po' Boy I got at Strut & Dorothy was sensational. Usually when the Armadillo Den is packed out like it was last Saturday for the Spurs and Knicks Game 5 plus a World Cup Saturday, these food trucks parked inside are buzzing trying to get as many orders out as possible. Though it took a while to place an order with the huge line, once my order was placed, it was ready very shortly after. The guy running the truck apologized for the wait, which felt unnecessary because they seemed to be on top of it, but I appreciate the kindness and customer service nonetheless. Pricing is about what I expected for a food truck: $14 po' boy and $7-8 for fries served with ranch or bleu cheese. The po' boy with all the fixings was exactly what I needed to calm my hunger and nerves while watching the Spurs collapse. It wasn't the glorious night I wanted, but the po' boy was the bandage on the wound. RIYL: The most impressive seafood served in a food truck in Austin

The worst was the veggie sandwich (pictured). This was before I ate any of it. It was literally Swiss cheese, one slice of tomato, 1 piece of romaine, and a few avocado chunks. The menu said it would also have onions, but either it didn't or the amount was so small I could neither see nor taste it. I tried to eat the sandwich but it tasted like bread with wilted lettuce, so I ended up throwing it away after a few bites. The worst part was that it took 20+ minutes to get the food.... And you have to stand there and wait. They don't text you or anything. I love the Hive, but will be telling everyone I know to avoid this food truck. We got one taco that was decent. A bit dry, but fine. Granted, you can find a lot of tacos that are better than "fine" in Austin.

Tons of picnic tables, a big bar for drinks, and even a little fountain you can sit by. Great place to hang out. I ordered the smash burger. It was... fine. Not bad at all, just not in my top tier of Austin smash burgers. The patty came out in pieces, which happens when it gets smashed a little too thin. Totally edible, still tasted good, it just didn't have that cohesive patty feel or the crispy lacy edges I like. I ordered through the QR code on the table, which told me it would take about 30 minutes, but it was ready in 10. Not complaining, but it's always funny when the system just picks a random long estimate and then surprises you. Fries were adequate, nothing memorable. Service was okay. I asked for a side of their special sauce, and the guy looked totally baffled, like no one in the history of burgers had ever asked for sauce on the side. Someone else behind him finally said, "I think he means the Biggie sauce." Now I know what to call it if I ever return. Overall: decent burger, not amazing, but Armadillo Den itself is a great hang. I wouldn't come back specifically for this burger, but I'd happily eat it again if I was already there with friends.
