What a gem of a place this food truck is! Plenty of outdoor seating in front of the truck with pretty decent shade coverage. There were a ton of people there late Saturday morning, but we waited no more than 10 minutes for 2 The Johnnys. Holy smokes they were BOMB! Taking a staple food to another level! The Johnny has potatoes, cheese, bacon, and sausage with of course biscuits and gravy. Easily could've split mine, but my friend ate all three biscuits in one sitting! Extremely filling, so definitely expect a food coma if you crush all 3 biscuits! Honestly, probably will come back during football season because if I pick one of these up and veg on the couch, that would be a dream football-watching Sunday! Great stuff overall! read more

Our cashier tried to straight up input his own tip amount on my card without my consent. He didn't give me a receipt which was the first red flag. Saw my bank transaction notification and the amount was ridiculously high so I went up and confronted him about it. He then prints me my receipt and says "everything looks fine right?", as if he was trying to trick me or something. He tipped himself $6.50 and thought he would get away with it. Nice try buddy. NEVER GOING AGAIN. When I say poor customer service, I mean it. Dude was acting like a high schooler trying to be "cool" and then even tries to steal from me. Next time, be smarter and act kind while defrauding someone, you might get better luck at getting away with it. read more

Stopped here for a breakfast snack since the place had excellent reviews on yelp! Got a regular biscuit with vegan sausage, eggs and cheese. It was called the Hammer. The biscuits were moist and it was quite cheesy with chives sprinkled on the top but the vegan sausage was not it. There's too many great options these days for vegan sausage for restaurants to still to be using stuff that tastes like MorningStar. The service was quick although disappointed that he couldn't do just egg whites. And the ambience is outdoor seating with a cool funky vibe. I would definitely try it again just minus the vegan sausage. read more

Great food truck with even greater food!! We all ordered the hammer ($4.95) and for $5 it will fill you up. I like how they have the option of putting the gravy on the side or on top. The service was slightly slow but that's only because it was only one person- def worth the wait. The seating area is full of sun so it's such a good way to get in some fresh air. It lacked a little flavor/salt- but it makes up for it in the value, quantity, & amount. read more

I never considered myself to be a huge fan of biscuits, but my taste has certainly changed in the past few years. This food truck is so delicious. It's definitely a bit pricey for just biscuits and gravy, but you can order them however you'd like! Add some green onion, bacon, egg, cheese, and sausage. It's such a filling breakfast. There's plenty of parking and the workers are really nice! It's probably a good thing that it's so far from my apartment because I can see myself craving biscuits from here all the time. read more

Yum yum yum!! I still dream about Biscuits & Groovy, days after my trip to Austin has concluded! I came here as a stop on a brunch walking tour (we tried a total of 3 places) and this was by far my favorite stop! We tried the Gloria Gaynor and man was it delicious. The biscuits were perfectly warm and soft. They served as the perfect base for all the great toppings - eggs, gravy, bacon, jalapeño, cheese... love it all! Easy parking with lots of spaces. It's by another food truck (a taco one) as well if you want options. You can order the food at the QR at each table. Quick wait and they bring the food out to you. Lots of seating with some shade. Very hearty portions for an affordable price. I got the Donna which is a huge portion of biscuits, cheese, sausage, eggs, and gravy. It could probably feed two people if you're not that hungry. It's very heavy and might put you in a food coma later. The biscuits were very soft and warm, and the whole meal was covered in cheese. The portion size was generous, making the price point seem more reasonable. They were also liberal with the toppings. The sad disappointment was the gravy itself. Completely devoid of any flavor. First impressions: unassuming food truck in the parking lot of the pet store. Short wait to order and receive biscuits - big plus. Hearty portions (the three of us shared two orders and a dessert biscuit). Cute, shaded outdoor seating areas. Easy parking... You know since it's located in a parking lot. However, ultimately the food didn't do it for me. The biscuits were too soft, almost at an undercooked doughy consistency. Only the dessert biscuit showed some flaky promise. I ate a whole lot of great food in Austin and as I try and think of what the best breakfast I had was, I can't help but pick Biscuits + Groovy. This small food truck was not the ideal place to go Tuesday morning as it was super cold and it takes some waiting time to get the perfect biscuits and gravy, but boy oh boy, was it worth it! I ended up ordering what I believe was the best option this place had, it was biscuits and gravy with sausage, bacon, and cheese on top making it quite possibly the most mouth watering thing I had all trip. This meal was absolutely incredible and blew my taste buds away. The meat was cooked just right and it wasn't too overwhelming flavour wise. The biscuits were super moist thanks to the gravy and the gravy was absolutely delicious. Overall, Biscuits + Groovy was a five star meal and a 5 star experience. Sammie's has been hyped up on social media for a long time and I gotta say it's still underrated! I will gladly have Sammie's take the Pepsi challenge against red sauce joints in NYC/NJ etc. In fact, I've told friends and family that I am going to take them to Sammie's when they visit from there. We just had such a fantastic experience - everything..the vibe..the red light fixtures and the color of the booths and the floor..the service - our server was great..loved their outfits..really had an old school little italy feel to it. The food was much better than I even anticipated - as a guy who grew up on NJ diner mozzarella sticks, I have a high bar for them and these were magnificent. And seriously...taking the "everything's bigger in Texas" slogan and applying them to mozzarella sticks?! top 10 achievements of the decade. The chicken parm was perfect - well seasoned, proper amount of crisp..the basil on top...the perfect browning of the cheese. Also the lasanga was excellent..and best part - the leftovers..took it home and the next two days put them in a small cast iron and re-heated them..and the magic was right there in my hill country kitchen! Lastly and certainly not least - the cannoli...just look at the photo below..
