My husband and I have visited this place twice now and it does not disappoint! The first visit we tried the sweet potato breakfast hash and the bagel sandwich! Both were so tasty! I had been craving a quality bagel sandwich, and this hit everything I wanted! The egg had great flavor and the bacon was thick but still had a nice crisp on the outside. The owner Ryan and his wife are so nice and chatted with us for a bit. The goal is to keep all of the ingredients local, which is awesome. Ryan has us try one of the homemade biscuits which made us come back for a second visit today to specifically get a biscuit sandwich! The sauce is amazing on it and the pickles added a nice flavor to it. Definitely a new favorite weekend breakfast spot! We were excited to try the menu items made from scratch by the owner. We had our hearts set on biscuits and gravy (from watching the YouTube video where the producers introduce American food to kids in England - super cute, look it up). No gravy in the summer, unfortunately. I don't remember my grandparents ever having that rule.... hmmmm - but we are native Texans. We opted for a biscuit with an egg and sausage. We were hoping for a piping hot, fluffy biscuit, but it was cold, salty, dense. There must have not been any salt left for the egg - bland. The hashbrown fritters were ok, but I'd prefer a straight potato, onion, salt, pepper, crispy pile of potatoes. A swing and a miss. BUT, I do believe there is a passion for food in the owner that translates well into the other menu items. I think the bagel is probably good. We'll give it another try for sure. It's a nice area with shade, but next time, I'll definitely bring a little portable fan or one of those fly deterrent devices that look like shiny windmills. Full disclosure, this is a belated review of a 3 dishes I forgot I had till the pictures reminded me. The first, strawberry cream cheese stuffed french toast was amazing to my taste buds. I loved this take on the breakfast dessert like dish. No syrup was needed as the strawberries countered the bread. I do suggest a side of orange juice though because it is very creamy too. It is pan seared so you taste the oil seared on the toast, lightly caramilized edges with soft squishy bread. I definitely recommend this dish, though I imagine they've already switched up their monthly french toast specialty dish. I had the kimchi lox bagel sandwich. Loved how the pickled sweet vinegar crunch tasted against the spicy cream cheese. A big big portion of smoked nova on a crunchy extra toasted everything bagel. I know lox and bagel sandwiches, been my go-to for breakfast for years. They nailed the taste compliments on this. The kimchi mixes so well with the smoked nova it should be a normal staple dish. I mean this and a cup of coffed from the Stella Coffe truck right across the thicket is awesome breakfast. The 3rd dish I tried was the Fried Chicken and Biscuit. I had to put sauce on it when I got home because between the biscuit and breading on the chicken I had a very very dry mouth after eat bite. Which was not easy due to the tough chicken breast. The breading tasted a lil spicy. The fried egg on top was perfect, firm yolk, not rubbery, not wet and wiggly, perfect plastic like oozey yolk to soak the biscuit with. Each bite is a spicer than the last so you've been warned. I recommend all three of these dishes and will be back to try more dishes. read more

I swung by Brooklyn Breakfast Shop at about 11am on a Sunday and was pleased to see that they were busy and enforcing social distancing/masks. They seemed to be running out of everything on the menu and I was fortunate enough to get the last barbacoa sandwich. It was delicious! The bread was crispy but not overly toasted, the barbacoa was tender, and the fried egg on top was cooked perfectly. There is no doubt that I'll order two of them next time. read more

First of all the lady I ordered with was super rude. Then when I got my order and part was missing she said I ordered wrong instead of owning that she didn't get my order right. I got the sweet heat and the biscuit was cold, dry and falling apart. It tasted days old. The friend chicken was limp with soggy breading. Honestly it was one of the most disgusting breakfast sandwiches I've had and the horrible service made it worth never returning. The reason I rate 2 stars instead of 1 was because once there was a very friendly man there working the register which gives me faith in the kindness of this place. This review is for 4.5 stars. Gotta love a breakfast all day focused shop. Located in one of the best food truck halls in Austin, Brooklyn Breakfast Shop will most likely be the one with the long line in the morning and early afternoon. Every dish looks good and photographs well. Prices reasonable for a $10 or less meal, meaning you can get a bunch of little things and try the entire menu. They have a few fresh desserts like black and white cookies and babka (usually) and then savory items. They have a bunch of different types of sandwiches from fried chicken to sausage. Also hot seller sweet potato hash and healthier alternative like the avocado toast. The avocado toast was healthy with some tomato and sunflower seed for some crunch. Added the poached egg as one does and it was a beautiful red, even in a takeout container, and stuck together before popping it open. The bread definitely began to fall apart real quickly, so maybe avocado toast in takeout container isn't the perfect order here. Biggest downside of this spot are that they sell out early. Even at noon on a Friday, the sweet potato hash was sold out. But you can text in your order so that's nice to save your food and pick up later in the day. During the week, I bet lines are nonexistent, but on the weekend expect them to sell out by noon. I believe you can byob to the outdoor food park. Parking a little wild wild west, but should be room for all cars if you angle correctly. read more

Holy moly you have to checck this food truck out. I ordered the biscuit sandwich with egg, sausage, pimento cheese and pickles and my boyfriend had the bagel breakfast Sammy. The bagel was DELICIOUS it is so hard to find a soft bagel and this was that! I know this is a bold statement but I don't think I've ever had a biscuit as good as the one I had on my Sammy. It was a bit messy to eat so I grabbed a fork but it was SO SO GOOD. I think I just found my new favorite weekend spot! We will definitely be back. When I was a kid, my family used to vacation in Gatlinburg Tennessee. We used to go to a place and get the most amazing french toast. Ever since then I've been in search for a french toast that would compare and today I found that french toast at the Brooklyn Breakfast Shop in Austin Texas. Their seasonal "Pumpkin Cheesecake stuffed French Toast with Whiskey Caramel Sauce" immediately caught my eye as I walked up to the truck for the first time. I had never been there and the polite cashier offered up some suggestions, one of which was the french toast. I ordered. It only took maybe 8 minutes for my order to be up. At first glance, I was delighted by what I saw. Two hefty slabs of bread drenched in caramel sauce. I was nervous about the caramel sauce and it being whiskey flavored, but I dug in anyways. No overpowering whiskey flavor, perfect. The first bite was delicious. Everything you want from french toast. I had to go in for a second bite. This time with the cream cheese. This is it. This is the french toast I'd been looking for. That unattainable french toast dream that has haunted me since my childhood. I found it. Then came the doubt... Could it be? Could this be the french toast I had been searching for? Neigh, I thought. The french toast from my childhood was the epitomy of french toast to which no others could compare. This was simply a rouse created by a longing nostalgia that I would never be able to attain in my adulthood. I continued to eat. WOW. My wife and I had the pimento cheese, sausage, egg and pickle biscuit, and the bacon egg and cheese bagel. The biscuit was better than any Southern biscuit that she has every had. She even licked the container to get all the goodness. My bagel was extremely flavorful, and the perfect treat on a cold and rainy day. The trailer is in an industrial park, so it was a bit hard to find. However, we called the shop and we got great directions. Even the cooks slaving away cooking the food are nicer. Amazing food truck. It was a tad confusing to find since it's by a bunch of warehouses, but it's tucked away in a cute little nook with outdoor seating and a sand volleyball court where a team was practicing (kinda random but ok). Anyway, the sandwiches were AMAZING. They were out of the sweet potato hash I had my eye on, but it was fine because the biscuit sandwich was crazy good. FYI- There's a coffee food truck right next to it that is way overpriced and they don't just have regular lattes. They put butter and mct oil in it, which I guess hikes the price up to $8 for 12oz. It's all flavored, which is fine but mine just tasted like an overpriced hot chocolate instead of a mocha. It was tasty but I didn't finish it because it was too sweet. read more

I've heard great things about this place so we decided to try it today! We arrived around 11:45 I believe, we were greeted very nicely and were told what they were out of. (I recommend going early if you want to choose from the entire menu) luckily we were still able to order 2 bacon egg and cheese sandwiches on a croissant and then avocado toast with a fried egg. Let this be your warning, we waited about 40 minutes. BUT, we were literally the last order they had for the day. A ton of people ordered online so they were super backed up. The sandwiches were the best we have ever had, we did ask specifically for fried eggs (not a huge fan of runny eggs) so be sure to do that if you feel the same. The avocado toast was MASSIVE (see pic). It was better than 99% of any avocado toast we've ever had in a restaurant. Plus this for $10?!! This is the case of my experience at Brooklyn breakfast, I think is my third time ordering from this place, what I did different this third time. I'm in a Whole 30 Diet. So I went and explain that to Ryan (the owner/chef behind the scenes) and he said so what can you eat? I explained him and he made me a sweet potato hash with two FARM eggs those that are more orange than yellow in the center. And then I asked for vegetables.
