Clean, bright, and fresh - very inviting.

I loved this little nook. It's a small but neat and thoughtful place, light and sprinkled with fresh flowers. That's the backdrop for the Cafe's excellent bakery offerings and unique drinks. Go and try the Cafe for yourself. We bought a sampling of baked pastries, fried doughnuts, and quiche cups. I also sampled their cold brew concoction - a cold brew with club soda and a flavoring of your choice. I chose no flavoring, and was treated to an authentic cold brew - not just hot brew iced - with all the complex floral notes and complexity I'd expect. The effervescence was very subtle, and so added a balanced nuance rather than a carbonated explosion. Just delightful! Our purchases were served with a smile and a quick chat about the offerings and origin of Brooklyn Cafe, another benefit of patronizing local businesses. We not only ate well, but enjoyed a time and place in this art infused neighborhood. I'll have to come back to sample their beignets, and that alone will motivate me to return soon!

Beignets yummmm. Everything is made in house except for the bagels. I had the absolute pleasure of having our order of beignets being made to order right in front of me. I've always wanted to experience the deliciousness of a beignet. I'm so happy our first tasting was here at the Brooklyn Cafe. Christian, thank you for being the absolute sweetest. Your hospitality and kind soul speaks volumes.

I was unaware that there was an area in Wilmington called "Brooklyn", despite numerous visits to the city. But there are apparently some interesting businesses around the Brooklyn Arts Center. To include this charming cafe, which offers beverages and baked goods. The donuts are the selling point, and while some are vegan, the regular ones are delicious and very filling on the evidence of the chocolate one I tried. However, the star was a special matcha-based beverage with ube foam, which was an expensive beverage when ordered with oat milk but which delivered a sustained complex flavor hit. Distinctive, local options, and vegan-friendly. What more could I ask for?

Location: off the beaten path, this is a small coffee shop (small business supporter here!) Street parking but the road is not crazy busy so you should find something close by. There is inside seating and outside seating on the side. Staff: The owners are so friendly. A husband and wife team. The team behind the counter is super nice and accommodating. Very lovely stories. Food: fresh baked goods and little egg frittatas (I LOVED THIS). I tasted the biscotti and it was great! It is the husband recipe. There are an assortment of coffees and their main expertise are fried dough with flavors/dips. It smelled delicious inside. The coffee was very good! I have had a couple of the signature drinks in ice but the Irishman is my favorite. Learned that Brooklyn cafe doesn't stand for Brooklyn ny like I thought but instead it's the actual area name of Wilmington. Btw- their swag is cool! I lived the bags and tshirts.

Came around 7:45 AM on a Friday morning and parked for free right in front on the street. I was the only one there but more people soon came after. The female staff member was nice taking my order. Ordered a 12 ounce Cafe Au Leit with 2% milk ($5; they also have whole milk, oat, soy, almond milk), beignet ($7.75, 6 pieces), vanilla and chocolate doughnut (only cake style, $3.25 each), cheese and jalapeño kolache ($7.50), and a breakfast muffin quiche ($7.25). The best part I enjoyed was the quiche-it had tons of 2 different kinds of cheese and some small pieces of leafy greens. Coffee is from Java Estate, local and good. Beignets were made fresh to order so they were warm, doughy, crispy, and coated heavily with powdered sugar. Kolache was good, I loved the spicy jalapeños. Yeast bread was soft. Served warm. Donuts are from Ollie's and made with mashed potatoes. Only tried the chocolate donut and gave the vanilla doughnut to a friend. I'm generally not a huge of fan of cake donuts, but it was good. It tasted fresh, was soft and pillowy. Enjoyed sitting indoors in the comfortable chairs. Music playing was a little random from Upbeat dance to old school country Willie Nelson.

This place is awesome. They make beignets to order. I asked what they had in stock that was vegan and she said just the beignets, so I got them. She rolled them out and fried them right then and there. They were super delicious!!! I wanted to eat all of them but I would have gotten sick. She said they had to be eaten right away, so I regrettably had to share them. Will absolutely go back next time I'm in town.

Very cute place! Good oat latte with lavender. Beignets were great too! Excellent service.

    Vegan Beignet

What a gem! Super dog friendly as advertised. Owner and staff offers gourmet donut hole for dogs :) The London Fog is a uniquely tasty drink that truly impresses us. You can customize with Oat Milk too. Vegan Beignets available in additional to the regular. Plenty of outdoor seatings too. Highly recommend anyone who wants gourmet coffee and donuts... and their famous beignets!

Beignets were AMAZING! Better than many places in NOLA, she made them when I ordered! The outside is so cute, mural on the wall and very pet friendly! Cute spot for the hide that like good coffee and a vibe with

    Donut

We stopped here twice in one day because it was that good. The banana ball was so good and my daughter LOVED their beignets. Their frappe was the best she has ever had. The dirty hippie was my favorite drink. We had to grab one of their donuts as literally just staring at them is mouth watering. The staff is so friendly and welcoming we love the vibe of the entire place. This place is a must if you are in Wilmington and it's vegan friendly. Hands down best customer service and coffee

    A Willie Nelson wall!

Excellent offering for a small café. They take great pride in there products. Super friendly. It

    Kolache

It seems like everything is made fresh! The kolaches were still on the pan. Although, if anyone is looking for Texas kolaches these aren't it. These might be more traditional, made flat with cheese. Picture attached. Very yummy though! They have a variety and many things to choose from!

These donuts are truly the best I've ever had. The vegan donuts and donut holes are made fresh to order, taking only about 3-5 minutes. They simply melt in your mouth. We tried the lemon and vanilla donuts, and they were delicious! Their local coffee is also incredible, and they offer oat milk as an option. The customer service is outstanding, with the staff being both friendly and knowledgeable. I can't wait to try their beignets next!

We shared a bottle of Whites Bay Sauvignon Blanc. We mentioned to the waitress that it could have been a touch colder (we like it icy) and after pouring us a small glass each she took it back to the blast chiller to cool it down more. It came back cooler and we put it on ice at the table. One of our favorite ways of eating sharing small plates. We started with a dozen oysters (6 from NC and 6 from SC). They were very good and the sauces that came with them were a nice compliment. Next was a nice arugula salad with some goat cheese. It was perfect for the 2 of us. Then came the "mains". We had Octopus with polenta. Not tough or chewy and the polenta was a nice compliment. Mussels in a nice white whine sauce were nice an garlicky and the bread that came with for sopping up the broth was perfect. Final "main" was beef tartare with a marrow bone. My partner does not like marrow so it was all mine and it was spectacular. Finished the night with a mini creme brulee that we shared. It was served in a little demi cup and it was just the right size bite. Our table was on the 2nd floor and it was a great atmosphere. Even though it was full, the room was not too loud that we couldn't have a nice conversation. Here is the best part. Our server, Nikki, was one of the best we have had at any restaurant. A little personality, just attentive enough and brought out our dishes just as we had asked them to come out. Couldn't ask for any better. Was our experience cheap? NO but if you have a special occasion or just want to treat yourself go to Circa 1992!

The ambience was like a typical dive bar except it was huge, the most crowded bar I went to in Wilmington. My favorite part of this bar was the converted alley way area that was quiet and peaceful. We visited as part of a wedding party on a celebratory night, moving from our rehearsal dinner venue to Blue Post to continue the evening with the full group. What should have been a joyful occasion was marred by an egregious display of arbitrary authority from one of the front-door staff. Upon arrival, 2 members of our party were finishing their drinks outside, a common and reasonable practice before entering another bar. One individual finished his beer (which he set down outside on a table at The Ivy) and attempted to enter. The staff member at the door, who had visibly watched him finish it, refused entry. This was not about policy enforcement; it was the beginning of a clear power trip. Rather than joining the rest of the wedding party, our friend went next door to The Ivy, where he enjoyed a drink and danced for about 20 minutes. He then returned to Blue Post, was screened by two other staff members without issue, and was allowed inside. He was simply talking with friends when the original staff member sought him out within the bar and ejected him--for no discernible reason, no violation of any posted rules, and no disturbance whatsoever. The decision appeared entirely personal and capricious. For context, the bouncers at The Ivy (literally next door) were stunned when we recounted the events. They confirmed there was no law or standard rule being broken and found the handling of the situation baffling and unprofessional. They also saw him drink and set the drink outside, but had no problem with him entering their establishment multiple times. In an industry built on hospitality, especially in a social setting like a bar during a wedding celebration, this level of pettiness and lack of basic customer respect is disappointing. A single employee's ego should not dictate the experience of an entire group trying to celebrate together. We spent money at Blue Post and expected a night of fun, not an exercise in arbitrary exclusion. I would caution others, particularly larger groups or those celebrating special occasions, to consider whether this is the right venue. There are plenty of welcoming bars in Wilmington that understand how to balance reasonable policies with good judgment and basic courtesy. Unfortunately, Blue Post fell far short on this occasion immensely. I've heard many same sentiments about this place from locals.
