There's a lot of construction going on on the belt these days so traffic gets a little backed up but on the whole I like the belt parkway. the city has done good in expanding it and building it up and fixing repairs. I think whoever they are contracting two to fix the roads they need to get better quality product because potholes are reoccurring. And Thank goodness you don't have to pay a toll anywhere on the belt.

Shore Promenade (aka Belt Parkway Promenade) begins at the adjacent American Veterans Memorial Pier and continues the exterior waterfront edge of Southern Brooklyn along the Belt Parkway ending at Bensonhurst Park leading to Bath Beach and Coney Island Boardwalk. The view of the Verrazano-Narrows Bridge is electrifying beautiful. If only I were able to upgrade my biking skills up to par as the bike trail is lovely and calming to the mind and soul. This walkway and dedicated bike trail sits along the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-278) and Belt Parkway that resonate lovely views.

The perk of living in Brooklyn: this promenade! Why? 1) it extends further than the one at Battery Park (from Bensonhurst to almost Sunset Park) 2) there are large patches of grass so you can picnic or take a nap here 3) it's not as crowded 4) the sun is pretty big and amazing by Bay Ridge 5) it's quiet, even though you're practically neighbors with the freeway 6) the path is wide enough for bike rides, walks & runs 7) there are multiple overpasses you can take for entry/exit 8) it doesn't feel humid here during the summer!! 9) you can see Manhattan and the Statue of Liberty from the American Veterans Memorial Pier (the start of the promenade from one end) I'm hooked you guys.

So over the past year, I've been doing anything and everything to increase my physical activity including taking a lot of outdoor walks. Many times while driving along the Belt Parkway I would notice the path along side of the highway. I could see people walking, running, and biking. After seeing people enjoying this "park", I was determined to go check it out myself. I finally had the opportunity to venture over a few weeks ago. After my first walk here, the only disappointment I had was that I hadn't come here sooner. The path is clean and not too crowded. As I previously mentioned people come here to walk, run, bike, rollerblade, fish, or to simply soak in some fresh air. If you come between 4pm and 6pm you are likely to see cruise ships sailing by directly in front of you and sailing under the Verrazano bridge. This is also a prime location to watch an awesome sunset. I definitely recommend the Belt Parkway Promenade to anyone of any age. I definitely plan to walk here some more this fall and do lots of bike riding here next summer!

Verrazano Bridge during the evening. Beautiful.

The best place in Brooklyn to go for a walk, a run, a bike ride, or any other form of exercise. Certainly a place you can go for a date place. I usually run from the entrance of the American Veterans Memorial Pier to the Verrazano bridge and then back. That's a good run. Very relaxing. There are two sides to the promenade, a bike lane and pedestrian lane. Plenty of room for everybody, so no excuse to run into people unless you're not paying attention. The view of the Verrazano bridge is absolutely gorgeous from almost anywhere, but I think the closer you get the better the view. I think the best time to check the bridge is at night. It's beautiful to look at when lights are on. If you're coming by car you should stop at the rest area before exit 2 off the belt parkway east. That rest area is the best view in my opinion. One thing I do hate about the bridge is its $15 to go into Staten Island. Smh. It might as well become its own state. Other than that it's great to look at it. Just relax and enjoy the view.

The best place to hike and to find peace and quiet I usually start from Bay Parkway up along the belt parkway where they have now fixed and repaired most of the damage from the hurricane I continue up and crossover into Shore Pkwy Park hike through the park come back across to the pier and back down the belt parkway walk way to Bay Parkway once again total of about 12 miles great workout n peaceful. Wanna join ? Hit me up. I do it on weekends. N weeknights sometimes.

Awesome part of Bay Ridge thats been a integral part of the waterfront for decades. There may be the highway right next too the path but its a great view and nice breeze off the water. I have used the bike path and the walking path. But love the casual walking path better for the leisurely strolls. I mean the 69th pier used to have a boat landing. But that was destroyed and never replaced. What a waste of millions of dollars. Typical political system with corrupt officials robbing the public. But that aside the wild life is abundant here on the waterfront. I have seen sea turtles and terns diving in the water for fish. Also watched other birds diving down for food. Glad the water is not as polluted like it has been in the past. Well there is plenty of benches too if your not into walking or exercising Lol.

This park features an elevated walkway with Manhattan skyline views, a sugar factory-themed playground, sand volleyball and bocce courts, water features, and a taco stand. Moreover, this park has a gorgeous view of the Manhattan skyline and Wiliamsburg bridge. Parking is very challenging so it's best to take a public transit. As a first time visitor, I really like this park and its modern design. This park was not built when I was exiled to LA over a decade ago! Overall, I am glad I enjoyed this park and its stunning view. I highly recommend you visit.

Looked more like a museum or some nice walkway to enjoy sightseeing of the Williamsburg bridge and the lower east side views of Manhattan, which is not that spectacular in my opinion because there are too many government buildings in that section so it's all brown over on the Manhattan side. Oh wells. Other than that, I'm shocked to see nice bathrooms a block away from the park for Domino Park guests! The bathrooms were really nice and modern! Each bathroom had dimmed lighting with a baby diaper changing station. One of the bathrooms was dirty with pee on the floor so I had to go to another one. Did not expect these nice bathrooms to get dirty like that! There were more bathrooms downstairs besides the ones on the first floor. The door to the bathrooms was very nice too! What a great job they did to this park. I cannot believe the Domino sugar factory still exists or is standing because I used to take the train and they be doing construction for many years for I don't know what reason. Looked like they turn downstairs into this nice modern park. So I went to the park to go to a Target pop up and got some nice freebies. There was enough space for pop ups and large crowds. Need to check out the rest of the park next time I'm here. Too bad there is no subway or trains going to this park and you need to resort to buses that take forever to arrive.
