Wow. This was the most unprofessional party vendor that I ever encountered. I had to order some carnival items like the cotton candy and popcorn machines along with some high bar tables. The tables were OK but the carnival games were a whole other story. These are the times when I wished I could give zero stars or even negative stars. Don't be fooled by the general high rating! I spoke with the representative and he made me think that nothing would have gotten wrong. I was assured by his professional customer service but on the day of the event, everything went awry. The delivery men wouldn't bring our items to the 5th floor, speaking of an elevator fee that we didn't pay. Not once was that fee mentioned and the items came so gut wrentchingly nasty that me being a popcorn lover I don't even want to know whether or not people clean their machines. We had to clean the machines ourselves. At first the box of materials were not left with the rest of the items. When I did find it, I discovered that the box was just a ripped up cardboard box that had the popcorn oil all over it. Hey party rental thanks for not even providing us a full fledged box, you're too cheap to even give us a new cardboard box for our machine supplies. I kept calling the guy too because the two machines had the worst instructions ever. It might as well have said "put oil, put kernels". Where are the oil to kernel ratios? Good thing I'm more familiar with the cotton candy machine, but one of the heating knobs were actually missing. I almost set our event venue on fire with that dang popcorn machine, with smoke everywhere. Perhaps you guys should clean your machine before using it, so you don't kill yourself or others. The cotton candy machine had all this already burnt sugar on it and the bowl section was covered in dirt. After a while of calling the rep, I would say that he shut off his phone because it went to voicemail. Sorry to bother you, but if you guys did your job right the first time I wouldn't have had to reach you. For some reason also they didn't even pick up their machines next day, why would any event venue be okay with you picking up after 4 days later? The easiest rental company to work with! Was making a dinner party and wasn't sure how to set up to maximize the space. I called and gave them the dimensions of the room and they gave me the right set up! The tables & chairs were delivered the day before the event so I was able to set up early! Oh and the best part of the night was the cotton candy machine !! We served it as dessert for adults ... very well spent $150. I had such a bad experience here, they were wildly inflexible. They charged me to deliver and pick up the tables and chairs but told me only day of the time frame they would come. These are hours I told them I work so I need more warning to be able to have someone there. They asked if I could keep it in the lobby which is unsafe because it is a daycare center. They then said they would charge me an extra 50$ to just go up the elevator to pick them up!! On top of that when I told them I could for sure have something arranged for tomorrow they wanted to charge me another day fee even though I had told them previously what would not work for me. So I rented one of thier 'carnival' items.. Issue #1: From the moment I got a call from the driver asking if I had a hand truck and to meet him on the corner to pick up the all glass box popcorn machine, a red light should have gone off. I directed him to come to the entrance of the building. He was very hesitant. I had a cart, luckily, but as a delivery person..don't you have the vehicle to deliver the item? Hand truck, cart, another guy? Issue #2: Driver gave me instructions for usage on...the sidewalk. I had to hope and pray when the machine plugged in it would work. I ordered extra kernels to serve 200 people. I got a bag of maybe 5 cups of kernels. I asked it it was enough. He said yes. I paid an extra $150 for extra popcorn kernels so I took his word for it. What they supplied served about 20 small popcorn bags. I had to run out of an ongoing event to buy more at the grocery store. Issue #3: The machine was still oily and dirty fromt he last use. All the supplies, from the oil cup to the scoop..all of it was dirty. I washed the utensils as much as I could and wiped and cleaned the inside of the machine as best as I could. It was too late to rent from another place, so I had to make do. I told the driver on pickup about the kernel and lack of cleanliness of the machine. He said they would rectify it with a credit. They did update the invoice with a $50 credit that day. Lets take out $40 for the extra kernels I had to buy. So I really got a $10 credit. The manager phoned the following day to ask about the problems with the machine because they had to deliver this machine to another event and wanted to know what to fix. I was not in the office. They questioned a secretary that had nothing to do with the rental. They tried to also ask if we used 'butter' or something else in the machine. We kept saying no, but they kept asking. I called and left a message for them to discuss. No one reurned my call. I called again to and answering machine again. I finally got through after I left a message regarding payment. A girl called back asking rudely who called this number (??) and hung up when they were put on hold to be transferred. I asked for the name of the manager at least 5 times. I still have no name. Maybe it's the Great and Wonderful Oz, because they seem to get flustered when I ask. So I got a measly $10 credit, and put on a list of customers who receive 'discounts' for the next time I call. I dealt with this company two years in a row. I work at a school and was in charge of organizing two graduation events. The first time around, their customer service was average at best, arriving late for set up, and making a 2-3 hour set up, extend an additional 4 hours (7 hours to set up 3 tents). This didn't include setting up chairs, which they simply left tossed in a corner. Understanding that things sometimes happen and being a firm believer in second chances, i decided to give it another go. The second time (June 2017) around things were a disaster. I had ordered one 20x40 tent and two 20x20 tents. This 20x80 tented set up was to provide cover from rain and shade. The day before the event, they started the set up, arriving at 12noon, 3 hours after their expected time of arrival. Things got worse. The 20x40 tent, that was to be centered, flanked to the left and right with the two 20x20 tents was never put up. In fact, the company never informed me throughout the entire day that there was a problem. It wasn't until 7:45pm that the school custodian called me and informed me that the men setting up, simply packed up and left. They left the set up with two 20x20 tents up, and the 20x40 tent no where to be found. I frantically called the company, explaining that the graduation ceremony was the next morning. After about a dozen attempted calls, the head of the company picked up and said that a piece needed for the completion of the 20x40 set up was broken and they couldn't set it up. Furthermore, he said it wasn't his problem. In addition, instead of leaving the chairs under the tent (so we could set up the next morning), the men left them without cover, and after it rained all night, the next morning we had to not only dry the chairs, but unfold and set up. The experience descended into further chaos when the head of the company said he would not provide a credit for the 20x40 tent that was never set up. This company exhibited ZERO professionalism and customer service. They felt no remorse for the fact that they ruined a graduation event for so many parents and children. read more

I just used this company for a party I was having at my home - I rented tables w/ tablecloths, ballroom chairs in mahogany and a bartop table + barstools. Everything was delivered on time and the crew was very professional. The chairs were gently used (which is to be expected w/ a rental company) and in great condition. I was VERY happy w/ everything and the crew came back the next morning to take everything back! It was effortless for us. I found their prices to be in the mid-range. I had quotes that were both less and more expensive. I ended up taking a chance on them (b/c there were no reviews online) b/c they were professional and super friendly. Both other companies I had looked at had enough awful reviews online to make me question renting from them. I will definitely use BPR in the future when I have big parties!! read more

I was planning a large BBQ for my Fiance and I's birthdays. This was an important event being that we were leaving to Chicago a week later and wanted to use this BBQ to spend time with our loved ones. Brooklyn Party Rental was the first one to show up in my search for furniture rentals. Their prices were reasonable and their location was perfect. What could go wrong? Issue #1: I called for 6 days straight to get in contact with them to place my order. No one picked up, 5 messages were left and no call back. An e-mail was sent with the details and no e-mail was sent back. Fast forward a week. The event has already passed. I FINALLY get an e-mail with a simple "call to place your order." Obviously, whoever replied did not even blink once at the message I sent. They did not realize what day it was sent and what date the order was for. I used Brooklyn Party Rental for my needs related to a 185 person dinner in January. I did my due diligence and compared the prices from a few companies and Brooklyn Party Rental was by far the best value. Their delivery was only $30, for example. I was a little hesitant given their lack of reviews but their communication with me has been consistently prompt, and even included two phone calls on the delivery and pickups to let me know a more accurate delivery window once their overall delivery schedule was set for the day. I contracted Brooklyn Party Rental for an event and my experience was mixed. The items which I rented (tables, chairs and linens) were in relatively good shape, with the exception of 2 of the linens having had minor stains and the chairs some oxidation on the legs. Now, I didn't stress over this because what can you expect with rented tables and chairs. They will never be in pristine condition. My biggest dissatisfaction is with the lack of communication on behalf of Brooklyn Party Rental. I had to call them twice in order to get an invoice of the items I rented. Additionally, I was told that the items would be picked up on a particular day and time and when, I called to inquire as to why no one had come to pick the items up I was told that pick up was scheduled for the next day. As I explained the situation and how they had informed me otherwise the individual tried to place the blame on me indicating that I probably wrote the date and time incorrectly. The person I spoke with was unapologetic and did not try and remedy the situation caused by their incompetence. The person's solution was that I have someone else open the location in which the event was held (though I informed him that the location was not mine and there isn't someone on site 24/7). I can't attest to the quality of their rentals, but their customer service was wonderful. After going back and forth with them multiple times (because I kept changing my mind), they accommodated all my requests and refunded me completely (minus the cancellation fee) when I had to cancel my order last minute. i was running a fundraiser for the local cancer center, and i needed a bunch of items; tents, tables, chairs, tablecloths, dishes, coat check items.... we really had nothing and a very very tight budget - since were a non-profit organization. i called numerous rental companies who were highly over priced AND have an astronomical delivery fee!! the companies that i called also didnt have all of the items i needed, which meant that i would need to order from a few different companies... someone else on the committee recommended brooklyn party rental, being fairly new on the fundraising gala front i didnt really know much about rentals companies. the lady on the phone (i think her name was sara) was so patient with me, answered all of my questions, gave me some great advice, help me choose colors schemes... she really guided me through the whole thing. she was very understanding when i explained that we are a cancer center, who were on a tight budget - so she spoke to the manager for me and got a small discount (even though they are already cheaper then every other place i called), and only $30 for a delivery charge!! they delivered a day early at no extra charge so that i can set up with a clear head. the deliveries guys where very sweet and helped us get everything in the right places. (oh and did i mention how cute they were?!? i wonder if theyre single). the best part of it all is the clean up!! i didnt have to wash a dish!! they come and pick it all up for you! i would def recommend them to my fellow yelpers & use them for every event that i make. read more
