First visit here, and was super impressed! Reminded me of jersey mikes but cheaper and better! Which is saying something because I love Jersey Mikes. I got a half sub Italian with a side pickle and pure leaf tea. It was just $10 which I feel is very good. The sub roll was delicious and the cap ricola ham was really good!! Have been going to Brooklyn Pickle out in Syracuse for many years and was one of my go tos when I worked or was out in Syracuse. Was happy when I heard the Pickle was coming to Utica. Initially, I waited for the hype to die down and then kind of forgot about it. Was in the area quite a bit over the last several weeks and found myself at the pickle several times. Location is located in Bragg Square which creates a beautiful exposed brick restaurant. Staff is so warm and friendly. Dining Room staff member went out of his way to make sure quests had what they needed. Counter Staff were great as well ! Sandwiches are great and are loaded with meat and priced well. Fantastic "deli"! First time here since they opened and while I had heard many good things - I was super happy with my first time. The vibe is very industrial, but there is plenty of space and as you might guess a HUGE mural of the Brooklyn Bridge. It's clean, open, and not crowded at all. The service was excellent. Orders were taken and prepared quickly. Sandwiches were REALLY good. Fresh meats, really good bread, and large helpings. Second time in four days... this time I witnessed this restaurant experience their first technical issues in the new location. Online orders were showing as being ready for pick-up, but they never actually made it to the preparation stage. Owner Craig and crew did not crack under the pressure. Makenna got right to work making the sandwiches in my order after a few moments of looking for it in the system. In just a couple of minutes, my order was ready and free of charge - despite my protesting of a comped meal. I had to be one of ten at least experiencing the same bug at that given time. The team worked extra hard to get these orders prepared in no time. I'm so impressed with the food and service here. I have no complaints! You have to try this place! read more

Only 2 guys that just finished their meal, and a couple in front of me at the counter, 4 employees behind the counter that I can see. 3 employees are making 2 sandwiches (?), actually I think one was making the food and 2 were just watching, while the 4th was just ignoring me. Wtf is going on? How many people does it take to make a Sandwhich? How did they find people that need to watch a Sandwhich be made before they figure out how to do it themselves? About two weeks ago, my spouse and friend decided to try this place. Arriving about 2 hours before closing, we noticed them beginning to mop THE SMOOTH CONCRETE FLOORS. VERY smooth. If you have little or no traction on your shoes this is a genuine slip and fall hazard. Couldn't they wait until 15 minutes or so before closing and NOT 2 hours? Next, I perused the menu. Not bad but I figured there may be some supper options. None, but not a big deal. Noticed several items of interest, and said to the person waiting on me, "A shame you don't have a Reuben." Cheerfully, she said we do. Great! Ordered the Reuben. A reasonable time went by, was handed the Reuben, and immediately thought, NOT a lot of heat from this sandwich. Get it to the table, unwrap, and the 1st thing I notice is a white substance. MAYO on a Reuben? Steeling myself, I took a dab with my finger, and it at least TASTED like 1000 island. After a few bites, I realized it was barely warm, and the bread was barely toasted. Take the remainder back; talked to the supervisor or manager (never determined). I said the sandwich is barely grilled, only to be told, "We don't have a grill." HOW COULD A DELI --NOT-- HAVE A GRILL for GRILLED SANDWICHES!?!? WHY offer a sandwich, on or off menu, that SHOULD BE grilled and not be? Ask for a replacement sub. Mixed Italian. Wanted spinach instead of lettuce. NOPE. Went through a few other toppings, now forgotten: NOPE. HOW can a place holding itself out to be a deli be SO devoid of common sandwich toppings? You can get a MUCH better sub at Cliff's, Byrne Dairy, hell even Subway. Also, the toppings were hidden by metal covers, so judging freshness or what they had instead of guessing games was out. My spouse had chili so generic it may have been canned. ZERO zip to it. So between the attitude of management, the health hazard mopping, the GROSSLY disappointing food, AT BEST 5/10, we 3 will NOT be going back. 1 star but only because zero isn't an option. read more

Very clean looking and abundant seating with a mixed section to sit your own group if needed. The walk up and get served food line is speedy and very prompt cash or card. Sandwiches are the bomb and ginormous sized yum going back definitely!!!!! I'm a Californian and I'll be BACK!! read more

First time going here. Picked up corned beef sandwiches and cole slaw. Liked everything about the place -- except the food. Great parking, cool name, merch, nice staff. Was expecting great food... But those sandwiches, man-- corned beef should not be thin, shiny and rubbery with little flavor, this was slimy deli meat-- if you ever had real corned beef (Katz's in NYC, or even Pumpernickel in New Hartford) you would know the difference. Well, according to Yelp, three-stars is "OK." And "OK" is precisely how i would describe this sandwich shop. Nothing really bad about it at all, but it just does not stand out in any way, not with the food, or the prices. Just OK all around. About the one exception to this is that it is pretty fast. We went here for lunch on Friday, and it was so good, we came back on Saturday. Very much a deli, and same ordering process as the one in Syracuse. But, the location is great - right across from the Wynn Hospital emergency room entrance and it's cool inside: brick walls, wooden tables, murals, plenty of natural light from the large windows. The employees were friendly and so was the cleaning guy, who was singing while cleaning off tables and sweeping the floor. The place was very clean! Highly recommend. read more

Brooklyn Pickle will serve their corned beef and pastrami cold unless you request that it's warmed up. To me that is unconscionable. A true Brooklyn deli would have briskets of corned beef and pastrami in a steam table ready to be sliced to order. At the Pickle, they just toss the pre sliced meat in the microwave and boom, it's "hot." The sandwich I had was okay, not great, and a little messy, with the bread getting a little soggy and falling apart a little. The service was quick in spite of the noon hour rush. I took a look at the salads in the upright cooler but didn't purchase for reasons I won't go into now. The ambiance is busy and a little loud but once you find a seat the feel is laid back. Hey! the place is horrible, 3 times I have ordered the Brooklyn pickle sandwich and it's made wrong. no lettuce no onion no tomatoes and they put mayo on it once. I have gone to the one in Syracuse for 25 plus years never had an issue except the bread got thinner. You can get a better sandwich at Byrne dairy and a cheaper price. and the lettuce is shredded so thin it's always soggy. the owner is cheap! raise your prices but never change your food. read more
