First time in Lukins. There's three entrances - one in the pizzeria area and two in the bar area. First thing that struck me when I entered the bar area is it was very cool in there...and empty for noon on. Friday. Ordered a UC draft and it was good and cold. Grabbed a seat and waited for the fish fry (Friday special). Fish fry was good, served with fries and cole slaw. Drink specials listed on a couple large chalk boards and the floor looked like it hadn't been swept up lately - good food. Next time I think I'll order "to go". read more

This evening we enjoyed take-out from Lukins, one of my in-laws' favorite local pizza restaurants in the Utica area. We ordered a large cheese pizza topped with pepperoni, sausage and green bell peppers, as well as a small pizza with artichoke (unfortunately the anchovy we requested was not available). In addition, we ordered medium-spicy chicken wings, which are probably some of the best I've ever had. The wings weren't greasy from having been dunk in sauce, but had great, slightly spicy flavor. The pizza didn't disappoint. The large pizza, with heat from the meat toppings, was especially good. According to my father-in-law, the bell peppers are marinated in olive oil, giving them a better texture and flavor than the raw bell peppers often used at other establishments. Without the anchovies, the artichoke pizza was a bit plain. read more

Once again this place goes above and beyond on their food and service. Stuffed Long hots were excellent, their Fried Calamari which had a balsamic drizzle on top was also good. Our custom pizza - Chicken, Sausage, Chipotle Sauce, diced tomatoes, red onions, Mozzarella cheese knocked it out of the park combined with fantastic friendly service by Scarlett at the bar, made for a great late lunch early dinner for us this past Sunday (Superbowl). If you are in the area, this is the place for lunch or dinner. Nice Craft beer selection and great drinks/wine selection as well. read more

I am giving it a 5 star today. Excellent calzone and burger. One of the only places open on a Sunday evening. The beer was a little lacking on tap where we sat outside. This is a very average pizza. They have a good oven but when we arrived it was only running at 515°. Crank that someana bitch up already. It will make a huge difference in the crust. Sausage was good. Mushrooms were scant. Sauce is too sweet. Calamari was very good and the cocktail sauce was loaded with horseradish. Got an upside down pizza tonight, it was awful, sauce and cheese on only part of the pizza. A lot of crust that was not good.

Welp, being out here in the cold , I decided to get something hot. The wait was pretty long for my hot sub (Chicken Parm). One thing is that they give huge servings. Too bad that I didn't have much flavor in my dish and the chicken was pretty dry. The spotlight of my meal was the mozzarella cheese sticks and my fries. I think my party enjoyed their pizza. My friends and I are from Baltimore. We stayed in Utica for the purpose of visiting the Baseball HOF in Cooperstown, just down the road. We found Lukin's from a recommendation from an old Navy friend who lives in the area, and we met on a Friday night- had the wings and Riggies. The grilled wings were so good that my friends and I went back the following night for those and some pizza, which was also terrific. The service and prices were fine, too. Decide to try them out for a Sunday lunch. Was not disappointed. Sat on the bar side of the wall at one of the high tops along the windows. Games were on but not overpowering loud. Service was great. Loaded fries were awesome (real, fresh bacon, not Bacos or leftover bacon), I had the panini called the Mookie. Plenty of turkey, though I will say that the turkey could have been a tad bit warmer. Our first stop in Utica and this pizza was so good! I was expecting pizza that was just good enough for me to get down so I can start drinking, but I was most pleasantly surprised! Super thin crust and a semi-sweet sauce that was delicious made this pizza great. The wings were alright; the sauce was very watery which isn't my jam. (They also came automatically with ranch....what kind of upside world is this? If you want ranch with your wings, you're a heathen.) As a Vegan it's very difficult to find good vegan options. Not only did Lukin's customize a Vegan version of their garlic knots with marinara sauce, but they were very respectful and wanted to cater to my dietary needs. Kitchen jacked up our thirty dollar order, thank you for refunding our money. I wanted to give the food away to a 3 pack a day chain smoker bur could not find one. my husband and i were on vacation this past weekend, and came here for some late night to-go bites. we got a few slices- buffalo chicken with blue cheese, and sausage with hot peppers. both slices were delicious, and had a good amount of toppings. the toppings themselves were cut into very small and manageable sized pieces, which made for nice, consistent bites. we also got the risotto balls and meatballs. i thought both were phenomenal. your risotto balls are only going to be as good as the risotto you start with, and this one is fantastic. very cheesy and savory, they were beautifully fried, and topped with a little dollop of ricotta. the meatballs were also incredibly. we enjoyed the pizza, but those were really the standouts of our order. i can't speak to the nightclub action that seems to be happening next door, but if you're just needing some really great bites from a pizza joint, this is the ticket. read more

I was here last night (Nov 13) and after a few beers and slices of (good) pizza, ordered a club soda and a water at the bar for my parents. The waitress asked if I was a "faggot." Disgusted, I walked back to our table, asked for the check and left. Using the word "faggot" is never ok. People who have any lick of common sense or understanding in this modern world we live in know this. Calling a paying customer "faggot" is also (newsflash)..not ok. I felt sad for this small-minded, ignorant, unintelligent girl who probably has never been outside of Utica. But if Utica is going to continue its awesome renaissance, then people like this need to begin theirs. They have THEEE BESSSTTTT PIZZAAA. Its New York style!! Thin and crispy just how I like it!! They always have a variety of slices available. The seating sucks in the pizzeria.. and the girls at the front counter are pretty much clueless. The workers here VERY RARELY crack a smile. Had to work and my company's back up office on court street across from Varick St. so picked up a small pizza for dinner. The pizza is really good here and I like it a lot. One of the best in the area. Get some. And it is also fun to go out here when they have good bands playing. Seems like after the electric company closed this is the only place on varick that has good bands play any more. read more

Awesome atmosphere and great service. Was there to watch football on 9-11-16 and had a great time, only to return the following week to find out there was no Sunday Ticket. I could not have had a better experience here. I was in Utica (coming from the west coast) and looking for a nice place to eat late at night. This place was open so we are here. I had never heard of some of the things on the menu, such as garlic pizza. After asking many questions, the ladies at the counter gave me a sample of the garlic pizza which was amazing. They also have me recommendations for food I needed to try while in town, including more food I had never heard of such as chicken riggies which they did not have available at this time of night. We ordered a couple slices of pizza, made some new friends and the cook even made chicken riggies just for us! I have never had an experience like this before and wish I could go back for more! This pizza was unbelievable and we were stuffed for only a few bucks per person. Boy, do I wish I could get pizza like this where I live! I've been here many times and their food is ok. Many other restaurants in Utica are much better, but when you're hungry at midnight after having a few drinks it's a convenient place to stop by for a slice. So last night was that kind of night. There were 5 of us. Ordered some slices, wings and a buffalo chicken sub. Waited for 40m for our food, come to find out the waitress forgot to put our slices in the oven and the buffalo chicken was sitting on the counter in the back for the last half an hour or so. It wasn't even a busy night. Friday after saranac Thursday is usually a very slow night. Went up to ask about our food had to wait for at least 15m because she was too busy giving her number away to customers. Waitress name is Sabrina and she seemed to not care at all at the fact that she forgot about our food. Just went in the back picked up the cold sub and gave it to us with no apology. The service is absolutely horrible. The least Sabrina can do is apologized because we all know people forget, but nope she was rude and miserable!!! I also tried making a complaint and I never ever complain, but the manager also didn't give a crap!! read more

Went for dinner and beer. Used to eat here when it was Pasquales Pizza :) The long hots were yummy and go well with a cold beer. Lots of beer choices to choose from too. The group ordered pizza, a salad and a panini which were all really good. They even make home made chips which came with the panini. The place was relaxed and comfortable. They've done an amazing job fixing up the building! Maybe they'll add more seating as winter approaches, but otherwise, it's a great place to catch a meal, have a few drinks and visit with friends. read more
