Been using them for my parents house for over 10 years. They come and install the windows units every summer season. At the end of summer I usually call them to have them remove it so I can close the window. Yet this time I was cheap and didn't call them to remove the unit. During the recent snow storm we got major drafts coming in that made it uncomfortably cold. So I called Joe and he had his guys out here in a jiffy to remove the unit. Wonderful experience with BBCond. Their tech was prompt and very nice to work with! Thankfully this was just a clogged coil issue (and the tech even let me know I could clean it myself-- I chose to leave that to the professionals!). Total time between reaching out and having a working HVAC was less than 24 hours, and prices were very reasonable. They also have office support (which I appreciate). 2/5 - Unfortunately I'm having to drop my original star rating. I just had another HVAC guy in here - trying to fix the noise problems that Brooklyn's Best could not - who noticed that one of my filters was not changed. We paid Brooklyn's Best $1725 to change all of our filters, not just the ones that were easiest to access or most visible. On top of the issue with the workers not even noticing the vents were closed while they were performing maintenance on them, this job really much to be desired. **Updating this review again** 2/7 - Well, dropping a star yet again, because now this company is denying here in the public comments section of Yelp that they ever even worked with me. Rather than just admit the possibility that the guys they sent into my home (who apparently no longer even work for them, as evidenced in the attached screenshot) did a substandard job and maybe just offer to come fix the filter they didn't change, they're digging in their heels and threatening me with bad karma. Ridiculous and highly unprofessional. Screenshots attached showing a convo with them dating back to November about problems with the job, and more recently about the filters. At no point did they ask me to "provide proof of service," as they've stated here publicly in the comments, but instead have just been arguing privately with me about why I don't have a right to complain about this subpar job, making excuses for it and blowing up my messages to try to bully me into increasing the star rating.** **Updating yet again** WARNING: This company is now emailing me threatening to SUE ME. They are trying to gaslight me, but they most certainly are the people who arranged this work. I contacted them, they sent people out, then afterwards we got an invoice from a different company (Y'Air). When my husband asked about this by phone, we were given some excuse about the pandemic, insurance and paperwork. You can see Yair referenced in one of the screen shots from Brooklyn's Best. All of this work was arranged directly through Brooklyn's Best. I shrugged off the different company name at the time even though it seemed weird - but again, all of this was arranged through Brooklyn's Best. Now they are denying any involvement in the job and threatening me for defamation. This is absolutely insane and not ok behavior, and is bordering on actually being threatening and scary because I know they have my address and have been in my home. Brooklyn's Best, you cannot just bully people into five star reviews or silence. I'm confused. They came and fixed my AC unit. Now I need help with my other one for the same reason and they said they would come. They didn't. I wrote a message and they responded they don't do this service. So I'm giving a review of 1 star since they no longer service AC units. In response to you, Joe, I called prior to doing a Yelp request. I also contacted the guy who helped me last year as his number was in my phone. I'm a real person with a real home. We would not recommend them based on our poor experience working with them on purchase and installation of 3 window A/Cs that required 3 separate visits from them, hours of me waiting around and going back and forth with the salesperson (Joe). We had 3 main issues in context of their high end pricing for A/Cs and high installation costs. - the installation crew was not good, were in a hurry and tried to leave the job half done. For example, one of the new A/Cs was dented but they still wanted to install it. Fortunately I noticed and asked them of fix it. Similarly they tried to install a dirty pexiglass on the window - again I had to point that out to them and ask them to replace. - Bad quality control- they brought a lemon A/C with them and we had to schedule another installation date to replace it. - Salesperson who did not provide full details/options- Apparently, installation that allows one to open the window costs extra. We were never told that even though we sent them a picture of our current installation where one can open the windows. We only noticed the problem later when we tried to clean the windows. Now they are asking for more money to fix it even though we have spent few thousand dollars with them already. We would take off a star for each of those 3 issues, so landing at 2 stars. I can't say enough good things about Brooklyn's Best AC. I called them on a Wednesday because all our AC units had been flashing error codes and not turning on during a heat wave. They came out on Thursday to take a look at the problem ; they provide a 4 hour window, but arrived within the first 30 minutes - first good sign. Within 10 minutes the technician had the problem diagnosed and the parts ordered. He said 3-4 day business day turnaround for the parts, but on Monday (1 business day after the first visit) I get a text saying "there's a storm tomorrow, I want to get all the work done today so I'm going to go pick up the parts". One technician arrived soon after and got started, followed by another tech. with the remaining parts. Within an hour the ACs were blasting cold air as if nothing had happened. Huge thanks for going out of your way to get the repair done early and with high quality. Also thank you for observing all COVID-19 prevention guidelines : masks, gloves, etc. I hope I don't need to get other major HVAC repaired any time soon, but if I do, I will be picking Brooklyn's Best. read more

BBAC was super responsive to my email requesting a quote. I reached out to 4 other AC installers in the area for quotes : 2 told me they were booked out for weeks and weren't taking any more appointments; and 1 was cheaper but didn't appear as thorough or professional as BBAC. Joe was super patient. The first time he arrived to do the job. His first question (looking at my unopened AC box) was 'did you try it.' It was then I learnt that you should never buy an AC online and have it delivered by a shipping service to your house. Joe opened the box and plugged in the brand new AC - only for us to hear clicking and banging. Turns out that was the compressor that got damaged in transit. I would have never known that was an issue - and I later read a bunch of reviews online and found several people had that same issue. Then there was the 5 year old AC in my bedroom that I didn't realize was wasting my energy and barely cooling my room down - I knew it sort of wasn't working. But Joe took one look at it with me - and was able to identify my compressor issue. Quite frankly - I didn't know what a compressor was until he showed up. BBAC does sell ACs for installation - and the pricing was comparable to retail. They just didn't have the model I wanted. It would have been less hassle for me to buy direct from them as they bring the AC and install it. A few weeks later after getting two new ACs- I messaged BBAC and they came a few days later to do the installation. Joe came again and brought an assistant. To remove and install two window ACs they were in my apt for just under an hour. The team was highly efficient and super professional. They came within the agreed upon window, brought blankets to protect my floors and a table saw to cut the plexiglass. The two men worked in seamless coordination and were a pleasure to have in my home. After completing the job - they cleaned up carefully and removed everything they brought in. I've had friends over and have looked at the installation and have commented how neat it is. There is caulking a sealant around the window. I know for sure that this winter cold air will not be coming into my apt. I'm super happy I decided to pay professionals to come and install my AC. I can totally tell the difference between the job compared to my super or a guy friend installing for me. read more

I had a great experience with them earlier this summer when it was 100 degrees and my AC broke! I reached out to them on Sunday night and they came the very next day, bringing a new AC with them (carrying it up to my 4th floor walk up), quickly installing the AC, and carrying out my old one. These guys really go the extra mile. I've used them for a few jobs in the past, but this last job was different. My AC went out right before a heatwave, and they came quickly and found the issue (or so we thought). After this first repair, the AC went out again. They came back again, quickly and at no extra charge to see what went wrong. Long story short, it ended up taking a few more visits, BUT these guys really went above and beyond to keep us cool and fix the issue once and for all. They were patient with me and even offered to have another AC company come out to reassess the problem when it became really tricky. In the end, they fixed our AC and were very reasonable in their pricing. They are honest and reliable and if they don't know whats wrong they will tell so and offer a different solution. I called on a sticky hot day in July to request an installation asap. 24 hours later, my apartment was cool and comfortable! Joe was informative, friendly and personable. These guys killed it called them on a Monday and Had new ACS installed on Tuesday My house is now an ICE BOX My wife and twins were complaining about how hot it is and now they are complaining how cold it is.... I mistakenly put window units into the wall. My electric bill was 800 bux and we were living in a SAUNA. Called these guys up, got an wall AC for about 500 bux delivered and then 100 to install. I couldn't afford to get that in all 3 rooms so they hooked up the window units for me in a very safe and cooling way great job! read more

These guys were great. Our A/C cut out just as it heated up this summer. They came within a day or two of us speaking. The technician was unafraid of getting dirty to diagnose the problem. We recently had a renovation done, and our contractors had run the unit collecting a ton of dust and debris. So when we turned it on, the fan motor almost immediately burned out. Unfortunately, our A/C had an uncommon circuit board, so they had to order it. But, once it was available the technician that came worked almost all day cleaning out, servicing the unit and installing the new parts. Incredibly helpful and friendly! I just needed to install a safety bracket for the AC. Basically I can do it by myself since it's fairly easy, but the problem I don't have a drill to drill holes on the window! The guy who answered my phone call was very friendly and helpful, he didn't try to do the marketing shit on me but instead advised me for better solutions and options that I really was looking for! I had a fantastic experience with Brooklyn's Best AC this week. I needed a technician to come out and inspect my AC system because I suspected that the system was full of construction debris (we have a gut reno). I submitted an internet query and heard back from them within one day. The person I spoke to was super friendly and helpful in explaining what was involved. I had to call back to reschedule and it was not a problem whatsoever. I was given a window of 9am to 12pm for the person to show. I received both a text message and a call from Levi around 40 minutes ahead of time to let me know his ETA. Levi was really so friendly and he even had shoe booties so that he would not track outside dirt in the house. We briefly discussed what he was planning to do and what I would like him to check and that was that. He worked quickly and quietly and was on his way. He checked the entire system and even provided me with some minor parts that were missing. Finally, on the way out, Levi mentioned several times that if anything seemed off that I should get in touch with the office and they would come back right away - which I really appreciated. read more

These guys were great. The sales department was super fast to respond to my request for a quote, asked for pictures when I explained the window I wanted the air conditioner in was kind of weird, and was just generally lovely and responsive. When they got to my apartment, they were efficient, friendly, and clearly knew their stuff. The plexiglass panel next to our new air conditioner is well-sealed and looks great, and our apartment is so wonderfully cool. The idea that I was even considering trying to install a new air conditioner myself is now kind of laughable when I look at what a great job they did (and so quickly!). Based on some internet research, the prices on the units were very reasonable. They said that their schedule was packed but said that if something were to open up that they'd call back. They did call back...to confirm that they don't have space. Bummer. These guys are great. They are super responsive and returned my call quickly- could come out the very next day. I was dying of heat on the hottest day of the year or so it felt, and Joe and Joe (ha, same names) came to change a 220v outlet to 110v. They worked quickly and efficiently, and I felt safe with them doing the electrical work in the apartment- it was clear they knew what they were doing. On top of that, they were professional and personable- they installed an air conditioner I purchased from them (reasonably priced), a safety bracket, and the safety screws to keep it in the window without a problem. These guys are truly great! They installed three AC units taken from my basement perfectly with clear plexiglas cut perfectly on site for either side. The three units were all different with three different window sizes and they installed plexi with simple silicone sealant that can easily be removed when taking the units away for the winter. Also, the neighbors' AC unit upstairs has been annoyingly drippity drippity dripping on ours and they stuck some foam padding to minimize the irritating noise. They showed up on time, were super quick and thorough, AND brought a giant shelf to the basement as a favor for free! True mensches these guys are! Go with the the Best! read more

I wish I could give this place 6 stars. (Notice how this place does not have one review under 5 stars. There's a reason) I had a "PTAC" unit in my apartment that needed to be replaced. I called all over the city and it was so frustrating trying to find a place who even offered this service. Had a different guy from a different company come in and say I'd need to get a "custom built" unit which would take longer, etc, etc. I didn't have time to waste as I had no heat in my apartment and it hadn't gone above freezing since Christmas. So I tried looking for other places. I don't know why Brooklyn's Best AC was my last call as they are so highly rated... but it was. I spoke with Joe and it was as if I was talking to a person who was not only wanting to help, but who valued me as a potential customer. Joe gave me a great quote, said that a "custom built" unit was not necessary and helped the process move quickly so that I could have heat sooner than later. Here's the kicker. When he got to the apartment, the dog ran out and the door locked behind me. The building had given out the key to someone else, so there was no way to get back in. As I was cursing up a storm, Joe continued to calm me down. When the building couldn't help with a master key, Joe said: "I used to be a locksmith. Let me see what I can do." So he and his assistant (I don't remember his name) got me back into the apartment and finished the job within 45 minutes. Joe is just a good person. And it reflects in his business. These guys are amazing. I left a message and they called me 10:15 next business day. Joseph (owner) helped me select 2 new units - one a 28,000 in-wall unit (big boy!) and a 12,000 unit both to replace my 17 year old models. He told me he could do it that day and gave me a time window and how long the job would take. He an Jacob showed up exactly when they said they would. They took out the 200 pounder and the smaller one, installed the new ones and even customized the installation in the bedroom in a way that we could open the upper window to wash it. By 3:15 I had 2 new AC's, old ones removed, boxes out of the house - done. They were totally professional and a pleasure to deal with. Do not hesitate to call them. read more
