The bridal and grooms suite are spacious and had the right amount of space for us to get ready in. We had 5 bridesmaids and 5 groomsmen, and easily fit with all of our belongings. We even held a Chinese Tea Ceremony in the front of the bridal suite, no problems at all! Some other venues had a large bridal suite and a small sad room for the Groom, but that's not the case here! They had a pool table and foosball table to enjoy! Both suites also have fridges in case you have drinks you wanted to bring! With all that being said, the windy road to Circle Oak Ranch was still a worrisome thought in our minds, but with their recommendation of a Shuttle vendor, that was all resolved! All of our guests were able to utilize the shuttle pretty effortlessly, and no one had to worry about driving back home in the dark. All of their vendor recommendations were amazing - would highly suggest picking from their list because the ones we did were perfect for us! She has been nothing short of amazing. When COVID hit, she helped to accommodate our new wedding dates without hesitation. They provide the food,tables and chairs , and linens . you will be responsible for decorations, cake, flowers, etc. (They do have a list of vendors) Just be aware that since it's on the grounds of a military base all of your guest must pass a background check which requires them to submit their real ID or passport. This may or may not eliminate some of your guest as they must be US citizens or in possession of a green card. It also provides the opportunity for a lot of misunderstanding at the front gate so tell everyone to come early and be prepared to be patient, just in case the list has not been given to the front gate and things have to be sorted out, has happened in our case. Setting those concerns aside, it really is a beautiful venue and the food was really good. A couple of the servers had bad attitudes, but the management is really accommodating so it kind of all comes out in the wash.If I had to do it again, I'd probably just pay the extra money (about double the price) and book an all inclusive venue to eliminate some of the headaches that we endured, as I did with my younger daughters wedding, but if you have a good wedding planner a lot of problems can be avoided . This venue truly feels like a dream for photographers and for couples looking for a unique, beautiful setting. The layout is so cool! A stunning house sits at the top of the hill, and the drive up is lined with orange trees, which immediately creates a magical experience. Just below, there's a pond with a gazebo, and only a few steps away you'll find the ceremony site. It's already gorgeous on its own, but it becomes even more breathtaking with added decor. The reception area, with its canopy of sparkling string lights, feels warm and romantic without needing much enhancement. My couple started their day with getting-ready photos in the bridal and groom suites, which are full of character. There are so many thoughtful details and props from vintage trays to elegant silver-framed mirrors, that make for creative images. We also used the spacious, beautifully lit living room for portraits. The first look and bridal party photos took place just outside the house, which provided a private and peaceful setting since guests gather in a separate area for the ceremony and reception. After the ceremony, we explored the gazebo and pond for more portraits. One of the most unforgettable moments was sunset!!! My jaw was on the floor! The sky turned the most incredible shade of pink, with mountains surrounding the venue and the string lights beginning to glow. It was absolutely breathtaking, and I couldn't stop taking photos. As the evening continued, the dance floor area became the perfect backdrop for nighttime shots. Being around rescued animals and knowing that our event fee was going to support them felt really good and aligned with our values and the Ranch had what we needed. Shera is experienced with doing weddings and knew had to direct them and had recommendations of vendors as well although I brought in my own mostly. This is a unique spot in the San Diego area and it was certainly very affordable at the time given what we got and the prices that things go for in San Diego for a 70 person wedding. It's definitely worth checking out.
