We have had some of their delicious yummies at local festivals or events, and at the Mad Hatter Play Cafe where they have some items for sale; but this was the first time we had actually been into their shop ... I took my two boys there for a morning treat that we could have throughout the day and honestly, it was hard for me to decide what I wanted. The kids were easily beckoned by the Chocolate Chip Cookies! Ha! They both loved them (I did too, as I snuck a bite of one). Soft, thick, and just the right amount of chips. The cookie itself was good too. Some of the delights that the owner had made that morning included Pumpkin Squares, Brownies, Scones, and other types of Cookies. Being the apple fiend that I am, I went with the Apple Turnover! Boy was I happy about that decision. Flakey pastry, sweet and tart apple filling, and just a wee bit of icing on the top made this a great choice. I had planned on just having part of it that morning and the other part around lunch time ... but, you know ... it all just happened to disappear in the morning! =) The owner was equally delightful and extremely kind. She welcomed us straightaway and was very friendly, patient, and great with my kids. What I didn't know, what that she also carries other items too - in addition to sweets. The husband and wife team showed up several months ago and they are a welcome addition to the diversity of offerings available right here in the Willamette Valley. We sampled the bagels for the first time today and they could not be more perfect. Bagels are meant to be chewy and Cat and the Fiddle describes their bagels as "unapologetically chewy" and we applaud their honoring that time worn texture! Last week we sliced the Brie stuffed challah, which is round, toasted it in the pan and served a poached farm fresh egg on top - magnificent taste and texture. Finally for dessert the chocolate rugelach is a rare find anywhere, because it is labor intensive and the goodness lies in the quality ingredients and the skill of the roller. The Cat and the Fiddle serve to elevate these Jewish baking traditions. A worthy Saturday taste adventure!

She was beyond patient with me and kind the whole way through as I went back and forth on what to do. I had endless questions for weeks before booking. On wedding day, everything went off without a hitch. Her team showed up in professional attire, were kind, respectful, and prompt. They were so sweet and kept telling us how beautiful everything was and how grateful they were to be there. The food was SO GOOD. So good in fact we put the leftover scalloped potatoes, prime rib, and artichoke chicken straight in the freezer on wedding night and are just about to run out.
