I loved coming here before my recent experience with my mother-in-law. I had my mom, my mother-in-law and myself for pedicures and manicures and at the end of my mother-in-law's visit, her toe was bleeding. The lady decided to get my 75 year-old mothers in grown nail without asking me or my mother-in-law. When we left, my mother mother-in-law said she was in a lot of pain. I apologize to my mother-in-law thinking that maybe the lady just accidentally cut her, the next day my mother-in-law's foot was swollen and oozing blood and pus and over the next few days it got worse. We made her a doctors appointment and I called the nail shop to let them know what had happened and asked what that lady did to my mom's toenail and the lady ended up saying she had an ingrown toenail and took it out. I was so frustrated because she didn't ask for one. This was my mother-in-law's first pedicure ever and now she never wants to get another pedicure not only that we've already went through one round of antibiotics and I asked for a refund for my mother's toes. In order to get a refund, they asked me to bring my mother-in-law back who can barely walk on her foot is in a lot of pain so they can see her toe so my mother-in-law came willingly and they refunded my husband. Her toes , now a few weeks later is still in the same condition and we already went through one round of anabiotic's and I have to go take my mother-in-law to the doctor again because it's still not healed mind you she's not diabetic but does have health problems . They haven't even called to check on her to see how she's doing. I had to call again to tell them right now. I'm having to take her back to the and that lady who took it upon herself to take out my mother-in-law's ingrown toenail does not need to be doing that ! She should be referring to a doctor if she doesn't know how to do it ! this has ruined my mother-in-law's experience of ever wanting to get another pedicure in her life again she hasn't been able to walk on her foot. Her hips are now hurting from having a blood pressure on the other foot. She missed our baby shower this past weekend cause she cannot put any pressure on it and has been missing her church every Sunday as well . And like I said, I loved Brookside Nails before this incident but after this, I will never go back. And her last appointment the doctor mentioned we need to watch her foot for sepsis now , this is crazy that it still hasn't healed and the lack of care and concern for their clients to just get a fake I'm sorry and no follow up. read more

This place is pricey. After calling a few other salons who were too busy to get me in, I landed back at Brookside when they said there was no wait. I now understand why. It cost me $55 for a gel polish removal on my fingernails and a new polish. I did ask for a design on two of my nails which 2 techs at this salon have nailed before, but the tech must have misunderstood what I was asking for, despite having shown her a picture, and gave me something completely different. For a comparison of the design I requested vs what I got, imagine asking for stars and just getting polka dots. I went home and put nail stickers on those fingers to hide the design. If she couldn't do what I asked for, I would have much preferred honesty and a different option rather than a hefty bill for unhappy nails. read more

This place has been amazing at times and horrible at times. I really feel it depends on who you get. I have a very specific thing I want done with my toenails and I find that they are very resistant to doing what you want them to do. As an athlete I have to keep my toenails really short so they don't tear through my socks or cause pain when I'm running. Every time I go, I can't get them to go short enough even when I say I can do it myself. - I also prefer my nails rounded rather than the more popular squared off style. I have to really stop them and say no please do it this way. However, they do such a great job with everything else, and my polish generally lasts for quite a while, regardless of what style I get. They would get a perfect score for me if they did a better job of just giving the customer what they want. read more

Stay as far away as possible! I don't listen to one off bad reviews, but trust me, listen to this one. This salon is rude, unpleasant, and borderline dangerous. I never leave bad reviews, but I made a yelp account just to leave this one. My mom came to the salon a few months back and had a bad experience with her gel nails (which faded). Nonetheless, I decided to go anyway to get my powder acrylics removed which had grown out and get either some polish or gel nails. We never got that far. I'm not sure who did my nails, but the removal was nothing short of negligent. Without soaking or even filling the top gel layers off, she clipped the edged of my nails and took a nail tip and ripped the acrylic nail off, along with my nail bed. I thought it was a bit painful, but manageable and I didn't see my nail because of the plexiglass. She then did the same thing to my ring finger as well, but because I cried out in pain she finally finished the rest with a file. Turns out she ripped part of my nail clean off to the base, exposing skin and a bit of blood. She put some weird yellow powder on it that stung like hell and moved on to the rest of my fingers. Even after she could plainly see that two of my nails were bleeding from her method, she didn't think to start soaking them, she just filed a bit of the top off and ripped the acrylics off with another nail tip, leaving the rest of my nails thin and sore. To make matters even worse, before I had seen my nail, she told me it was completely fine to put polish on it, in fact I should put gel on top "it'll last longer". When I objected, she just continued to insist that no it's fine, it's nothing, I should still do gel and a manicure. Ignoring an open wound on my nail for the sake of squeezing money out of a client is disgusting. Once I'd seen the cut and saw my skin and blood, I decided to get the hell out as soon as possible. I've put antibacterial cream on it and hope I don't get an infection. I will absolutely never be returning again. Their practices were negligent and the cut is incredibly painful, my nail is exposed and stings horribly. If this is how they do nails, they shouldn't have a license and certainly shouldn't be in business. I just hope they realise before they get sued. Do yourself a favor, beware and stay away! read more

The normal techs (and Christina) that provide great quality service were not here or already booked. So I agreed to go with someone else. After tipping generously (I normally do) I went home without really checking my nails closely, later on I saw the terrible job she did! I came back to show the fella at the counter and he closely inspected them and agreed that I should have them redone and he scheduled me in. The next day I showed up early and the tech along with two other lady's were standing outside waiting for the shop to be opened and when they saw me they gave me mean ugly looks and were obviously talking about me. These three ladies never did my nails and one kept coming by my car staring at me really hard. When I went inside the lady at the desk confirmed my appointment and pointed me in the direction of the person who previously did my nails. I asked if my appointment was with them and she said yes. I explained that they were the reason why I came back and I didn't want them, because she did an awful job and I wanted someone else. The nail tech said that the awful job was "my fault!" Because I wouldn't let her file my nails??? I called out the lie and reminded the person at the desk that I had been a repeat customer for a long while without any issues, until now. The person at the desk agreed and tried to reschedule me, but kept insisting I would have to go back to her to get my nails fixed by this same woman??!! This is CRAZY! Meanwhile, those ladies that were standing outside were slowly coming around me aggressively like they were ready to fight me! I didn't need this! This was TERRIBLE treatment towards me and of and person/customer period! I said NO THANKS and left. NOTE: THIS star is for the person who did my nails and for the other technicians who provided backup hostility and for the insisting that I go to the same person for correction. She needs to go back through a refresher course AND they need anger management classes! This place as a whole was never before seen by me as anything but great until this happened. If I had read yelp before, I would have avoided this place! Stay FAR away from here and farther away from the older lady who sits on the back right aisle seat. She is TERRIBLE! I went to Cindy she was so nice and she added some gold flakes to my pinky and thumb.I pay 80$(kinda alot in my opinion but I think is was 80 bc of the design) plus tip she did the 3d flower so good and they are so cute!
