BUYER BEWARE!!! I talked to Ryan about putting my tractor on consignment to sell. I had no idea how much the tractor value was. He gave me a general price and said that they would pick it up and know better once he saw it. Once he picked it up the price went up because the tractor was in excellent shape. I was pleased!!! A week and a half went by and some coworkers were stopping by the store and I asked them to see if it was in the front or hidden in the back and they couldn't find it. I stopped by after that and Ryan said that a guy down the street was giving it a test drive. I acted like it wasn't an issue. I tracked down my tractor and spoke to the guy and he stated that the tractor was given to him as a loaner until the tractor that he ordered came in. He further stated that he had no Intentions of buying the tractor and he was using the s**t out of it for a week in a half, the ENTIRE time it was gone. After confronting Ryan and arguing with him about bad business practices, he stated "what was the ultimate goal?" I said to sell the tractor!!! He said come back tomorrow and that he would have money for the tractor. I showed up the next day and he threw a wad of cash across the desk and said "Here". I counted the cash and asked for a receipt and walked out. I still wonder if he even gave me a proper appraised value and he still kept a 10% commission on what he knew he could sell it for! No apologizes or anything. Never will do business there again !! read more

No issues at all with the 2 items I've purchased. A tractor, then a grapple a year or so later. They are super helpful and have no trouble assisting me with questions, parts, etc. for my LS. I'm a previous Kubota owner and felt more like a "number, not a name" with Kubota, honestly. I don't get that feeling with General. Rest assured they are top quality! read more

I purchased an LS Tractor from General Auto 3 years ago. Brought the tractor in because the tractor would not stay running. After 2 days of not hearing from GA, I called and was told they had not even looked at the tractor yet. The next day I was called and told the injectors were bad and it could take anywhere from 1 week to 3 months to get the part. Good news, it was covered under warranty. One week to the day, GA called me to let me know the tractor was done. The cause was the fuel pump was clogged and needed a new pump and they had fixed the issues. $1138.44 and none of this was covered under warranty. I picked the tractor up and asked to see the parts and debris they found since as a SAE Certified Mechanic this did not make sense. GA could not provide me with the parts. I was charged $125.00 an hour for labor when clearly the board in their shop says $120.00 an hour. With tractor being equipment for the farm, they would not accept my tax exempt; their accountant told them not to. Also, legally the business is supposed to provide me with a written estimate before fixing and GA did not. I hate to be ripped off. Will not be taking my equipment to General Auto again or referring them to anyone. read more

I have had a several year history with this company. One year ago I needed servicing with my Zero turn mower which I have brought to this establishment multiple times with a complaint that it was struggling to cut thicker higher grass. This was new as I have used this mower all over my 10 acres since purchased about 5 years ago. They were unable to find out why this problem exists and sent the mower back to me the same after the service. I just lived with it. This year the pulley broke while mowing and almost one week after calling they picked my mower up (o.k. busy season) and serviced my mower appeared to repair it in several days. Dave called to tell me the mower was repaired and would be returned that day. I asked about the tires since the small tires in front often lose air and wanted to make sure the tires were fine. He told me the tires are in good shape and they aired up. They returned the mower that afternoon when I was not home and when I went to mow our very tall grass fields and yard, I found the mower with the right front tire off the rim! I was unable to mow. The only way the tire comes off the rim is if you drive the mower when the tire was flat. We did not send the mower to repair that way and certainly after the direct discussion regarding the tires, did not expect to receive the mower with a flat tire off the rim. This is a big deal since the tire has to be taken off and brought to tire place to be put back on. I have to hire someone to take off and put it back on. I contacted Dave the next morning and asked that they take care of it. He told me to take the wheel off and bring it to them and they would fix it. This is not acceptable since I have to pay someone to remove the tire, I was going out of town for the day to work so this task after they had my mower for two and half days is unacceptable. Dave said on the phone that I was and have been rude and they would fix the tire if I brought it in and to never return. He said that his staff agreed that I was rude to them. I have had no contact with his employees as I was not home when the mower was picked up or returned. Worst yet, he insisted the they did not return my mower with the wheel and tire off the rim! I had not touched the mower and the last person(s) to drive,touch, work on the mower is General Auto Parts. I suspect that this was a mistake as I suggested and they need to take care of it. Dave's handling and insisting that they did not return the mower in that condition is outrageous and very poor customer service to be polite. Steer clear of this shop as they appear not to be truthful and their handling of my mower issues is not likely an isolated incident or the first or last time. I was not rude and yes I was irritated after being expressively told they aired up my tires. Apparently they did not and mistakes can be made, just handle this as an adult instead of hanging up on me then calling me back to tell me to never come back. Very unprofessional and very customer unfriendly. I don't recommend this company. read more
