I walked up to the customer service desk with one simple question. The only employee there was on the phone, so I waited patiently. Then another customer strolls up--past the line, mind you--and instead of acknowledging the person who had been waiting (me), she interrupts her call to help him immediately. I guess I was wearing my invisibility cloak that day. Throughout the rest of the store, the employees avoided eye contact like I was carrying the plague. No greetings, no offers to help--just a bunch of disengaged workers who either skipped customer service training or genuinely hate interacting with customers. Placed an order online and delivered to the store; was a very easy and simple process as any other online purchase. Picking up my purchase was just as pleasant. We came by to just check things out. They have clothes, shoes, grocery items, pet supplies, live chickens and so much more. We did pick up a pair of work jeans for 10$ and a pair of sandals for $30 and some local honey. We were looking for some Black Cow Rootbeer but they did not have any. If you haven't been to Rural king, they are basically a mix between a Tractor Supply, Ace Hardware, and Walmart. Every time we go, we end up finding something we needed even if it wasn't on our list. They have amazing prices on spices! They carry home decor, furniture, snacks, animal food/medication, live animals, grass seed and fertilizer, yard stuff, tools, paint, guns and ammo, clothes, toys, etc! They have grills, tractors, mowers... Literally a one stop shop unless you're looking for groceries. Our last trip was Black Friday and we ended up with a mini green house, some tractor paint, goat feed and cheese balls. They're also selling Christmas trees! They are respectful to those who are approved exempt from wearing masks under the mandate. If you're in the area definitely check it out!! You won't leave without something!! read more

From my many visits here, RK has the best prices on feed. RK Guns department can be incredibly slow -- but, they do the the legal requirements to complete all the paperwork. The selection of guns and ammo is good. Their special or sale prices on guns and ammo really can't be beat. ...Through in the hardware, food, clothing, garden, and everything else they sell here and you've got a rural shopping experience. This store is incredibly unique. Confession: I'm a city bred child, so I'm a bit enthralled with the idea of country living. Not enough to buy a farm or do actual work. But to walk about and pretend? Sure. So what's in this store for you, city girl? A cornucopia of delights. That's what. T-shirts that scream patriotism. Bulk candy that was possibly made in 1972. A spice bin full of cinnamon and Italian spices that always, and I do mean always, has some family frantically digging about for some unknown spice. And $9.99 jeans. And 2 for $18 leather belts. Oh, and live chickens. Here's what happened the first time I went to this establishment. I was checking out with a can of interesting off brand soda. I was snacking on my free popcorn (yeah, that's a thing at the RK) when my attention was suddenly drawn to the family in front of me. The mother was 6'3" and not an ounce under 350 pounds. She was leaning heavily on the counter next to her flatbed cart, which was full to the brim with animal feed. Her young daughter, about 5 years old, leans her foot on the edge of the cart. "CONSTANCE WHY YOU DO THAT SO DUMB!" shouts the woman. And I do mean shouts. As though a foghorn has suddenly burst into life in front of me. She has my attention now, so I actually look at the family. There's a little boy, and it suddenly filters through my brain that he has a goat that he is leading about on a string. A goat. An honest to God goat. The boy and the goat are staring each other down as though an epic battle is about to commence. The boy looks at the goat. The goat looks at the boy. There is silence. Then, as though preordained, the goat let go of his bladder muscles while never breaking eye contact. The boy stared. The goat stared. Neither moved. "Ezekiel! EZEKIEL!" shouts the large woman. I don't know if it was to the boy or the goat. Perhaps both were named Ezekiel. The boy and the goat slowly turn to look at the woman. "GET SOME TOWELS FROM THE TOILET AND CLEAN UP!!" shouts the fog horn. The boy and goat meet eyes once more, then the boy drops the string and walks away. The goat is dumbfounded by his new freedom. "YOU BETTER NOT WALK AWAY," says the woman to the goat. The goat looks at the woman, takes a tentative step, sees her death glare, then proceeds to empty its bladder once more. This causes more screaming. The boy comes back, wipes up the goat's gift to all of us, then turns to look at his mother. The goat also turns to look. "GO WASH YOUR HANDS! WITH! WATER!" Boy and goat toddle to the bathroom. I can't in good consciousness give more than 3 stars to a place where goat urine and popcorn can be within feet of each other, and I can genuinely say the smells in the place are enough to turn a delicate stomach. But for people watching? You'll never beat it. read more

I needed to make a trip to this feed store today for chicken feed and other coop stuff. It is located in the old KMart Store. When you enter the store, you can grab a bag of freshly popped popcorn. You can add salt or sugar to your liking. They even have huge bags of popcorn for sell for $3. I turn to the left to walk down the main walkway to the chicken section of the store. I grabbed a big bag of pine shavings for $4.99, a 50lb bag of Chick Feed for $14.99, and Poultry Electrolyte packages for $2.49. They were once again out of the coop wall attaching feeder for oyster shell and hanging wall mounted waterer. They have been out for a while now. The kids wanted new bird feeders. We walk right on down to near the cash registers to the wild bird area. Kids pick out a nice bird feeder for $5. Now, they see a squirrel feeder for $9.99 for the peanuts we already had at home. The kids grab a bag of the wild bird feed for $4.99. As always, we go to checkout and there is a line. The Blonde woman working Customer Service is just standing there doing nothing but talking with co workers hanging at the front. One cashier is working really hard to keep up with the line. We went to this store for the first time today and I have to say Wow! First of all when you walk in you are greeted and offered a bag of popcorn to enjoy while you shop. The you have to get ready to walk a lot as this place is huge. They carry almost anything you can imagine but, they seem to specialize in things for farms, even live chickens. The prices are not that great but, you can find a lot of "hard to find" things there. They have a huge bird feed section so I will go back for sure. read more

This morning I came to your store to purchase a can of coffee.  I stood at the register with the green light. Meanwhile,  at the customer service desk it looked like a group of associates was in a meeting.   When the meeting disbursed I walked over to customer service desk where two young ladies were. I explained that I was waiting at the register.  Then for the first and only time I was spoke to, she said "four ninety nine." I gave her five dollars and thanked them both for  acknowledging that I spoke to them and walked out.  Never in my life have I been so ignored by an associate at a retail associate. read more

Horrible customer service! I understand items priced wrong; however, the response I received from staff when questioned about wrong price item was unacceptable. I picked up 2 items marked 4.98, but rang up as 10.98. I simply asked "how can you sell something for more than it was advertised as?" The lady replied "we could not sell it to you" *insert sarcastic tone* which in my opinion is unacceptable customer service. Although we purchased the items (for the full unadvertised price) the response from staff was rude, unacceptable, and uncalled for. So much for providing better customer service than Tractor Supply. Rural King is one of the best stocked and well rounded farm stores around. Are they perfect? No. But perfect varies with each individuals definition of perfect. I find the selection of items a farm family would be shopping for is all under this one roof. I even bought a 24 hp tractor from them even though there are at least 4 dealers within a 20 minute drive and RK is about a 45 minute drive. Almost a one stop shop for farm families. read more

If possible I would have given a negative 5 * they have the worst customer service, nobody seems to want to do their job, the employees get on the phone with what seems like a scripted Lie, and management isn't any better. BUYERS BEWARE.. Never buy a tractor from here, they are made very shitty, we have already had to replace clutch 2x and you are stuck buying parts from them for your tractor. I went 2 weeks ago to order clutch and was told that they ordered it and it would take 5-7 days to get (it's been 14) and still no clutch. I have been hung up on by a female manager spoke with 2 different male managers who guaranteed it was ordered and yet still no clutch. In the meantime our business cannot operate and is costing us money. I am telling you to please BEWARE OF THIS PLACE. THEY SELL BAD PRODUCTS AND GIVE YOU A RUN AROUND. read more

So first of all, this particular store has never been a 5 star or even a 3. Employees are never the same and finding one that is actually educated in their department is super rare. We have bought chicks a couple times and they never turn out to be what they are sold as. So beware of that fact. Shout out to Katrina tho, she was amazing! 2 employees did not even try to go out of their way to help us find a pretty large item that we needed to purchase. Was in this store 10/4/20. Numerous customers were without masks and some employees had their masks pulled down below their nose and mouth. Line at Customer Service had only 6 customers, but did not move AT ALL for a solid as-confirmed-by-my-phone 20 minutes. There were employees back there, I just have no idea what they were doing. No reasons or apologies were offered. Whole place is papered with signs about their great ethics and customer service. I saw no evidence of either. read more

Went to buy a pistol. One person in front of me. It took over two hours to complete the sale. When i got home i checked the receipt. I was not given the 10% discount. I payed cash for the item. I went back to customer service, after quite a while and going back and forth, i would get the rebate, but in a store credit, not cash like i payed for the item. They said it would be emailed to me. I did not receive the email. I called and was told it would take 6 to 8 weeks to get it. CRAZY. If that is how they do business, no more for me. I had a great experience. Staff was polite. I had a great experience with the staff at the gun barn. They did a great job multi tasking. At one point they had only one person taking phone calls and dealing with a long line of people. At one point a manager (Gloria) came out to help and made everyone laugh with a simple joke. So disappointed with my first experience with this store. Purchased 12 baby chicks.....at 5 weeks old, all are dying or dead from what appears to be Merek's disease. Chicks developed tumors and lesions on their heads and legs, and are dead within 3 days or less. When I called the store to inquire about the source hatchery (since all chicks are usually vaccinated), I was informed that they "had" to be vaccinated in order to be mailed to the store. My suspicion is that the hatchery failed to properly do so. Rural King did not offer to replace the chicks. I will no longer obtain chicks from this store. It's not worth a risk to my larger flock of healthy adult birds. read more

Called the store on Wednesday June 27th to see if they had the Gravity Lounge Chairs and they did I asked if they could hold 2 for me. Spoke to Candance she said ok, then asked to see if they had the air conditioners in stock and they did and I asked if she could hold it. So we drove to Zepheyrhills 1 hour away on Thursday, got there a few minutes after opening, employee Colleen was packing popcorn in bags and waited till she was done only to find out that the items were put back. It was a nicer store then Springhill. Employees they were rough. Had to follow her to the chairs and bought 2. Then went to check the air conditioner but not there, check the computer and was 8 in stock. But guess what, not there. So bought chairs and sign said $49.99. I told her the paper said $29.98. She said I have to check the paper. Very rude store employees. So we get home and the one chair had a part missing and called store manager and he said he would send us the piece. We in turn called Crystal River store and they had the air conditioner, drove from Zephryhills to Crystal River they had it sitting in a cart by service desk. The employees were friendly and pleasant to talk to. Didn't know until we got home about the piece missing from the chair or we would of ask the manager for one. So much cleaner store. Page was wonderful and said they will supply my order which they are currently out of, which is why I ordered online, as last time I was there they were out of the weed killer then, and its 45 minute drive one way for me. We shall see, not hopeful Update 3/24, called the service desk today, speaking with Joe, long story short when I got there Joe had my order waiting and the Manager on duty, Sonny, readily approved same, thats customer service, thanks guys !!
