Wow! This place had me very excited! It's a cafeteria style restaurant. They have all sorts of southern sides and southern mains. Their fried chicken was DELICIOUS! You can also order from a menu if you don't care for anything in the cafeteria line. All of the food I picked was cooked to perfection and that's got to be hard to do in a cafeteria style restaurant! This is a great place for family dinners, meat,veggies,bread, and desserts, served cafeteria style with a glass partition covering the food so customers can't contaminate the food! They also have sandwiches if desired! However, very few customers and staff were wearing masks! The staff are extremely nice and there to refill your glasses often! read more

Inside looks like a family business. It's very homey and welcoming. Buffet bar was awesome! We got some pulled pork, mashed potatoes, fried okra, Mac and cheese, potato skins and their famous fried chicken. Customer service is one of my top priorities. You can be served not so great food, or have problems. But if there is good customer service, it'll cancel out the other issues. The white gravy on my biscuit was a little milky but I did arrive right as they switched over to lunch. Customer service was excellent, very clean, and I felt a sense of home here. It's like a hospital cafeteria meets Denny's, but with a pretty good chicken breast. My personal favorite is the chicken breast with waffles and a side of smoked sausage, kielbasa if I'm correct? First time here. Attended my niece's baby shower. They have a nice, decent sized room in the back for private events. You can get the room for free just need to order from their menu. Food is good, southern food. We had breakfast and I had a livermush omelette with grits and a biscuit. The grits were cold, grainy and flavorless. The customer service was very good. read more

Sorry, I just can't give Brookwood a good review. The reason for that is because at least 3 different people raved about how good it is, so I went in expecting good food. I've been there twice now just so I can say I've given it a good try. The restaurant is clean, has a good atmosphere, the temperature is comfortable and the wait staff are attentive and friendly. The first time, I got fish, slaw, mac n cheese, and eclair cake (if that's what it's called) and iced tea. The fish and slaw were fair, not great, as was the tartar sauce. But the mac n cheese tasted sticky like all they added to the macaroni was velveeta cheese. Very disappointed in that after hearing it was "to die for". The dessert looked good but was tasteless. Also disappointing. The iced tea was excellent. Just the right amount of sugar. I'm really picky over my tea. Well, just about everything, to be honest. All I could think was this wasn't worth the trip. And then just today, I got a takeout because I happened to be in the area; chicken pie, green beans, iced tea and fried apple pie. The chicken pie was tasty, but the crust was not flaky at all and it was kind of brownish looking. My first visual impression was "yuck!" The slice, if you could call it a slice, looked like it had fallen appart from the pan to the styrofoam container. It looked more like chicken casserole that was spooned into the container. They could have made the crust better and added a few peas or carrots for better flavor and taste. The gravy was mixed in. I'll say this, it tasted better than it looked. But it looked terrible. The green beans were excellent as was the iced tea again. The fried apple pie was just so so, like what you'd get at McDonalds. So I'm giving it 2 stars. I expected more because of all the good things I'd heard. Even some or most of these reviewers lead others to believe it's a great restaurant. Maybe it is better than some awful restaurants, or maybe some of the reviewers were practically starving when they ate there or possibly they just don't have standards as high as mine. I won't recommend it to anyone unless they are nearby and just need somewhere to eat. read more

The breakfast was great, especially the biscuits. Prices were good. Improvement would be fresh hash browns instead of the pre-made type. Also, the a/c was cranked up in there. This place has the best fried chicken, biscuits, and banana pudding I've ever had. All the food here is really delicious and the prices are very affordable.
