Went for Breakfast a long time ago and not sure why I have not been back but so far, I've been twice this week. I was in Lincolnton earlier this week because Bean Brothers across the street had road salt and I needed to get the ice off of my driveway. Picked up a 50 lb bag and another later on in the week. Each time I ate across the street at Lincoln Cafe and each time I had the Country Breakfast. Each time was closer to noon but the serve Breakfast all day. Place was very busy, but service was great and efficient, and they kept the restaurant moving. A County Breakfast or at least for me was 2 eggs, Pork Chop, they have other options as well), Hashbrown and Biscuit. Ordered Black Coffee and it was nice and fresh and no hint of being burned. A bit out of the way but still only like a mile from the Court House Square. Next time I'm going to explore the menu more and try some other items. I would have no problem recommending this place to anyone looking for a great way to start the day. read more

We had to be in the area early for an early morning appointment. Searched Yelp for breakfast options and Lincoln Cafe popped up. What a friendly little country café with excellent breakfast. Add rice and gravy as a breakfast side and folks we definitely have a winner. I will return just to have rice and gravy with my breakfast! I recommend. read more

We were in town for a morning appointment and decided to look for a local breakfast place, and avoid a chain, before driving home. We found this place while searching thru Yelp. It's not really in the center of town or on the main drag so we would've never found it by just wandering around Main Street. The parking lot had a lot of cars so we guessed it's where lots of locals go. We walked in and were told to just sit at any table. The place was maybe 2/3 full. Our server came right over and handed us the menu. She gave us 5 mins to decide on our order. They were out of orange juice so we just ordered iced tea which was very good. The noise level was pretty high and it wasn't full. They had a couple TVs on and music playing at the same time. Also there's no carpet or curtains, or soft surfaces to absorb the noise so everything just bounces everywhere . I can't imagine how loud it gets when they're packed full. We waited about 15 mins for our food. Our server was efficient and polite. My fried eggs were cooked just right and I loved that the hashbrowns were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The link sausages looked like they would be dry but they were cooked perfectly. The portion size was pretty large for me but I really enjoyed this breakfast. My husband also liked his western omelet and remarked how it was made with real ham and not luncheon meat ham. You can tell when an omelet is made with sandwich ham because they're super thin. He couldn't finish his hashbrowns because the omelet was so big and filled him up. FYI, none of the servers or employees wore masks, and we only saw a couple of elderly diners enter after we did wearing masks. We brought our own disinfectant wipes and wiped down our table and utensils ourselves because we doubted they have a covid cleaning protocol. The tables and booths are pretty close together, around 2-3 feet apart so when they're full, everyone is at arm's length. There's an outside patio with tables and chairs if you don't want to be too close or are immune suppressed but with the weather turning colder, it might be a bit uncomfortable out there. Altogether our breakfast was under $20 (not including gratuity) and we left there pretty full. The noise level was pretty high so we left right after we finished, plus as mentioned before, no one was masked and it's a closed in place. They close at 2:30pm so it's mainly breakfast and lunch there. read more

Picked up late lunch. Cube steak w/ gravy, fried okra and mashed potatoes... and the largest biscuit I have seen at any local restaurant of this type. Everything was delicious. A very home cooked meal. Staff was very friendly and even though it was a walk in and take out order, it wasn't an issue and my order was out to me in minimal time. read more

We were very happy to find this place while visiting thanks to Google and Yelp reviews. We were seated immediately on a Sunday morning. The waitress was excellent - very responsive, friendly and gave us some great recommendations on the menu. I had the Hungry Jack which had an incredible amount of food - eggs, homemade potatoes with onions, country ham, grits and large pancake. I added a homemade biscuit. Wow! I made a egg and ham biscuit sandwich. Could not finish it all. Great pricing, plenty of coffee refills and awesome service. Would definitely eat here again when in the area. We ordered two hamburgers to go with mayo, lettuce and tomatos. When we took them to the elderly people to eat they only had a piece of meat and bun. I called the next day to asked about why and the manager said we don't do refunds but I will give you the lettuce and tomato. That was the most ridiculous thing I ever heard of. I called back and asked for the owner and the manager would not tell me. But did offer to make the burgers right. That's what she should have said from the beginning. read more

I like how they serve breakfast all day, you don't have to rush to get there before the cutover time most places have. The wait time can very greatly from time to time. I have waiting nearly an hour to get my food before and for simple breakfast meals it doesn't make sense. The facility is old and could use some modifications to clean it up a bit. The service is usually good but has its off days. Overall I believe it is a little pricey for some items and fair on others. read more

The food here is always amazing. Their liver mush and pecan pancakes are a must try. They're a little unorganized on the service side, as they let folks seat themselves and they don't have near enough tables for the business they do. After driving past this place many, many times, on our way to Court Street Grille, and noting just how busy their parking lot is, each and every time... and consulting Yelp for insight, but having very little to go on... we decided to brave our first time out to Lincoln Cafe. There was a big payoff this time, and we have enjoyed eating here, something like 3-4 times within a couple of weeks! This place does extremely well with true short-order cooking. We have never had anything come out of the kitchen cold, when it shoulda been hot, or warm when it shoulda been cold! With most every table occupied, they can still deliver food within a very reasonable wait time, which is quite impressive. The only thing that I have seen suffer, in the slightest bit, was my iced tea went empty and I had to ask for a refill, but our waitress was not out for a smoke, she was actually back in the kitchen, helping to make sure food was being quickly taken to tables, so I can live with that. I asked, and they were quick to respond. Their cube steak with gravy and mashed potatoes are on my next-time to-do list. That looks delicious! read more

There are several small town southern eateries in Lincolnton. In addition to typical burgers, BLT, etc., these folks offer breakfast all day, and a number of plate lunches & veggie plates, which vary by day of the week. Their plate meals seem a bit tastier and less likely to be as overcooked compared to other similar cafés locally. Atmosphere? Plywood paneling and asphalt tile floors with bright fluorescent lights work well for families in after ball practice or work and for retired couples who "can't cook for two at home any cheaper..." Service is exactly what you want from the waitstaff - GRITS (girls raised in the South) - attentive and family-style friendly. Watch out! That ice cream cabinet with post-it note flavor labels by the front door may snare you before you leave. read more

THE SQUEAKY WHEEL GETS THEIR FOOD FIRST. I made the mistake the first time I went there to dine in. We arrived and 12 and left around 1:30. Ticket time was just over 48 minutes, plus the 7-10 min waiting for our drinks and to create a ticket, plus time to eat the food. Not what I was looking for when I am on my own clock. I realized the other server there was running to the kitchen asking kitchen staff how they were looking on such and such ticket, while my server was clueless that the squeaky wheel gets her food quicker. Kitchen staff would make her tickets ahead of mine. I saw 5 different tables who came in 20 (yes twenty) minutes after me get their hot food ahead of me. The food was a 5 Star based on places I have eaten in Lincolnton. Today I grabbed something to-go and beat the long wait. Food was good. Mac and cheese tasted like it was topped with American cheese which was pretty disgusting but still better than the home places Mac and cheese. I gave this a two star because something needs to be done about ordering. You wouldn't have 45 min ticket times if servers weren't running the kitchen. Notable are the burgers, especially the Carolina style with chili, slaw and onions, the Cat Head biscuits, macaroni and cheese and the chicken salad. Their sweet tea is delicious. Today I thoroughly enjoyed a great meal from Lincoln Cafe. Delicious tender country style steak and gravy. The sides were their wonderful coleslaw and collard greens.
