Brother Chimp in North Aurora is a cool brewery with a coziness. It isn't as big as some others. Lots of styles. A lot of activities like live music. They have snacks and food trucks. Came in after doing business around here. It seems like a very chill place. There's a bar and a few tables. It doesn't have a lot of room inside so it's not good for big groups. This is best if only bringing a few people. I got a seat at the bar. Wanted to try a few beers but had to choose one because I had to drive home sadly. I had a Brigadoon. It's $6 a pint. This is an extra special bitter English ale, but wasn't that bitter though. I also snacked on a bag of Pretzel Crack. It's $3.99 each and they have several flavors including Dill Pickle. These are made over in Warrenville so they're really representing local stuff. Fun atmosphere but it's kind of subdued a bit. It has quite a few beers to choose from. Love the drinks and love the staff even more. Our bartender, Ryan, went above and beyond. He gave us a few tastes and asked what we liked and didn't like to find abeer we loved. (They also have spirits, wine and seltzers.) The atmosphere was great with upbeat music and a game on the screen. Definitely recommend giving them a try! read more

This place has live music, food trucks, and front and back patios. The restrooms are clean; you can even bring your food or order from nearby places! If you are in the Aurora area it is worth stopping in Brother Chimp. The brewery is much larger than expected with two areas , one with games, a stage for music and seats. The other is the bar with tables. We walked in an d were immediately welcomed. Unfortunately, I did not ask the gentleman his name, but he was so nice and welcomed us as first time visitors. I had a cider and my husband had the Tropical Chimp and the All for one. They serve snacks and we order the cheese flight . For $15 it was 3 cheeses and crackers in plastic wrap. We were a bit surprised when it arrived, but the cheese was not bad . The entire experience was welcoming and relaxing. Their beers are available at several local tap houses. It's a nice place all around but the beers are pricey. And when you're prompted for a 25% tip for someone simply pulling a beer, that's excessive. I always leave $1 per beer or non-complex cocktail anywhere I go, and even that seems high given the work involved and the foot traffic of most establishments - that is, unless the servers are working for nothing but tips, which is not the case anywhere, but, if it were, then the prices should be much lower. But some reviewers are gonna say they always leave a minimum of 30% tip and, if the server so much as smiles at them, then they leave 50%...but probably they don't. read more

This is a nice brew pub. We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon and there were only a few people in the bar area. We grabbed a couple beers and sat outside. They have a small patio in the back with some sun protection. Staff were very friendly and the place was spotless. It was kind of quiet out there, no music, but then they brought out a portable speaker. Their playlist was great! I tried 3 beers. The first was the For the Masses (West Coast IPA). This one was good but I wasn't blown away. FYI I love WC IPAs. Second was the Sunflower (Belgian Witbier). I loved this one. Great beer for summer! Lastly, I had the Balto (Baltic Porter). This was my favorite, great aroma, good roast flavor and the malt was perfect, not too sweet. As we were leaving they were setting up for some live music. In Aurora for a night after going to the Christkindelmarket. We decided to search for some local breweries and discovered Brother Chimp! What a cool place! We walked in and were greeted by the pop-up restaurant worker who was there, as well as the kind man working. A great atmosphere!! Light snacks can be purchased there, which we did - having one of their cheese boards. We had their Christmas Ale, and went home with a four pack of it! Nice little brewery, it's way out in North Aurora, but if you happen to be out that way, like I was for a wedding, it's definitely worth checking out. They have a nice variety of beers, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, and the day I was there, they had live music playing. They also had a taco stand set up out back you could order from. It's also nice you can get pints 2go, instead of committing to a full crowler, in terms of size and cost. While there I got to try several-well red monk, tropical chimp, for the masses, Smile, and a Homer pint to go. The staff was all very nice, and there was plenty of parking. Been wanting to swing by this place for a while. Smaller taproom with some really good beer and a great vibe. They had 12 different beers if their own on tap and a nice sampler available. Little out of the way but would definitely recommend when in the area. read more

This is a rich snobby place and the several beers I tried were horrible and among the worst I've ever had in a Craft Brewery this place is more for private parties as this seems to be there primarily Focus and again the place is small cramped dirty and unpleasant. Recommended a couple of beers to try and then explained how he had come up with the name for his Brewery. I came in on a Saturday. I appreciated that I saw staff cleaning both inside and outside. They had flights available so I decided to try a flight. They didn't have caps for the size crowler that I brought in, but had cans available for the one I wanted to take home anyway. Staff was friendly and checked on me to see what beer I liked. Stopped in for the first time last week and was pleasantly impressed, a nice local brewery in North Aurora. I sampled several of their offerings, but thought the Winter in Bruges (Belgian Dubbel) was awesome! I took some home, hope they keep making it. An instant favorite. BCB opened when covid decided to roll in, making it difficult to get over here. Finally got a chance to stop by the other day and now I'm already looking forward to my next visit. Met a friend here on his advice. Seating is outdoors for now in the front area of the parking lot. Seating is cordoned off with maybe 4-5 tables for guests, two of which have umbrella's to beat off the sun. The owner, a very nice and well-spoken gentleman, wore his mask and requires you to wear one inside while placing your order. I really liked that he did that..hey..let's be safe. I also went with his suggestion on my first beer..the Kima..a lightweight blonde that's perfect on a warm day. This went back faster than it should have, so it was on to round number two. I made the second choice and that was Brigadoon..a dark amber ale with chocolate hints. Delicious. Seems to me BCB had 7-8 choices on tap the other day...I'm 100% positive I'll be back to try the others. Thanks for coming to North Aurora BCB! Cheers! read more

There is a lot to be said about perseverance - and the crew of Brother Chimp have continued to create a tastefully brewed selection of creations during this difficult time. Although the shorter days of fall will soon make enjoying a freshly-draught brew on Brother Chimp's Patio a bit of a challenge - grab a growler or can to go ! My personal favorite is their Irish Stout, which at4.8%ABV is a good choice for a session beer but there isn't a bad choice in any of their pulls. If you want a good locally brewed beer, Brother Chimp is really making the grade - and no, I am not an employee or friend of the staff, just a home-brewer who appreciates a good quaff. read more
