It's a small shop with a few tables and chairs. I came later in the afternoon, so a lot of the cookies were sold out, but the ones I tried were really good. Even after sitting out for a day or two, they stayed soft and chewy instead of getting hard. I got the mini cookies and they were still a pretty decent size. My favorite flavors were the Loaded Oatmeal and Lemon White Chocolate. Both were super tasty. I also liked that they sell day-old cookies at a discount. I'll definitely come back to try more of their specials next time! read more

Went to Brother Cookie for the first time and walked out with exactly what I came for: a giant, fresh baked, soft, classic chocolate chip cookie. I love Dessert but a chocolate chip cookie is my favorite choice. Quaint location, Quick and easy. "Available Cookie" board is the charm. Updated with ol' school markers and a human hand. Brother Cookie had great reviews so we ordered several dozen iced-carrot cake cookies for a birthday celebration. They were fantastic! Moist, cakey, just perfect. Brother Cookie baked them early on the morning of our event, and packaged them in bags that I provided. Service was excellent. My only regret is that I don't live in Gainesville. I would be eating a lot more cookies if I did. Try Brother Cookie. You won't be disappointed. read more

Over two years, we (two families, 7 people total) have deliberately tried every variety they have, and haven't had one single bad cookie (even the Rosemary Balsamic Fig -- I won't say anyone really loved it, but everyone agreed that it was at least good). I only have one complaint: While I fully understand the whole "Seasonal Variety" concept, the fact is that the Double Chocolate Candy Cane is simply far, FAR too good to be unavailable for more than 90% of the year -- it's probably the best cookie I've ever eaten -- seriously. read more

I loved this place, their cookies are soft, chewy, and big even if you get the smaller size. My friend and I shared 2 cookies, but then after we noticed that you can buy day old cookies for $1, so we got 2 more. The day old cookies were still good, definitely just a little colder but i did not mind. Flavors i recommend: chocolate chip ofc, toasted walnut, pumpkin spice, browned butter. their prices are super reasonable and the building is also really cute inside! My husband and I stopped in on an evening before Fest to get a desert fix about 40 minutes before they closed. They still had a variety of fresh cookies available. The staff were super friendly and helpful. The cookies are huge and delicious! Really enjoyed the chocolate chip, s'mores, and a couple of others we didn't take the time to photograph before devouring. Needless to say, we will return when we are in the area again! read more

Overall, good cookies. Very nice and friendly people, too, and everything clearly was fresh. They recommend calling first to see what they have in actual stock as they can sell out quickly, so I'm passing that along for everyone. I would not say I was utterly blown away by the cookies and I can indeed make just as good at home myself (I like to bake, however) but if you need some good, yummy, cookies it's a great option. read more

I walked in and the aroma hit me ! Delicious is all that I can say. I was looking at the menu and I wanted to sample almost all of them. While we were waiting for our cookies- I sampled the chocolate chip- I was only going to eat only a pinch and ended up eating almost all my cookie! I recently saw some social media posts on Brother Cookie so I needed to try them out. I liked them, but they are a bit over priced and the flavors were just not for me. We looked this place up on Yelp and the directions listed on Yelp were wrong, but sometime this is not the businesses fault. We arrived at the business and took a look at the menu. The cookies are $3.75 each for the giant cookies. Are these cookies big? Yes, but are they worth $3.75, no because its not just $3.75 its $3.75+ tax so the cookie is more like $4.05+, so that's a pretty expensive cookie. We wanted to try a lot of cookies to see which ones were our favorites so we ordered 6 and you can get 6 cookies for $20 plus tax. We ended up getting one Browned Butter, One Carrot Cake, One S'Mores, One Rosemary Fig, One Lemon White Chocolate, and one Chocolate Cheery Amaretto. Of all the flavors we got, the only one I actually enjoyed was the Browned Butter. I wish this place had more traditional flavors like Chocolate Chip, Snickerdoodle, or M&M cookies, but they don't. They just have these other flavors that are not too appetizing. Even the Carrot Cake was not very good, I did not like the icing they put on top of it. I noticed this place does have milk you can buy. They also have 2 beer taps and a cold brew tap as well. They have a nice indoor area where you can sit and enjoy your cookies. A couple nice things, they do sell day old cookies for a cheaper price. If you want to buy the mini cookies you do have to buy a minimum of 6 or they won't see you a mini cookie. Overall this place is just okay. I wouldn't rush back to get these cookies again, but they were just okay. read more

So far I've tried the browned butter, s'mores, and chocolate walnut. I did not enjoy either of the first 2 listed. I did not care for the taste of the browned butter and the s'mores was just bland and dry, I was expecting it to be gooey on the inside but it was not. The chocolate walnut however was amazing. For anyone that's tried the famous Levain bakery cookies in NYC, these are pretty equivalent. The dough is so soft and the inside is a perfect warm chocolately center. The only part slightly different from Levain is that there is a bit too much walnut in the cookie. The walnut pieces are quite large, I would prefer if they were chopped up in more finely cut pieces. I would not recommend either the browned butter or the s'mores, but the chocolate walnut is a MUST try. Best individual cookie in town by far. read more

The cookies were good here but not life-changing. I rarely am in this part of Gainesville so if I was passing by the area, I'd try Brother Cookie again, but other than that, I'm not impressed enough to go out of my way to come back. I tried the browned butter cookie and the chocolate walnut cookie. The browned butter cookie was delicious and large enough to share with another person. I would definitely order it again. Meanwhile, the chocolate walnut is supposedly the most popular cookie, but I didn't enjoy mine. Compared to the browned butter, the chocolate walnut cookie was smaller in diameter but thicker. What I didn't like about the chocolate walnut was how undercooked the whole cookie tasted. Normally, that wouldn't faze me, but with this cookie it somehow tasted off. Brother Cookie has a lot of unique flavors that I wouldn't find at other Gainesville cookie places, like carrot cake, but also has popular flavors like s'mores. I like how our town has another option to fulfill our cookie cravings. read more

I've had their cookies a few times now and they really are good cookies. I especially enjoy the Chocolate Chunk Walnut and Brown Butter cookies. The quality of their cookies seems to have improved over when they first opened too. However, my two main issues are simply that they have run out of cookies on multiple occasions I've stopped by and the prices. The cookies cost $3.75 each and though they are pretty large (especially the brown butter cookies), I don't believe it's worth that price. read more

We were in Gainesville visiting family over the weekend and decided to do a taste test between Brother Cookie and Midnight Cookie. Midnight Cookie seems to get all the top honors if you google best of for Gainesville, but our family recommended Brother Cookie. While Midnight Cookie was a tasty cookie eaten warm with fun options for topping and hours that cater to a late night, college crowd, Brother Cookie, by far and away had the better cookies. The cookies, and we sampled a wide variety of flavors in the name of science, were consistently delicious, soft, generous, and imaginative. We got delivery so can't speak on the actual location or service. The cookies, however, were EXCELLENT! Best non-homemade cookie I've ever had. The chocolate chip literally had a diameter of about 6 inches. It was amazing. The browned butter was PERFECT although I wish they'd offer a browned butter chocolate chip cookie. That would be their best. The s'mores was ok, definitely cinnamon-y like a Graham cracker, so if you think that sounds good then you'll definitely enjoy. The double chocolate was so thick and fudgy like a brownie. 10/10 will go back and will recommend to friends!! read more

Tried a couple different cookie places in the area and so far this has been my favorite. I got the smaller ones and they were still a pretty substantial size and all of the flavors were a good size. The s'mores, chocolate chip, carrot cake, lemon white chocolate, browned butter all tasted pretty good. Also, I had ordered delivery and they were out of one of my flavors in the small size, so they sent the larger one which was greatly appreciated! Will definitely get these again read more

my god. i am a bit of a chocolate chip cookie addict and this place knows how to make a bomb chocolate chip cookie. insomnia cookies and midnight cookies chocolate chip cookie never hit the spot for me but this place's roasted chocolate chip and walnut cookie is TO DIE FOR. i never thought walnuts paired so incredibly well with chocolate but i have been changed. i am a brand new woman every time i eat one. the rest of their flavors are fun too but i always go back to the chocolate chip walnut. i am so glad to be alive to enjoy such an amazing cookie read more

Great cookies! Selection is limited at the end of the day - when we visited, it was late afternoon - but the cookies we got were some of the best in Florida. Do not let the price put you off, the cookies are hefty. Definitely a stop when we visit Gainesville. read more

These are the best cookies I have ever eaten, better than grandma's. They are satisfying, one does the job of meeting my sweet crave but not because of the sugar content. They are to be savored. We were driving by in our way to Repurpose Project and thought that would be a good place for a smackerel. So we pulled in in our way back. The store is nice, VERY clean, with seating inside and out. It was late in the afternoon so they were out of a few items but we had some good choices. Really liked the walnut chocolate chunk, carrot cake, chocolate cherry amaretto, and orange chocolate cardamom. These are not your grocery store cookies - these are premium sweets made with yummy ingredients! Well done! We'll be back! read more

I mainly get cookies and cream, Georgia peach, lemon/raspberry sherbert and sometimes I'll mix and match, which the staff has no issue with-- Speaking of staff, they've been super nice with me, no issue there. They always greeted me each time I walk in the door. I have yet to try their caramelized apples, I heard they were amazing. But until then I'll leave this review on a super positive note!

I cannot wait to go back up and purchase sourdough again! I am very particular about my sourdough bread and this one you can taste the sour. Fresh market is the only other place that I can taste the sour in the sourdough bread. They offer pastries as well and different coffees. In the same plaza, they have a fish market that has great fish dip that went perfectly with the sourdough. The service was great and friendly. There is a raised area on the floor where if you're not looking, you can trip easily. I recommended that they put a bright orange piece of tape on it to get people's eye to notice there's a ledge. The ambience of the place feels like a bakery with all the different selections that you would see in France. If you are in the area go check it out! Enjoy!

The server told us that table was taken, and we were seated at a table far out in the courtyard basically next to the parking spaces under a tree.... It had no umbrella, so we did end up getting a bit damp. And, being a longer trek from the restaurant meant that the service was haphazard... for instance, our waters were never refilled. The food made up for these shortcomings, but if there is a next time, we'll be more assertive about sitting on the actual dining patio. The slower service resulted in not staying for any desert... we'd had a long day and were ready to call it a night, but the passion fruit mousse sounds interesting. No one ever came to claim the table we were turned away from at the start, it turns out.
