Cool little place in Haile! A lil taken aback by the order at the counter setup but, otherwise, great addition to the food scene! Our food was great! My Calabresa sandwich was so flavorful. My friend's steak bowl was really good too! Definitely going to hit this one up again.

I came here with a friend on a weeknight to try Samba Brazilian Kitchen, which (to my knowledge) is the only Brazilian restaurant in Gainesville. Located in the heart of Haile Plantation, there is both indoor and outdoor seating offered. This is Florida after all, so we opted for a table inside. Our waitress was friendly and very helpful as we explored the menu as first-time guests. I ordered the escondidinho de carne seca, which was shredded tender beef (almost like a beef stew) on top of cheese and creamy yucca. It felt like the Brazilian version of an American pot roast over mashed potatoes, except it had so much flavor and the yucca was incredibly creamy. We split a ground beef pastel, which was tasty but at $8 was a little overpriced. Finally, we topped it off with dessert: churos filled with dulce de leche. These succulent little morsels had sugar on the outside and warm filling inside. Overall it was a great experience and I would not hesitate to return.

Great food, caipirinhas are amazing. Escondidinho is sensational, as is the feijoada.

Although the food was good and the waitresses were responsive to our needs, it took much too long for our entrees to be ready.

Get a drink and snack and get a dessert for free. Kiosk was a bit tricky, but staff was standing by to help. Drinks were decent. Red bean milk tea, large size, light ice, and 25% sweet. You get the idea--lots of customizations were available. There were a large selection of snacks on the menu. Tempted to get the popcorn chicken ,but went with the veggie ramen. The spouts were crunchy, leafy greens were fresh, and the soup base flavorful. Served in a plastic bowl. Lots of snacks to choose from too. The ube cream puff was pre wrapped. The comment was it was better than it looks. And it didt look that bad... Thumbs up for this place. Including the bonus star for family owned, top marks!

There's lots of yummy sweets in the bakery like chiffon cake, cheesecake, basque cheesecake, cream puffs, burst cake, mochi, crepe cake, french macarons, and more. It's near the Enson Market. It wasn't too loud inside and there were plenty of places to sit. I think it would be a great place for a date or to meet up with friends. My order: The matcha green tea w. coconut milk (no boba). I also tried the tiramisu mousse cake. The green tea was really tasty, the tiramisu mousse was just okay IMO. Why I left a four star review: There weren't a lot of dairy-free milk options, the price point was a tad high, and there are too many other boba tea shops in Gainesville with a better price point and flavors.

I ordered the Banana Foster and Lucky Charms. It took about 10-15 minutes since they're made fresh to order, but they came out warm, soft, and in a pizza box. Loved the crispy edges with soft centers. Once cooled, they were the perfect texture. The Banana Foster was amazing, even for someone who doesn't usually like banana flavors. The Lucky Charms was sweet and fun with white chocolate chips, though I didn't really taste the cereal. Overall, delicious and worth the wait.

I love that their cookies are made fresh and are always so warm and delicious. It's also really nice that they deliver, but I often come to the store to order since they're very quick and that way I can get just one or two cookies if I want! It's a great place to take people who are visiting from out of town and is an especially nice treat when it's cold out! The inside of the store is always decorated nicely and has a nice big menu on the wall! I highly recommend for the next time you're craving cookies

This was our first time having rolled ice cream, and it unfortunately didn't meet our expectations. Rather than being rolled and packed nicely in a cup, our ice cream was loosely rolled and smooshed into a cup. Their new steamed buns on their menu were overcooked and dried out. We really wanted to like this spot, but this visit was an unfortunately a big miss for us.

I didn't taste cookie dough. I didn't taste fudge brownie and there was no chocolate syrup. The ice cream tasted old. Like it was left open for weeks. 4 bites and I threw it out. My daughter had the wake me up and she didn't like it either. Funny taste and like the ice cream was old or left out. Trashed after 4 bites. And the place is expensive My daughter also bought some cute little cositas. But expensive too. She picked up a pack of pens and they wanted to charge us 2.99 per pen??? Almost 20$ for a pack. Um no ty We won't be back here.

They're truly the best I've ever had, and the wait for them, no matter how long it takes, is always worth it. My friends have tried their arepas as well, and I can say without a doubt this restaurant is incapable of making bad food. The front of house worker/(not sure if he's the owner but maybe owner) is an incredibly kind and sociable man. He always greets me warmly anytime he sees me, and it's always such a pleasure to interact with him. There's plenty of tables to sit, and an easy and approachable order-counter. If you're going (which you should be), I highly recommend the ground beef empanada with their garlic aioli sauce and spicy chili paste. I've never had any of their desserts, but they look amazing too! Love this place. So much. If you're going, please get me an empanada. 10/10, top tier in Gainesville.

They make food from their homeland which is made using family recipes. But I was there to try their ice cream since it used to be an ice cream place. I also wanted to try their crepes. So the obvious choice is an ice cream crepe with banana, strawberry, and a ton of ice cream. It was cooked fresh in front of me (thankfully not one of those cook ahead and reheat places) The crepe was enjoyable but average and a little too crispy. The ice cream was disappointing, average ice cream regional supplier, definitely not home made. I may go back and give the crepes one more try, ice cream nope. Also curious about the rest of the menu.
