Rarebit toast with egg and chorizo, brunchy egg toast, and bacon.
    Molly H.

On our recent trip to Dublin, my husband and I stayed across the street from the Brother Hubbard South location, which was extraordinary luck as I had heard that Brother Hubbard was a must-visit while in the city. We visited for breakfast on a quiet Friday morning and were seated immediately, putting in our coffee orders right away. In terms of ambiance, it's very airy and open and casual inside, with eclectic little details everywhere. The menu for brunch/breakfast is small but mighty, with each dish boasting interesting ingredients and flavors. I opted for the rarebit with melty cheese and chorizo on toast, and my husband tried the brunchy toast with hummus and squash, both items accompanied by eggs. I cannot rave enough about the rarebit. It was SO flavorful and nourishing, and the tomato-y sauce on the plate was swoon-worthy. We did hope to try some baked goods, but as it was a weekday, a lot of the pastries were likely snatched up by folks on their way to work. Regardless, we had a wonderful breakfast and excellent coffee to boot! I cannot recommend this place more highly, especially if you happen to be staying on Camden street or in Portobello. Yum!!!

I went to BH South for my birthday and it didn't disappoint. Any place that serves mimosas by the carafe is going to have me as a fan. The wait staff were super friendly and made the experience all the better for it. I had the baked beans with pork belly, it was delicious ( but a bit dry). And I found the breakfast and brunch menu to be a bit small. But the real star of the show was the chocolate brownie. WOW!!! I had read the reviews and it lived up to every word. A delicious moist brownie covered in a decadent chocolate ganache served with a homemade strawberry cream that cuts through the sweetness to make every bite a delectable one. I selfishly ordered one for myself, but quickly learned this dessert is meant to be shared. I'd give them 5 stars, but my meal was not as good as the dessert.

Good food and service, but not specially amazing. Had the spiced pulled pork. Side chorizo really great

Since I don't eat red meat, I was very excited to see a vegetarian Irish breakfast option. I ordered this as well as a mocha latte. Despite the rain, my friend and I sat outside since all of the indoor seating was occupied. Thankfully some heaters provided warmth for what could've been a chilly breakfast. Very quickly the lattes came out which my friend and I sipped on. They were soooo cute, mine had the design of a little bear on top! The latte itself was hot and not too sweet, the perfect start to the experience. After a few short minutes, the food came out! Immediately, my friend and I dug in. It was honestly everything I expected and even more! There were no weak links on the plate and there were generous portions as well. I sat there for a while working my way through my delicious plate!! Overall, I was very happy with my experience at Beanhive. It was an aesthetic cafe that also provided a hearty breakfast. I would definitely recommend.

Queen of Tarts (both locations) is by far one of my favorite tea room/bakeries. They carry only the finest sweets and teas. Everything is homemade. They do an excellent brunch as well. The scones have got to be some of the best ever. I've had a lot in my travels and these are grand. The service is always excellent as well. The decor is as charming as it gets. Proper tea service on floral patterned China, giving all the Marie Antoinette feels. A+.

Friendly service. For breakfast, I loved their vegetarian Irish breakfast that they no longer make, but they do have a traditional Irish breakfast. Only served for breakfast or all day during the weekend. Their pancakes were super delicious (€13). We tried it with honey, syrup, Nutella and banana's. These are served all day and everyday. I also tried their baked beans and kale that came with tomato baked beans and fried kale on bread and topped with fried eggs (€14.5). It was good. Another breakfast item that is served for breakfast or all day on the weekends. Their Caprese sandwich for lunch is addictive and they pair it with a great tasty bread (€11). Their cakes and teas are tasty, I love their chocolate cake. Their coffee, lattes and Mocha are average. But the experience and atmosphere still make them enjoyable. Overall, this is a place that I will always visit.
