Nice Staff Good Food & Drink We stopped into Brothers Bar & Grill State College during our first visit to town. The restaurant was huge, bright, and airy in a great downtown location. The host, bar, and table staff were welcoming and friendly (we stopped in for two lunches Friday and Saturday afternoon. The well stocked bar has a large beer and cocktail. We enjoyed delicious hot chicken and burgers with fries on Friday for lunch and the "Sampler" appetizer and chicken Tacos on Saturday. The bar and grill has dozens of TV for sports event and is definitely a hangout for the Penn State University crowd. Note - we did not know Brothers is a national chain. Brothers Bar & Grill State College had the vibe of a long-time local college establishment. Great place to stop in with friendly staff. Recommend for basic quick meal. read more

EDITED: Within 24 hrs of leaving a message at this restaurant, the manager called me and immediately remedied the problem. *They sell 2 types of gift cards here, and one type does indeed expire in a month (it is meant for events/theme nights)... So, just make sure they give you the correct type of gift card if you purchase! The manager quickly identified that staff originally gave me the wrong type of card. He re-issued a new card at a higher value. I truly appreciated his response! ORIGINAL: I bought a gift card (large monetary amount) at the bar. I asked about menu prices etc to make sure I purchased a large enough amount. The bartender never once told me that their gift cards expire after just 30 days. *There is no legit restaurant that issues gift cards for just 30 days- especially without warning the purchaser. read more

On the search of a good burger place ever since BRGR closed, we passed this place many time and finally decided to stop in. It's usually packed during the football season but since it was a Sunday in February it was fairly quiet. Aside from the hum of the tvs and some distant football commentary. I got fish and chips, husband got a burger with blue cheese and jalapeno burger and fries. We spilt an order of fired pickles. Everything tasted really good! You could taste the hops of the beer in the batter, giving it that fresh just battered taste. Husband commented his burger was nice and juicy. Only down fall was service was a bit slow, which we didn't understand since it was fairly empty inside. Not a huge deal since we weren't in a rush but I did knock a star off for that. read more

This is based solely on a visit for a quick beer at the bar. Tons of action, loads of TV's and a loud hustling and bustling spot for food, drink, sports, and people watching. Our bartender was quick and courteous and $4 Coors Lite pounders fit the bill nicely. Good spot to pre-game or just watch the game. read more

Brother's was better than the reviews shared. I enjoyed the amount of seating and the space between tables. Our server was kind and tentative. I had the chicken sandwich and was pleased. The fries could have been cooked a smidge longer but I ate almost all of them. Today me and my family 14 of us came here for snacks and drinks. We wanted to watch the US Australia soccer match in the World Cup and luckily for us they were playing the whole game from start to finish. We had a great time. The service was good. People were nice. I got chicken fingers. They were delicious as they always are when I go. I've never had a bad experience with the Chicken tenders and if you were looking for a place to watch a game, I would recommend going here. The only drawback I can think of is that they were out of Pepsi wanted a Pepsi. My sister went to get me one. It was diet. My friend went to get an actual Pepsi that wasn't diet and it turns out that they were out of regular Pepsi this shocked me I feel like isn't it just syrup how are you out of Pepsi syrup but I guess Pepsi diet isn't that bad but I would've much rather had regular Pepsi. Worst restaurant experience I have ever had in 50+ years. We were in town visiting some friends that were alumni. The bar seemed nice walking in, but as soon as we sat down that's when everything went downhill. The food was atrocious, but it's a bar so I'll give them a pass on that. What I won't give them a pass on is the way we were treated by the staff, and more importantly how a group of younger college girls were treated at the table next to us by the creepy manager. The manager had come over to the table next to us a couple of times and apparently had said some really inappropriate things to the girls and was being a little too handsy with the girls. I heard the girls say they were really creeped out by him and they were going to report him, and they were really upset about it. They ended up leaving, and as they left I heard the manager say something under his breathe that referred to "something something white girls" and then laughed. Completely inappropriate. I tried calling the bar later that night to speak with someone about it, but the answering machine was full. I called again the next day, and same thing. I called almost every day for a week, and NO ONE EVER PICKED UP. How is that possible? Don't know the manager's name because he wasn't wearing a name tag, but I saw a picture of him on Brother's Instagram page, which is attached. The next time I'm in town I will be sure to stop by and see if he's still employed by Brother's, because if he is I will be sure to report this bar to the EEOC for what I saw and heard. read more

Had a great time after the game at Brothers Bar & Grill! The bartender Amelia was awesome it was packed but we snagged seats and watched her go! We ordered apps and had great mixed drinks and beer. Well, we stumbled upon Brothers for my daughter Alexa's 21st birthday. Great atmosphere, great menu, server Kate was VERY pleasant. HOWEVER, the kitchen food wait time was quite LONG!!! It's a new college dive bar with bar tenders that are young and slow. After getting them to talk they started to open up and serve faster. On a Monday I actually had to ask for another drink normally after second they get the idea. The bar is forever long they need to come up with a way to break the bar up it's to huge(ie long). Cool vibe for a sports bar. Plenty of TVs and open spaces. The drinks and food not so cool. Beers from tap were bland. Not flat but no fizz/little to no carbonation. The food was worse. Two small fish tacos with corn tortillas falling apart. Some lettuce and pico thrown in top. Not good. The side of rice was ok, the side of beans were cold and gross. Seemed straight out of a can and thrown on a plate. Also ordered a salad which was iceberg lettuce and standard toppings. It also included a stall piece of bread. $12 for the salad and looked nothing like the photo in the menu. Service was ok. A bunch of college kids running around. I won't be back. read more

I ordered wings and got these for $17.....8 freaking wings!!!. They aren't real wings, they are breaded "wing dings". Being the only person eating I would assume they could at least shake them, but no, the lazy ass cook poured the sauce on the wing dings. Very disappointing. read more

There are very limited food options. The drinks are a knockoff of the other bars in the area. Service is slow and painful to deal with. All could be growing pains of a new business. Thought I'd try it since it's a new place downtown. The beer was good. I ordered the grilled fish tacos, thinking the dish was a bit healthy. First time here, the food was not good at all. I think there was only 1 waitress for the whole bar, the service is extremely slow. I was there with my friends and my boyfriend and we each got one drink. My boyfriend didn't want the rest of his because he was driving me home and so I drank the rest of it. We were dancing when some ice fell out of his cup and then a staff member came over and talked to us. The staff member then proceeded to talk to another staff member who then came up to us and told my boyfriend he was 'too drunk' and needed to leave. He also stated that 'three people complained about him being too drunk'. Our group didn't interact with anyone else and were by ourselves. I told the staff member that my boyfriend only had half a drink, to which he responded 'I don't want to argue with you'. Needless to say I will not be coming back here. they charges me regular price for an amf during happies and charged my friend half. when i went up to the girl she said u ordered a different flavor. it's not bc im holding the exact same drink as my friend. so i moved down and asked for the manager while she whispered to another random bartender. this random bartender came up and said oh i am the manager (no most likely she's not she's our age again) she went like oh u paid the right price and ur friend just got lucky bc she was served by a male bartender. later i figured they might have changed it on their social media that pitcher for 6$ doesn't include amf anymore. only long island. i have no problem paying 12, but why did u have to tell me i got the wrong drink when my friend is standing next to me holding the same one? after sharing my story w friends many have told me they're not surprised bc they have either also made the wrong drink multiple times or was racist. chill out ur college kids giving attitudes. ur literally a bartender u have no rights to act this way read more
