Mezeh is a natural mediterranean food restaurant that makes their food from scratch daily. If you're familiar with Chipotle consider Mezeh as the mediterranean version. They claim to have over 30 toppings with various sauces but who's counting. You can pick a "pre made" offering or a "build your own" bowl, pita or wrap. Now like Chipotle it's a fast food style establishment so don't expect the 4 seasons. Mezeh is situated in one of the newer high rises along Calder Way. If you're driving then access stinks but parking is available within a block or two. The restaurant interior is fresh and modern and I enjoyed the atmoshpere. It's a newer restaurant in a College town so staff and service can be hit or miss. During my visit they were slow so everything seemed to work out great. I ordered a falalfel bowl and it was delicious. It had some pita on the side, hummus, tzatziki, tahini, and an assortment of mediterranean toppings. Their falalfel was fresh and moist. I was really surprised by how much I enjoyed this place on my first visit. Pricing was similar to chipotle ($10/bowl) which I thought was very reasonable for the portion size and quality. I can't wait to go back!

Such a great spot! They have amazing vegetarian options -- the falafel was incredible and so flavorful. Portions are huge and super filling, plus I love that all the bowls come with a little pita on the side. The staff were kind and welcoming, and service was really quick. It's a cute little lunch spot, perfect for sitting and chatting with friends. Definitely a place I'll be coming back to!

I wish I liked this place more. Ordered takeout and maybe they were just having a bad night. Paid extra for lamb in a bowl and it had a small little scoop. Honestly felt ripped off by this place. The bowls weren't filled up, missing items in each of the bowls, and just generally lackluster. Really disappointing and I don't think I would go back or recommend anyone else to go either. There's way better Mediterranean food in state college.

It's very good for a quick lunch in State College. Wish we had one in Pittsburgh. We hit this place up almost every visit.

Delicious quick service Mediterranean food with reasonable prices. The bowls are much better value than the wraps.

It does exist and it's even better than how one might imagine based on the menu. We were warmly welcomed and sat right away despite being a little early. We were at a table that was kind of awkwardly blocking a doorway and my friend had to keep moving when people went through. No big deal. Maybe just not the best spot for a table (maybe turn it sideways). Our server was amazing. So friendly and knowledgeable. Drinks - I had a grapefruit spritz mocktail and my friend had a red that he really liked. To start, we had the charcuterie and the tartare. Both excellent. The tartare was so fresh and light with a little pop of spice. I had the trout and my friend had the short rib gnocchi. I was so jealous of his glutinous gnocchi but the trout was excellent. I'm not a bean person but the beans were so flavorful I could not help but to eat them. And then there was dessert. The affogato was perfect. There were a few ice cream flavors to choose from and we selected butterscotch. Highly recommend. The semifreddo. Don't let the garlic scare you. It blends well with the rich chocolate and the bright, juicy pomegranate. Try it! It's like nothing I've ever tasted before. Our server let us know they have brunch which will definitely be happening in the near future. Overall, the most perfect dinner from start to finish.

My husband and I stopped here on our way out of State College towards Harrisburg airport. The food…read morewas delicious and satisfying, we ordered the hummus combo and used some of the hummus as a side dip/sauce for our lunch orders. We ordered and received our food quickly and the waitress was very kind. The restaurant was mostly occupied, but didn't feel cramped or packed. Very nice stop to try something new!

Don't waste your money. I don't write many yelp reviews, you need to really make an impression…read more(good or bad!). This was far from good. I ordered online for pickup (Arayes and Falafel) and the problems started. I received both a web notice and an email that my food would be immediately ready for pickup. Seemed weird, but I figured perhaps they have a good amount staged and could just bag it. Once I arrived at the store I was greeted by an empty host counter, and when someone finally showed up he looked annoyed and bored to be there. I told him about the order and he went to check. I saw him in the dining area a few times afterwards, but no stop up front to say "just a few minutes" or such. Eventually (truthfully, not long after - perhaps 7 minutes) he came out with a bag and said, "Here you go sir. Jonathan, right?" -- "Josh", I replied --- "Something like that." he said, maintaining bored eye contact with anywhere but my face. Despite the hiccups, I arrived home excited to try the food. I was immediately disappointed. Both dishes were supposed to come with sauce - Tahini with the falafel and Tzatziki with the Arayes. There was no sauce. I call the restaurant - it went to voicemail. I drove back - waited again at the empty host counter, and was eventually greeted by a young woman. She was much more welcoming and engaged than the prior person. I explained what happened and she said she would be right back. A few minutes later the original guy came back with a bag with "Sorry about that". I got home and immediately regretted not looking in the bag while still at the restaurant. I received two containers of Tahini and one of some mystery green sauce. Google tells me that Tzatziki can be green, but this neither tastes nor looks like any tzatziki I've ever had. (Not being a culinary expert I don't mind being corrected if I am wrong here) All sauces refrigerator cold. Maybe they are supposed to be? Checking the menu to see if I misremembered, I saw that they were also supposed to come with some sort of "arabic bread" which was missing. I did not call again and resigned myself to eating the already lukewarm food. The falafel was overcooked and very dry. Reminded me of hockey pucks. One bite was enough. Now we get to the redeeming part of the story... the Arayes are phenomenal. They need no sauce. 10/10. I am all for paying well for high-quality food and service, but I won't be giving any more money to this establishment until/unless they iron out their hospitality and quality processes. Truly a shame, because the interior looks nice and someone there really knows how to cook.
