Cheesesteak with onion rings. Chicken tender salad.
    Brent D.

Never know in State College as not many reviewers I think, except on graduation weekend. Figured we'd try Quaker Steak & Lube before a movie. Glad we did. Sat right away. Clean pleasant restaurant. Service was friendly and quick. My wife got the tender salad. I got the cheesesteak. Thoroughly enjoyed my sandwhich. Bread was chewy. Good amount of savory filling with mushrooms and caramelized onions. Salad had very fresh greens. Blue cheese dressing had big chunks of cheese. Tenders were perfectly fried out of the fryer. Big portion. This place is WAY better than its current rating. Lots of daily specials. I highly recommend.

This strip mall denizen a couple miles outside of campus is exactly as expected. TVs flash games everywhere and the car motif is in full view. It's a lively atmosphere. Youth tournament teams steam in and out. The wings, lots of heat levels and flavors, are good. Small sized but well cooked. The "hot" sauce is under the spicy category. It's good and leaves a mild sting on lips...and I love heat so this is decent. Salads we had are good and fresh. Everything is as expected. Except the server, she was really good and friendly and efficient!

The daiquiri was delicious. The wings were wonderful. Jalapeños and honey sauce is excellent.

What can I say about this place, except that I was blown away by it all! First the atmosphere was open, friendly, and if you like sports this is the place to watch it. The staff are quick and friendly and always smiling! They generally seemed happy to be working here. Now for the food...for a drink o had the "Arnold Palmer"(a combination or lemonade and ice tea) and it was the best I have ever tasted. I chose to have the Baby Back Ribs combo, it was 1/2 rack ribs, and six chicken wings, I chose Bourbon Baked Beans and coleslaw. They advertise that their BBQ sauce is an awesome winning sauce, after tasting it I have to agree that it definitely deserves to win! The ribs and wings were cooked to perfection. The Baked Bean were extremely delicious, the coleslaw was good but a little dry for me, I like it but my Dad makes it better. Any way I would strongly recommend this place as the place you want to go for lunch or dinner

Were seated immediately, and was given a new employee and they did a good job. We ordered the loaded magna fries which were phenomenal with the ranch and hot sauce. After we chomped that down, my baby back ribs with chicken tenders, bourbon baked beans and steamed broccoli arrived. The baby back ribs with the original BBQ sauce were hands down the best ribs I've had from any place around here. The chicken tenders on their own were mediocre, but could possibly be better with other sauce variations. The steamed broccoli was good, and the baked beans were delicious. Overall, my experience with Quaker Steak and Lube was very great and I highly recommend you checking it out in the State College area.

This Quaker Steak & Lube is one of a chain that started in an abandoned gasoline station in Sharon, Pennsylvania wherein you'd cook your own meat and later evolved adding chicken wings copied from Buffalo, New York, recipes. It's one of the most gimmicky of restaurants you'll find with all sorts of things car and gasoline station oriented right from the gas pump door handles to race cars hanging upside down from the ceiling. For my lunch I ordered their Classic Fish & Chip which turned out to be a Panko coated season breaded cod, fried, accompanied with a tartar sauce and coleslaw. For my taste it wasn't anything special, sort of OK, certainly nothing unique or exceptional. I can only conclude that the emphasis of this place is more upon the amusing gimmickry than the food.

Cars , and greasy spoons go back a ways in this country, and the Quaker steak and lube brand has been in the game since the 70's . Great flavors and a nice variety of beers . Service is good and specials thru the week have something for everyone.

Very good place to eat in between lunch and dinner times. Food was good, service was prompt, and was fairly quiet atmosphere for a Friday.

We are here to visit Penn State and this place is themed with Penn State pictures. My son really liked seeing the white out game photo on the wall. It has plenty of parking if you drive. We were greeted and sat right away. They have a mix of high top tables, low tables, bar seating inside and they have an outside patio too. We sat inside at booth style seating. Chairs were comfortable nice padding. Our waitress was nice told us there was a wing special today 10 for $10. We got the wings with bbq sauce. They have other flavors too. They were very good but when came out were so hot I had to let them sit a bit to cool down to really enjoy. We also both got cheesesteaks. I got mine the chef Pat Way which was great. My son got the chicken ranch cheesesteak and he devoured it. They gave those fresh wipes since we had wings. The waitress checked in nicely to see for drink refills or anything needed. We had a great dinner after long day of driving. This would be a great place to watch games too they have lots of tvs.

Now if you know Baltimore, you know we take our wings/chicken boxes seriously. You also might know that the best wings are inversely proportional to nice, clean spots. I'm talking about them hood wings, the ones you can only find in holes in the wall with... literal holes in the wall. We've been to and tried out Wings over happy valley and our experience with their wings was somewhat "meh" with friendly service. So when those cravings hit, we decided to branch out a bit and find something a bit easier on the wallet (another quality of good hood wings). We found canyon wings, and the reviews ironically enough got our hood senses tingling. We ordered the 25 wings with island dryub on one half and garlic hot sauce on the other. We also had sauces on the side: jamaican jerk and WTF sauce (they called it their spiciest sauce... more on that later). When we came to pick up our order and were met with somber atmosphere and the gruff but polite customer service... I knew we'd hit the jackpot. I felt right at home (again if you're from Baltimore or DC, You know what I'm talking about!).These guys understand flavor (finally)! Also let me hype what I can finally say is the closest we've gotten to authentic jamaican jerk I have tasted in State College thus far (not yet there but, close enough)...which unlike some might think, is (and in these guy's case actually tasted) different from island sauce! These wings hit all the right spots! Now about that WTF sauce...we're also African (so we like our flavors!). So... while we can say the wings pass the flavor test...Uh ... I'm learning that we have a different understanding of what hot and spicy is...it was more like...mild warm-lite. Still good... but if you're looking for a heat challenge... go Thai. make of that what you will. In summary, I think we've found our Wing spot for a while. Thanks for reading!

It's a family owned Korean Fried Chicken restaurant with 2 locations in the central PA area. The restaurant in State College is in an older building, on a side street, and it's an interesting internal layout. Parking would be on the street or a nearby parking garage. There was only one person working the counter area and the ordering process was not well thought out. The restaurant is in the basement of the building, the seating area has no natural light and it's decor is dated/lacking. We ordered fried dumplings, boneless fried chicken, rice with sauce and a bulgogi bowl between two of us. The food came out fairly quick and was honestly delicious. The boneless chicken was premade but then reheated as is typical in most asian restaurants. You have to order sauce on the side, at an additional cost, and it was a fairly small serving. These dishes have some heat, which we enjoyed, but be careful. We really liked each dish and the portions were large. As other's noted, this place was expensive. Our bill was over $50 for two of us. That's more than it's worth. If you're looking for asian inspired cuisine nearby try Bistrozine!
