I picked this place almost randomly, mostly because it was in the area I needed to be, open when I needed it to be open, and it had a private parking lot, so I didn't have to hassle with validation or other parking nonsense. I missed it at first, it doesn't really look like a restaurant on the outside when you're driving by for the first time and their sign sits on the ground and is only mostly visible from the other direction. We walked in, having never been there before, and not seeing sign about choosing your own seat or waiting to be seated. Despite being right there I had to go up and get the attention of the people behind the bar because they hadn't noticed us walk in. Mostly I didn't want to just sit down and have no one even realize we were there. Our server was very nice, attentive, cheerful, and pleasant. After a few minutes she asked us what we wanted and we replied we didn't have menus yet, then she showed us the little standup on the table I had ignored because they're usually for drink specials, was actually a QR code to get the menu and it was only digital. Not so impressive now that the pandemic has been over for a while. I forget the name of the burger I got, but it came with candied bacon, jalapeños, sautéed onions, and cheese. I could definitely taste and feel the jalapeños, and it had a "bacon" taste, but I sadly found it unremarkable. If I had to guess, they smashed raw, unseasoned beef onto the griddle, and then doused it was salt. I couldn't really taste beef, but I could definitely taste salt. The fries were better than decent, crispy, tasted good, but not mind blowing. For the user experience nitpicks, I already mentioned walking in and seeing no sign and having to get someone's attention. There was a lightbulb above where we were that was flickering like a haunted house, and the table wasn't level and rocked every time you shifted your weight. Again, our server was great, kept the drinks filled, answered questions easily, and was very pleasant. Bottom line: I don't think I'll be going back. It was a solid ok, but nothing drawing me back. They have a full bar, so maybe it's perfect for you or it's a party on the weekend. I'd say give it a try if you're in the area; the prices were pretty decent. read more

Wife and I went there for lunch today (Saturday). Busy enough but not too busy. Can't believe its been there since 2017 and this is our first time. Relaxed feeling inside, comfortable seating with lovely window view, it could have been in Baton Rouge or New Orleans under some old oak trees. So, every now and then I circle back to the mission of finding the best burger in Nashville. I had a friend visiting from out of town and thought we'd give Brothers a shot as it is sometimes mentioned in those conversations. I hadn't tried it before. For some reason I expected a dive bar? Many of the "best burgers" in Nashville are served at such places, but Brothers is actually clean and modern, up to date. Parking is free but limited, but we lucked up and snagged a spot as someone left even though it was peak lunchtime on a Saturday. Our server was super friendly and helpful, walking us through suggestions. We started with the caprese bites and they were solid--a huge slab of tomato can be hit or miss but these tomatoes were actually fresh (maybe it's just that time of year) and flavorful (soaked in balsamic for a bit never hurt). The mozzarella was tasty and the basil fresh. Our burgers arrived really quickly. I had the jumpback jack, my friend the mushroom. Big patties, cooked perfectly. Fresh buns, excellent toppings. Big enough to be more than enough but manageable enough to eat with your hands instead of deconstructing and going full knife and fork. We had debated tots, sweet potato fries, etc.--but hearing it was our first time the server said, while all sides were top-notch, the standard fries should be tried first. Hand cut, fresh, just the right amount of salt--snap crispy, not soggy or burnt. Hands down the best fries I've had in some time. There's a bar and it looks like a great place to grab a drink but we just had water. Thus the tab was super affordable, barely more than you'd pay at a decent upscale fast food place these days. Very impressed overall. I started with a "4" on this but now that I've typed it all out I can't think of a reason not to bump them up to a 5 because I truly had zero complaints. Not sure that this is the "best" burger in Nashville, but it's certainly worth your time and in the conversation. read more

First it was very clean and the folks friendly and service was good. It's a tiny place not much parking and filled up quickly. But seemed like a cool place if you lived in the neighborhood. I always bring family or friends here when visiting if they ask for a local burger joint. The JumpBack Jack is my favorite so I got it again, my uncle enjoyed the basic Uncle Sam, and my aunt had the creole dressing with the Fried Chicken Salad and raved about it.
