Service was great despite the kitchen manager having to leave unexpectedly. Flavor was great, but ribs weren't fall off the bone tender.

Met there for an introductory business meeting. We asked to use the back room for a little privacy. No problem. We were able to accomplish what we needed, as well as enjoy some good food and attentive service. The only problem was that I had wanted to try their Alabama Slammer sandwich, but they were out of the smoked chicken. So, I had the smoked turkey sandwich. Very tasty. I also had their baked beans. We dined at 6:00 PM on Father's Day. The line was long but moved quickly. Unfortunately, they were out of all the lean meats--chicken and turkey--which was disappointing since chicken was exactly what my better half wanted. She settled for a loaded baked potato with pulled pork, which was quite good. I ordered the brisket tray (a mix of lean and fatty cuts), and our food arrived within fifteen minutes. The brisket was flavorful and generously portioned. The sides, however, were a letdown. The honey fire flat fries were overcooked, and the baked beans tasted like overly sweet candy. After two bites, I gave up. If we were scoring the food, the loaded potato would earn a 4, the brisket a 4, the fries a 2, and the beans a 0. The service was polite and efficient, but neither the food nor the service justifies the prices. I realize it's Brentwood, but $23.99 for a brisket platter at a fast‑casual restaurant is excessive. When I saw this new location open up in my neighborhood, I knew I needed to see if it was up to par with other well-established Nashville BBQ lineups. I finally tried it last night, joining my husband at the bar. The dining room is divided into 2 halves where one feels more sports bar and the other half feels like family diner. There is also an outdoor patio, which we couldn't check out due to a private event being held while we visited. It does feel a little less "casual picnic" and much less sticky than other BBQ establishments, but perhaps that's because it's new. We took a while to decide what to order and one of the staff walking by recommended the burnt ends. We had been thinking about building our own dinner tray, so choose 2 meats and an additional order of burnt ends. The cashier then informed us we can add burnt ends as a third meat option, even though it wasn't listed under the options in the menu since it's subject to availability. We appreciated that because we already ordered way too much food for the 2 of us! We sat at the bar and although service took a bit of time to get going, we were subsequently doted on by Kate for the duration of our stay. We did enjoy the burnt ends, but felt the ribs were the star here. We got the wet version but I'd happily order another set with dry rub next time. The fatty brisket was flavorful and tender, but a little too fatty, and the lean version lacked a bit of flavor. The spicy sweet bbq and ranch helped enhance the moisture level for the lean brisket and burnt ends. As for the queso mac, I took some for lunch with extra bbq meat the next day and it was just as enjoyable. The Cole slaw was standard and added some freshness to the heavy meal. We got the pb banana pudding to go and enjoyed it thoroughly on the couch later. Though decadent and delicious, it was so thick and rich, I'm glad we shared the mini version! read more

Let me preface this review by saying I've eaten a ton of bbq all over TX, TN, and GA so my standard for great BBQ is quite high. Now that that's out the way, let me explain my rating of HoneyFire BBQ. Food Tried the brisket (point and flat slices), parmesan green beans, sweet corn pudding, white queso mac & cheese, and HoneyFire ribs. Let's start with the star of the show, the HoneyFire ribs with honey dry rub. Membrane left on had me concerned at first but the cook was so well done that the membrane was bite through leaving the rib quite moist. Really nice bark on top and the dry rub was sweet and paired well with the pork. The sweet corn pudding was one of the best sides I have ever had at a BBQ spot! Definitely a must try. The Mac & cheese had a ton of queso flavor so I can see how that can be off putting to some and also the pasta itself was a little too firm for me. Let's get to the biggest disappointments and that was the lean brisket and green beans. The brisket was missing that smoke flavor and didn't really have a strong beef flavor. Additionally, though the point was moist due to fat content it also did not have a strong beef flavor and was lacking smoke. The green beans were not flavorful and I could not taste any parmesan cheese. Service Exceptional! Though the line was long due to the opening, it didn't take too long and we were given free BBQ spicy rub and BBQ sauce. They also were handing out free samples of the burnt ends. My only suggestion would be to have more than one cashier during lunch. Ambiance It is wide open inside, great bar area with TVs and another back area where the doors can be closed if hosting a private event. I did not notice much wood smoke smell in the air so maybe that's why the brisket wasn't filled with that smoke flavor I'm used to. Would I go back? Yes, for the dry rubbed ribs and corn pudding. I also want to try the smoked wings and pulled pork one future visit. read more

First time at HoneyFire BBQ, and it was awesome! I tried the smoked sausage tray with Parmesan green beans and the cornbread pudding, my wife had the loaded spud with pulled pork and my brother had the "Diablo Jones" pulled pork sandwich tray with Bourbon baked beans and Cinnamon baked apples! The fact that we ate it so fast because so good that I couldn't take pictures should tell you something! Everything was fresh, fast and fantastic! I would highly recommend this place for small parties, after work happy hours, or just your regular bbq spot in a weekday evening. I was between a 3 and 4 stars. I am glad to have another bbq place in Brentwood. I love bbq. Came in on a Friday night around 6pm. I ordered brisket, queso Mac and cheese and the bourbon beans. There was a long line that took about 10 minutes to order at the counter. There was only one girl taking orders. She was very pleasant but I would suggest having another person taking orders to move things along. The food was as good for the most part. My brisket was very tender but greasy. The bark in the brisket had good flavor but it didn't hold up to the grease. Queso Mac n cheese had good flavor and I enjoyed the jalapeno in the beans although the beans should have been more tender. Overall the food was fine. A little pricey for the quantity and quality in my opinion The guys bring food out seemed very uninterested in their work. I think the person running the dining room was absent tonight. With the long line and the sleepy staff the place seemed to be lacking leadership. I will assume they will get this fixed once they are more established. No real ambience to discuss. Very plain inside with plenty of TVs on the walls. Nice outside seating area. Kid friendly and no loud music inside. Good. Not great. Would probably come back but not a regular spot for me. read more

Great tasting burnt ends and enjoyed the queso mac and cheese and the Parmesan green beans. Enjoyed the happy hour at the bar for the two for one beers and Chris was a friendly bartender. I have only been to the location at 5th and Broadway before and glad that this location opened since it is close to my house. Will be back again. read more

The Good - thought the sides were really good. Bought Ribs - they were decent but definitely not fall of the bone good. The Bad - This was a takeout order. 2 full racks, 2 Beans, 2 Corn. they forgot my sides which I didn't realize until I got all the way home. OK, everyone makes a mistake. The Bad - drove back to get the sides came in and told the girl on the register what happened. She had a customer at the register, she told me she would take care of it in a minute. The customer told her, no go take care of him first. All she had to do was walk 5 steps and tell someone. She refused to do so. So I walked over to the kitchen and told someone. All they had to do was dip up 2 beans to 2 corn, it took forever to get them. I worked 12 years in restaurants and this was all ridiculous. This really falls on the manager's incompetence. And in any restaurant I've ever worked in we would have comped something or given something to compensate for the mistake. No, just a very insincere "sorry". read more

Ordered mobile and waited inside for 45 min AFTER it was supposed to be ready. after waiting 35 min, manager came to tell me that they were out of ribs. waited another 10 min. Over an hour in total. Will NEVER order from here again. Food is good, not good enough to warrant being ignored. I understand being slammed, but would appreciate a heads up in the beginning other than "they are still working on it". Addendum...got home and unpacked the order and missing two sides. The food is great but the bar area (bartenders are slow and seem like they have not bartended before). They have troubles everyday and if there is a request they do not accommodate. Honestly need to make changes there. They also need to change out their beers. Not a great selection. I would rank their meats as follows 1. Brisket 2. Ribs 3. Pork 4. Turkey 5. Sausage 6. Chicken. Their chicken has not been good in three stops here. Hope they work out kinks. Ambiance could be better but it is a bbq spot. It is pretty soulless. read more

The wait was worth it. This is quality bbq with good choices for meat and sides. I've had brisket, pork, chicken all excellent. The quantities are excellent and sauces are all good, reg, hot and white. Orders come out quickly even at peak hours. Must try read more

We have been waiting for this place to open since it close to the house so the location is great. I got the brisket plate with baked beans and baked apples which was good. The honey fire seasoning on the fries is really good. The service was great, Hannah was very helpful and attentive. read more
