    Super greasy, soggy fries.
    Angela B.

I had high hopes for Gabby's, but unfortunately, my lunch did not live up to the hype. First off, my order was incorrect. I should have checked the bag before I left so I could have caught it. Oh well. The burger was just okay. It was not well-seasoned, so it was pretty bland. I did like the bun and it did hold up, so that was a plus. My husband got the burger of the month which had chili, onions and cheese on it. He said it was only "eh" and would not put the burger in his Top Ten. Then fries were soooo disappointing. They were so greasy, the paper bag they were in almost fell apart from the grease eating away the bag. The fries were super limp, not a hint of crunch. A baked potato has more texture than these fries. Two burgers that came with sides for over $40? NOT WORTH IT.

Gabby's Burgers and Fries is an amazing spot for a greasy cheeseburger and French fries in the Nashville, Tennessee. I walked in a bit after eleven o'clock on a Saturday morning and the place already had a considerable line. I took my place in line and was greeted by a very friendly gentleman. I ordered the Gabby Burger, which was a double cheeseburger (hey,go big or go home) and I would call it their signature burger. For my choice of cheese(s), I went with cheddar and pepperjack cheese. I grabbed a table and my order was brought to my table in a pretty quick amount of time (especially considering how packed it was). I went to the sauce bar and tried multiple sauces. I probably liked their chipotle ketchup the best and thought their regular ranch was a bit weak, but the other sauces were good, including their Dr. Doom ranch sauce. The burger and fries were both pretty spectacular. Definitely a restaurant to check out in Nashville if you are craving a burger. The restaurant is pretty small and tight, but it has a cool vibe and ambiance. This is one of those places that kind of screams of another time and a very different part of an old Nashville, Tennessee before it grabbed a more neon driven and touristy vibe. I would definitely recommend a visit here and ultimately will give it five stars overall.

Why I have I been sleeping on this spot? I kept thinking I need to go and now wish I had years ago! What a gem! I got lucky with a spot right in their lot, but there is free street parking down Humphrey's. This is a cute small stand alone business that has indoor and outdoor seating, it's cozy and has a nostalgic small town family owned burger joint feel. First of all, the culture here is amazing - "welcome, welcome" from almost the entire team when you enter - what a warm greeting. The people and quality over profit mindset I read about in Doug's story on their menu makes me want to return 1000x - thankfully, I live and work within 5 mins of here. I noticed and appreciated first responders, military, and law enforcement get 20% off. The quality - GRASS FED beef - yes, I am here for the benefits & taste - OMG, so rich, tender, melt in your mouth - it was truly one of the best burgers of my life! As this was first time here I went with their top choice Seamus (SHAY mus) with everything and they let me mix the fries to try both the basic french and the sweet Initially, I thought the fries were a bit too soggy/greasy for my liking, but it was such a killer flavor that it wasn't an issue - maybe also bc I had gotten it to go v. dining in maybe made them hold moisture. Also, idk what oil they cook the fries in, but it tasted clean and like a healthier quality than other restaurants I have been in. I did get a few of their housemade specialty sauces from their self-service and loved all of them - I forgot the names but the secret sauce, the ranch one, and spicy ketchup which the ketchup being my favorite of all 3. And, on my way out "see ya tomorrow," from one employee and "take care, Liz," from another and honestly their enthusiasm and kindness made my day and makes me want to come every lunch break for a mini encouragement session with my meal, lol. This team hit it out of the park and was consistently warm to everyone coming and going, the food was hands down all that you'd want and more! I might just see them tomorrow!

I've been burger hunting in Nashville trying to find the best burger. This place had a lot of hype and I had high expectations. The staff and service were great. The place was small, but fun. The food however, was disappointing. I had a double cheeseburger. The meat had no flavor and no texture. It tasted like they just took ground beef and set it on the grill and removed it as soon as it hit temperature. There was no seasoning in the meat, no sear on the outside of the patties. They were just lifeless. The fries were also very bland. Soggy, not crisp, no seasoning on them. The food looks good in the pictures and looks good when it arrives on your table, but it's surprisingly bland.

The hype is real. This was recommended by my hubby who's lived in Nashville for 14 years. It is one of the best burger place in town. It's little tucked away so it could go unnoticed but this place is no secret anymore. Tried their Bacon Swiss burger and it was amazing. Their fries, so so good. Service is quick. Plenty of sauces to try. They have plenty of outdoor and indoor seating. Go try some!

6/28/24 - 12:10 Whenever I take a trip, I do my best to find some high quality locally/family owned restaurants. Gabby's Burgers certainly fits that mold and quickly got on my radar. I liked what I saw in terms of description and reviews so we made it a priority to visit for lunch on the way to Gibson and the Broadway area. The place was packed when we arrived around noon... obviously very popular for lunch, and I got the impression that most of customers were locals rather than tourists like we were. The guy at the counter was very friendly, asked if we'd been there before and shared a few details with us. We put our order in - BBQ Burger w/ fries, Bacon & Swiss burger w/ pasta salad and a cup of chili. Once we got our order, the challenge was to find a place to sit. Nearly all seats were taken, but one of the waiters helped us out a bit... putting two stools together at the counter behind the door into a side room. Certainly not the best view in the house, but it was fine... we were happy to figure something out - and, since that location was also used for paper towel storage, we were well covered if any spills happened. I have to say, the burgers were some of the best I've had anywhere. The meat was high quality, grass fed beef, buns very fresh and "just right" and veggies on point as well. My burger was done just the way I liked it (lil pink) as was my friend's (she ordered hers well done). The chili and pasta salad was great too... I was asked if I wanted cheese and onions on the chili, I said "yes" and they were good additions. The onions were fresh and strong, not for the wimpy! Overall, great meal... I've already recommended it to others.

I've wanted to try Gabby's for a while and finally had the chance to! The parking can definitely be tricky, but luckily we found street parking! The workers inside are super nice, and there were plenty of spots to sit even during lunch hour! I decided to get the Seamus burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was perfectly cooked and was super tasty, although I would've loved some more cheese! The sweet potato fries were also great and unique, as they weren't like your typical fries! My favorite part was the homemade sauces they have to pair with your burgers and fries. The secret sauce is delicious and so is the homemade ranch!! We had a great meal, and I'm looking forward to going back.

When you walk up, it gives a good burger joint from the outside . Upon walking in, there was a warm welcome from the cashier. Joyful and fun! We took our time to get to know the menu but ultimately went pretty classic with the Seamus and BBQ burger. The winner of it all = the sweet potato fries! Another win = the sauce bar!!

Double cheeseburger, mustard, mayo, ketchup and fries.

My wife took me to Gabby's for my birthday around noon. It was quiet at first but started to fill up closer to 1:00 p.m. Parking is limited, and there's quite a bit of construction in the Wedgewood-Houston area, so plan accordingly. I ordered a double cheeseburger with fries and a drink. Like most places these days, the price for two meals was a bit on the higher side, but not unreasonable. I like to keep my burger simple -- cheese, ketchup, mustard, and mayo -- and I was very pleased with how it turned out. The patties were hand-shaped rather than the typical uniform rounds, giving them that homemade touch. Some reviews mentioned the burgers lacked seasoning, but mine was perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Gabby's has quickly become one of my favorite spots, especially since other burger places, like The Pharmacy, have gone downhill recently. Definitely worth checking out to see what you think for yourself.

Chili Burger with grilled onions and jalapeños added. Also, half & half fries. Delicious and filling.

Always a delicious lunch! Great burgers, fries, and shakes! Their grass-fed beef burgers are delicious and always cooked perfectly. I love that you can add basically any toppings to any burger. My wife really enjoys their veggie burger, but I've never tried it. The restaurant is decorated in a fun way with lots of cool stuff on the walls. More often than not, your order will be taken by Jack and your food will be delivered by Tessa. Both are super nice, thoughtful, and extremely helpful. Don't be afraid to ask them any question you may have. Gabby's French fries and sweet potato fries are hand cut and delicious. The sweet potato fries have the skin on them, which gets crisp, and pairs well with the nice caramelization on the sweet potato fries. I have 2 fry related tips: First, you can order your fries half potato and half sweet potato. It's great because you get the best of both worlds. Second, if you're like me, you're always wondering what the best dipping sauce is for sweet potato fries. Well, let me tell you, Gabby's sweet (honey) mustard sauce goes perfectly with their sweet potato fries. You should give it a shot, even if you don't like mustard. The sauce has a nice sweetness that really complements the sweet potato fries. It's the only yellow sauce on their awesome sauce bar. And, before you order, don't forget to ask for the Secret Menu...

My husband has been raving about this place for the last couple of years. He was finally able to take me. The place is packed inside & you're lucky if you're able to nab a table. The staff was friendly. The grass-fed burger was yummy & lived up to the hype. The sweet potato was a little too greasy for me but it was seasoned well.

    Yum. Those fries were delicious.

Dang, that was a legit burger!! Big, juicy, fresh toppings with delicious specials sauces available. The Bruce Mathew's Special Sauce was excellent. It was like a Big Mac dressing except much better and fresher. I got the Gabby with Sweet Potato Fries. So good and huge. I couldn't finish it. Parking seemed limited, but I got a space in the lot without issue and the 2 cars behind me did too. It is definitely a hole in the wall burger place with excellent quality and service. It is small too, but it all adds to the culinary experience. I highly recommend.

Seamus burger with Swiss cheese, grilled onions and fresh lettuce- excellent choice. Fries melt in your mouth- get the sauces !!!

Simply the best ! Love the happy, friendly workers who greet you when you walk in- makes you feel like they're glad you are supporting their business. How rare these days. The funny signs and local sports teams paraphernalia hung all over the walls and ceiling give you something fun to look at while you wait for your delicious burger and fries to arrive. As good as the food is ( my fave is the Seamus burger) the fruit tea is out of this world! I usually drown myself in it as there are free refills. You can't make it this good at home. Excellent local place but very sure to check their hours before heading there! Highly recommend.

The Finch is everything you could want in an upscale restaurant: great atmosphere, great food,…read moregreat service! We had a larger (10) group celebrating two birthdays and the staff handled things without breaking a sweat. We arrived a few minutes late for our reservation but it was no bother as our table was still being prepared. On that note: highly recommend a reservation, this is a popular place! Once we were seated we had the pleasure of Nichelle, a wonderful waitress. She was on top of everything we needed or wanted and we had very little wait time for her return. Great service! And the food... DELICIOUS! As you can imagine, our group of ten had a good selection across the menu and there was not a single person who was disappointed. Everyone loved their amazing food. What tops everything off is the atmosphere here. It's popular so, as you can imagine, it's a bit noisy. However, I like to call it "lively". And they really nailed the physical design, so inviting and upscale. I'll stop there and simply say: check this place out, it's great!

She even went out of her way to get me a drink that had fallen off the menu a few weeks prior, a delightful cucumber spritz. The ambiance is awesome. As others have said, music isn't too loud, just pleasant in the background, so it would be ideal for having a conversation. The space is open, bright, light-filled, and stylish. Parking is in a private lot behind the restaurant and they validate parking for up to two and a half hours. I wish I could rave the same way about the food. While the cocktails were refreshing and they had a cocktail for every palate, my steak and eggs was bland. It came out a little closer to rare than medium, but I can live with that. But I am not sure I detected a speck of salt or pepper. The steak was at least tender and the sunny side up eggs were cooked appropriately. The potatoes were dry. And I did have the wagyu meatball appetizer. It's a large portion, so easily shared amongst two or three people. Cheesy and saucy with a little spice. The focaccia could've been toasted a little more. I considered the short rib hash, but my server told me it could be salty and hit or miss (I appreciate her honesty and she 100 percent should be praised for it). I came during brunch (even on a weekday). They also serve French toast, desserts, oysters, burrata, potstickers and tuna tartare, salads, burgers and other sandwiches. If you come for lunch or dinner, you can also get grilled salmon, blackened redfish, shrimp and grits, pastas (cajun chicken, pappardelle bolognese, tortellini) as well as various cuts of steak. It's conveniently located right across from the Frist Museum and is part of the Union Station Hotel. I would try this place again for dinner, but would skip the brunch. And again, Savanna was top tier! She deserves all the flowers!
