I got to try this place for a work lunch with my coworkers last week for the first time! You walk in and order at the counter and then they give you a number and you can sit at a table. If you want to skip that you can sit at the bar and order that way with less of a wait. They do serve their burgers separately from their sides (fries). I got the Goodnight/ Good Cause burger with no onions and it was phenomenal. I was so hungry and it tasted so good I inhaled it. We shared three types of fries with our group, original, sweet potato and the Parmesan fries. They were all delicious but the sweet potato fries stole the show. Parking is available on the street if you're lucky or there is a metropolis garage behind the building. We ordered the Diablo burger , Doddy Melt and the Parmesan truffle fries. I'm glad no fries come with the burgers because ordering the parmesan truffle fries could probably feed four people. Speaking of the parmesan truffle fries, it's shoestring fries with Parmesan and truffle topping. It's okay but it was recommended as the top seller and for some reason I feel like there was plenty better fries on the menu. The Diablo Burger was everything it should have been. I've been coming to Hopdoddy for about four years now. I've brought friends, dates, coworkers, emotional breakdowns, celebratory drinks, and at least three different "I'm starting my diet tomorrow" speeches. This place has seen every chapter of my life except my tax returns. And somehow, against all odds they have never disappointed. I'm talking hundreds of visits. Not once have I had bad food, bad service, or even a mildly suspicious fry. The consistency is honestly unsettling. At this point I trust them more than I trust my own decision making. The real stars, though, are the staff. Every single person is ridiculously nice, helpful, and somehow still cheerful even when I walk in looking like I just lost a fight with Monday. They go out of their way to make sure you're happy, comfortable, and fully supplied with burgers the size of minor construction equipment. I genuinely hope the owners are paying these people extremely well, because the level of kindness happening in this building is worth at least three raises and a holiday bonus. If they ever start accepting appreciation payments in the form of spare organs, I'd like management to know my kidneys are available (lightly used, premium condition). Whoah! This place is GOOD! Stopped in here based on some of my fellow yelpies feedback. Located in the heart of Nashville I was in the mood for a good burger and I found it. There is a parking garage right next to it but sadly you do have to pay to park. The restaurant across the street does valet but this one doesn't. When you walk in you order at the counter. Luckily there wasn't anyone of behind me because the options are crazy! Literally everything sounded amazing. I landed on building my own. Also ordered fries. I wanted a side salad but they only had large salads like for your meal not side salads. They deliver your fries right away so you have something to snack on while waiting for your burger. Once the burger came, man it was good. They have signs saying they use organic ingredients and the top grade beef, you can really tell. The price point for it was extremely reasonable as well. Hopdoddy is a reliable burger joint with A grade fries and burgers that depend on the day. My classic lettuce, tomato, cheeseburger was delicious, but my husband was disappointed in his Waygu Smash. For the price, I wish you got fries as a side with your burger, but I appreciated that the fries came out promptly and they are open late on Friday nights. Ambiance and service were average--nothing to write home about. Great dinner at Hopdoddy! Bonus points for the parking lot next door. They had a house-made gluten-free bun for our GF diner. Extra bonus points! Big, juicy, filled with delightful textures, aromas, spices....a veritable umami bomb! Why are they cut so freakin' small? A couple of shoestring-size 'taters and then (what amounted to) several hundred inch-long bites that were just too hard to grab for my aging fingers. Sorry, just not practical IMHO. Dipping sauce was delish and Chipotle Catsup .... just give me a gallon and I'll be on my way. I mean who doesn't love a burger and a sunny patio. Hopdoddy Burger Bar was a convenient spot following a Sunday afternoon walk. I ordered the magic schroom burger. Personally I felt like the temperature of the patty could've been a lot hotter. Also there was just too many liquids on the burger: a runny goat cheese + aioli + mayo+ juices from the tomato slice. There was no crunch or texture and it made it not only hard to cut and eat but also created a soggy bun. And we all know a soggy bun is an absolute no no. The service was quick and attentive. I liked how they asked if you're okay with a little pink in the burger which is their standard way of cooking the patty I'm assuming. We stopped here while we were in the area. Hopdoddy has a fun college pub vibe with great food. You stand in line to order your food and then they bring it to your table. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Yum! It had just the right amount of heat spices and a great cabbage slaw on it. All the toppings provided so many wonderful flavors in every bite. We also ordered some Sweet Potato Fries and Parmesan Truffle Fries to share as a group. There were 7 of us. We had a little taste test to see which fries everyone liked best. Both were excellent! However, I think there were more that picked the sweet potato fries as their favorite. That was also the one that was finished first. Tip for parking: There is a parking garage behind the restaurant where you can park for free for an hour. My burger was The Classic and I added bacon, crispy onions, and upgraded the beef to grass-fed. The burger...delicious! Perfectly cooked, stacked tall, and so juicy. Love the Doddy sauce, Tillamook Cheddar Cheese is the perfect pair, the bacon is very thick but still crispy, and the veggies were fresh. Loved the fries...piping hot and no ketchup needed!!! Recently I ordered a to-go order from this restaurant. I was excited to share the food with my family as they had never have had it before. While ordering the initial service was great and while the food took a while it was fresh and very good. However my grievance right now is that I made sure to ask for extra sauce with my two orders of SHAREABLE fries, the order of which already comes with one sauce. The guy that helped me made sure to add that note and I made sure to leave a large tip on top of my order for the accommodations. So I, as well as my hungry and excited family of five, were all very disappointed to find we got a very small amount of sauce. We received two small cups of sauces with our two very large order of fries, and it is just disappointing considering we waited around 20 minutes for the order itself and like I said I tipped a pretty large amount considering the check. I am just overall disappointed with the restaurant that I usually really love... - overall order was close to $75 and with tip I payed around $95-100. Hopdaddy was nearby, so we decided to stop in there and grab a bite to eat for dinner before heading home. Wow! I got a grilled chicken burger with slaw, pickles, onion straws and aioli mayo. All I can say is WOW! I haven't had a grilled ground chicken burger in a while. This was flavorful, and absolutely amazing! Nacho fries had white queso, pico, spices and sour cream. Soooo good!!
