Everything about this company is amazing! It's a family owned and run business with employees who are all so professional and kind. This was actually our second time hiring Brothers windows for our home and we even got a returning customer discount! Geoff did our estimate and was so knowledgeable! He patiently explained each price and looked for the best one to save us money. I was able to choose and customize each piece we wanted installed and felt as though Geoff was very thorough! I forget the came of the employee who measured for the installations, but he really knew his stuff. He was extremely meticulous with ensuring the measurement for the trim and walkways we had were accurate for the install. It was finally install day!!! We had Jim, Rich, and Mitch show up. They were all very professional and efficient. I mean, these guys were working hard!! They truly were just really kind, laid back, hard working men! So, we did our research and chose Brothers when we replaced our windows and sliders over 10 years ago. They were a local family owned business with great reviews which is what we were looking for. Fast forward, the slider doors were getting hard to open so we called Brothers. To our big SURPRISE we were told they were still under warranty! 3 days later we had new wheels, clean tracks and doors you can open with a single finger. Wow. We decided to upgrade our windows 15 years ago. We called Brothers first and are so happy we did. As everyone knows, quality windows aren't cheap, they are a commitment! We had about 8 windows done the first time around. They were installed by Jim and his team and were wonderful. Installation happened to fall on our twin's 2nd birthday. A few years later we did another 8-10 windows. Jim and his team were again wonderful, polite, cleaned up after themselves, and did a great job. Today we had them finish the final 13 windows. Jim, again, and his team came ready to work. Jim was reflecting on remembering our girl's birthday and even remembered how excited we were that the whole family attended. This is the second home I have had Brother's install windows in. From the very first contact on the website, everyone was professional, kind and courteous. I received a call within 5 minutes of requesting information on the website. They quickly scheduled an in person visit with the sales person. Geoff went through all options that were available and had samples to show as well. I had an estimate in hand before Geoff left after measuring the windows. The windows were ready earlier than expected and the installation crew came through and got all the windows and screens installed quickly, efficiently and left the property in better shape than when they started. I had called ~3 weeks after placing the order to change one window to obscured glass. They let me know the windows were already in and I thought I was going to have to order an entirely new window. They let me know that I would only have to order the new insulated glass and they could change it out once the windows were installed. They went out of their way to get the new obscured glass in time for the installation. The quality of the windows, sliders and warranty are amazing! Excellent work! Jeff was very attentive working with us on the initial estimate, not trying to oversell, and always responding quickly to our questions. We replaced 6 windows total. We were given a start time between 8:30 and 9:30 am, and the installers arrived promptly at 8:15 am. The team of Luis M, Jose V, Julio, and Rene did a fantastic job with the installation- took about 5.5 hours (estimated around 6 hours initially) and they made sure to clean up well afterwards and helped move furniture back in place. Sometimes you hire someone to do work for you and they just rock. Other times it becomes a disaster. Brothers is a hot mess in the biggest way. It's been 4 mos since I contracted them to replace 6 windows in my house. No communication during the 3 month wait due to COVID. Then they want to show up and with no advance notice the next day to install. Installers made a mess in my whole house tracking dirt everywhere. No booties, leaving the doors open all day. Of the 6 windows. 2 have no screens, 1 has a broken lock, 1 has no trim, 1 is missing the grids above, 1 has crooked grids. Just wow. How do you even stay in business with work like this. Go anywhere else for your window replacement! read more

I did not have a good experience. I had to continually follow up regarding the estimate. I finally got the estimate and the final measurements were done. I was then told that it would have to be done as new construction. I said fine, please send a new estimate. Once again I had to call only to be told they would not do the new patio door as new construction. I wasted 2 weeks with this company. read more

I've had about (5) different window contractors over my house to assess and provide me with a cost. Gary with Brothers Home Improvement was by far the most professional and informative. He not only showed us the windows that will be installed, he demonstrated the difference between my current windows and the brand of windows that Brother will install by going around my house with a heat lamp. Although I haven't had the windows installed yet; the product, presentation, professionalism, and quick response time that Gary showed my wife and myself are what ensured we signed up with Brother's over the other (4) window contractors. If you are looking for a contractor that will give you an honest opinion, with what looks to be a great product at a competitive price; call Brother's Home Improvement and ask for Gary! Update: Windows and doors are now installed. They look amazing but better than that, I can already tell the climate inside of my house is significantly better. My home work office gets direct sunlight from about 1pm to 6pm and I am cooking by 3pm even with the air conditioning full blast and a ceiling fan on max. It's easy to write a good review for a company when everything goes 100% right. It's rarer to want to do so when your project doesn't go so smoothly. But, in this case, it is a testament to the honesty and integrity of this company and the folks that work there, that I am providing a 5-star review despite some issues. I want to start by saying that every other window company I called either failed to respond to my inquiry or failed to show up on time for appointments to discuss my project. Each told me it was "impossible" to provide an actual appointment time and could only provide broad time windows, which they then decided were potential arrival times which they were late for, then expected me to be available for a further 90 minutes for their sales pitch. In the middle of a workday. Their receptionists were rude, abrusque, and generally appeared not to care. I was not impressed. In contrast, the nice lady who works the phones at Brothers was always warm and friendly when I called. Steven, the sales guy, made a specific appointment time, arrived on time, and provided a solid, written and emailed quote with options within 45 minutes. He was friendly, knowledgeable, personable, and professional. Brothers was not the cheapest quote I got - nor the most expensive - but this experience alone made me want to go with them. It took me a few months to pull the trigger on my project. When I contacted Steven to move ahead, he honored his quote even though manufacturer pricing had changed. Everything went fantastically and quickly with measuring and getting an installation date. Guys showed up on time for the appointment and they were done in the amount of time they promised, leaving the areas clean. Except I noticed that the wrong grade window had been installed. I called Steven right away and he got back to me within a couple of hours with an immediate apology and two options to compensate me for the mistake, both of which were fair and reasonable. No arguing the toss. I was, again, more than happy. Then, the next issue was/is to do with permits for the small window in one of my bedrooms. It's a long story and, based upon my own research, not Brother's fault BUT never once have I doubted that they would do the right thing to resolve the issue. Both Steven and Steve (installation manager) have been quick to respond to my requests and have promised that, whatever it takes, they will do whatever they need to do to resolve this current challenge. I'm writing this review without a final resolution because I am *that* confident that they will stand by that promise. As for the door and windows I had installed, they're great quality, no issues with installation whatsoever. For a project that has had a few snafus, I could never have imagined writing such a glowing review but it is 100% deserved. This company is THE REAL DEAL. Honesty, integrity, and solid people working for them. You don't find that much these days. If you're thinking of replacing your windows or doors, you need to work with Brother's, PERIOD. Even if they're a little more than other quotes you may get. Because they're 100% worth it. You won't regret it. read more

I'm really happy that I went with Brothers. I need to get that out first. I love the 12 new windows and 2 sliding glass doors that Brothers installed, and would recommend their quality product and workmanship to anyone. That's the bottom line. Full story is below: I really thought this would be a 5-star review...so why isn't it? There were enough customer service hiccups that I don't feel comfortable saying Brothers is "As good as it gets!" but definitely "I'm a fan!" We got bids from 5 contractors, and this was by no means the lowest, but we felt comfortable with their presentation, their lack of sales pressure, and the recommendation we got from someone who had used their San Jose location (there are only two locations -- one in Rocklin and one in San Jose). Frank came out and showed us the sample windows and we were impressed. We liked that the windows were made in California, and that Brothers is a family company... but we mostly liked the professionalism and that they promised they'd do the whole house in one day. They were supposed to call me when the windows came in. But, after not hearing from them by the expected date, I called them; the windows were already in. Then, the lady who was scheduling the installation told me it would take two days, not one. After explaining to her that we were promised that they'd send two crews out and do it in one day, she decided to honor that. The installation did happen in one day -- those crews kicked butt and were very respectful and pleasant in my home. After they left, we realized one of the windows didn't have a screen on it. I didn't call them for a few days because I kept expecting them to call me to make sure everything was ok, and I figured I'd tell them about it at that point. No one ever did. So, I called. No apology and, oddly, no confusion or surprise was expressed... without asking any questions, the lady I spoke with just said they'd order another one and it would take a couple of weeks. Three weeks later, no one had called about the screen. I called them and found out the screen had, in fact, come in and no one called to tell us. Everything is fine, and these hiccups don't change my endorsement of the company. I think they largely did great work, and I'd use them again, but you need to stay on them and advocate for your expectations. read more

Nearly a decade ago Brothers installed twenty-six windows, three sliding doors, and dozens of window casings at our home. I didn't do a review then because, well, I didn't write reviews; but as I'm searching for contractors to do other work, it occurs to me that they deserve some kudos ... From the sales guy (professional, respectful), to the installation (quick, thorough, and cleaned up afterwards), to the quality (everything still looks and functions as new years and years later), I've got nothing but positive things to say about them. We could have purchased a cheaper product, but that would have been a mistake for our long-term home; we could have spent more, but given how high their quality is, I can't imagine it would have been better. Our experience has been okay. Cheap price compared to others but the communication on the customer service end has been lacking big time. My husband & I are starting to feel like is this what we get for going with the cheaper guys. First we were called our windows were in and gave us an appointment, then called and said they made a mistake they weren't in yet. Then installers showed up with a cracked window (installer was a little shocked we didn't know yet about it), wrong color materials for two separate things as well. Was expecting some sort of call about an update but we had to reach out to them eventually with another answer of "waiting on the materials, should be here today but aren't yet" a week later still haven't heard anything. Over all price was cheap. Customer service after we paid our deposit 100 percent lacking. Disappointed. read more

I recently had my windows replaced in our home. I had 4 companies come out and give estimates. The first company was a perfect car salesman who constantly belittled all of the other competitors in the window market plus the quote was outrageously expensive. Brother's was the second quote and Steven was so upfront, polite, and answered all of our questions. We had 2 additional quotes who all were in the same range as Brother's. We chose Brothers for the project and have had nothing but great service since. Steven has kept me updated every step of the way, and Marissa at the office was so helpful in getting the installation scheduled. Brothers worked around my schedule for the installation, and the job was completed ahead of schedule. The installers were so polite, professional, and did a great job cleaning up before they left. From high quality workmanship to their superb customer service. Those windows and the patio door have all performed very well over the years and still look brand new, so it was a no brainer to go back to Brothers this year for the other 10 windows that still needed to be replaced. I have had a terrible experience with the installation of windows and patio doors with this company. The product that they sell is from 'Ply Gem Building Products' and they are indeed an inferior products. Every installed windows leaked water when it rained and damaged my surrounded dry walls. The patio door had hinges problems, came with wrong weather stripping from the factory and this door still could not be latched properly due to sagging doors. I do have a written life time warranty but numerous calls to fix these issues gone to deaf ears. I do have several visits by a Brother service representative who stated that this door needs to be fixed by a manufacturer representative but these manufacturer's technician NEVER show up (it has been a year since they installed their products). If anyone wants to keep their sanity and avoid headaches then keep away from these folks. read more

We had a sliding glass door replaced a year ago. Recently a family member tripped and caused the screen door to go off balance. I called Brothers to see if it was covered under warranty. Brothers sent Mitch out to check it today. He arrived in time, was professional, and quickly found the problem. Mitch not only repaired the screen door, but also readjusted it for a better fit. He then went the extra mile to ask if there was anything else I needed help with. I was really impressed with Mitch's skills and kindness. My neighbor had windows installed by Brothers Home Improvement Inc. so I walked over to their truck when they were at her house and asked for a business card. When I scheduled an appointment, Michael and Lee Mealer came to my house. I was fairly sure I was going to sign a contract. Lee sent a person to my house to do the final measurement. He sent him with a contract for me to sign. I couldn't sign it because I had to get HOA approval. The person that did the final measurement was not going to make me sign the contract. He talked to his supervisor and they agreed that I couldn't sign it until I received HOA approval. The price of the windows were going to increase but Brothers wasn't going to make me pay the increased cost. Lee did everything to get me financing. I qualified but hesitated to use it because it was only for 18 months. I couldn't afford to pay $344 or more per month to finance the project. Lee called me several times to see if I had HOA approval even though I told him I'd call him when I received HOA approval. Twice he called me but he didn't know who he was calling. I told him he had the wrong number. I called the company and told them I was not going to proceed with the project. The person I spoke to said I signed a contract. I told her that I did not. I asked her to let Lee Mealer know and I told her that I did not want to talk to Lee. He called me on April 18, 2016. I told him that I already called the company. This is when he told me that he was told by someone in Sales. He wanted to talk to me and find out why. I do not like pushy people. Their windows and patio door are well made. My only complaint is that they retrofit the patio door and small entry window. I needed new construction on these. They will not get my business. read more

They eventually got it right. This review will discuss their sales/measuring team, customer service team and the installation team. The windows do look great and we like the product. To summarize the review: SALES/MEASUREMENT TEAM - INCOMPETENT CUSTOMER SERVICE - BELOW AVERAGE INSTALLATION TEAM - PHENOMENAL SALES/MEASUREMENT: Initial sales guy was great till he received the deposit, then he didn't return calls, was difficult to reach, etc. He eventually proved to be aloof and out of touch with the entire process and I have concluded generally incompetent. Concurrently there was some type of miscommunication during measurements that required us to refuse installation of 6 windows. I am not sure why the error ever happened, but I would expect better explanations and understanding of their product from a sales/measurement team. They did work to ensure make it right and ensured we were happy with the product. CUSTOMER SERVICE: Try reaching the team during normal business hours and see if they answer or see if you have to leave a message. How many times does someone have to call to get a dependable answer. 1st Scheduled installation was last week of April....didnt happen; customer service didnt call to tell us, we had to call and ask what was happening 2nd Scheduled installation was mid May....the installation crew was great. 3rd Scheduled installation was early June.....they cancelled. At least this time they were proactive in rescheduling. 4th Scheduled installation....completed the job. INSTALLATION TEAM: The best part of the whole process. The onsite install team was great, took their time in explaining things, they were extremely knowledgeable with their product and were meticulous in their installation of the windows and clean up after themselves very well. The salesperson was knowledgeable and understanding of our needs. The price was very reasonable for the product we chose.
