We had 23 windows replaced. The project was completed in 2 days. Everyone was so nice and everything was cleaned up when they were done. Only 2 windows had small leaks a couple months later during a storm. They sent someone out within 2 days both times. We've had no problems since. I would recommend them. read more

First, they said the window color was painted incorrectly. Then the second time, they said the window was damaged and could not be installed. Besides that, three patio doors have poor-quality locks that need to be replaced, and all screen doors have big gaps between the frames. An estimated time to fix them all? NO GUARANTEE. It should be zero or one star, but Dave and his team were nice and professional. It's very upsetting, especially when you are paying almost 25K for the projects. read more

We purchased 13 windows and one sliding glass door. One important aspect of this situation is that we had just gotten a new puppy, when the sliding glass door to the back yard failed (luckily it was in the closed position!), so it was impacting many things, not the least of which was our access to the back yard for potty training! Although the lead-time was less than desirable, we understood it was the norm for the industry so we allowed for that. When the day before the installation came, (after about 3 months), there was a real potential for a delay due to illness within the installation team, but thanks to the involvement of our salesman, Tom Sams, and his management team, Halls was able to rearrange their installation teams to do our install on the agreed upon hschedule . The install was perfect and timely. The crews were efficient and made sure everything was neat and clean before they left. We have really enjoyed our new windows and doors, and they look fantastic. I was compelled to write this review today after contacting Tom for guidance and referral about an adjustment to the sliding glass door. Tom responded immediately to my email about a question I had about the performance of the slider. He acknowledged my concern, and gave me the name and number of their service department. I spoke with their service department and will be getting a call back to schedule a warranty service. We definitely feel we received a quality product, exceptional service, and have no reservations about working through any service issues with their service department. I would recommend Hall's Window Center without hesitation, and especially Tom Sams, our salesperson. read more

We had Halls put in our new windows about 6 years ago. Unfortunately. I have a leak in the dining room. I called them last year about it and they came back and caulked the windows again. I had to call them again and they came out and Juan checked it out again, and he really did a great job at taking all of the caulking out and resealing it. I just want to say how greatful I am that I went with these guys. After 6 years they are still taking great care of their customers. Great Job read more

Very high quality windows. But this is a pricier place. The quality of the work is excellent. I had some issues with get the job done on time. It was supposed to be 6 weeks out and was, in reality, 4 months. That being said, they are responsive and the work crew is reliable and efficient. read more

I needed my windows checked out because one of the windows gas seal has leaked, and a latch was broken on one window and the seal on the others was not good. I was told it would be $150 for anyone to come out PAID IN ADVANCE. I didn't like it , but I paid it. The guy came out and all he did was caulk around the windows! I don't think he even wiped it clean before he did that, because he had no rag. He saw that the window had failed and said he would report it. He did, and a couple of days later the office sent me a description of how to find the serial number of the window. It involved lifting a window out of the frame to find it. I called and said I'm not strong enough to do this and what did I pay $150 for? Shouldn't your professional here made sure he got that? Every time I deal with the staff they are implacable.and unsympathetic. Don't buy windows here. Luckily, I used a different company for the other windows in the house, which aren't giving me any problems. read more

Soooo... after much consideration and research, we decided to go with Hall's Windows and Doors for our double entryway French Doors. As others have mentioned... Hall's is NOT the cheapest, however their prices were fair and the craftsmanship of work was well worth the cost! Lifetime Warranty... THANK YOU! This is our family home... we do not live in a wealthy neighborhood, nor have a million dollar property, but it is OURS and we wanted the best. The house was built in the mid 70s, and the front doors were beyond needing replaced. Thank you everyone at Hall's for giving our home a "facelift" with GORGEOUS entry doors! I wish I could rate this company less than 1 star!!! I initially had concerns about my door install and every employee I spoke to said, " don't worry, the handle you purchased will fit." I even offered to have them take my door handle with them before they cut the holes in the door. They also said there was no need for that. Well, install day came and sure enough the handle didn't fit well and now an entire peice has broken off my brand new $5k front door!!!! They have not apologized, or moved the process of installing a whole new door fast or easy! Communication is terrible and they have no concern with how long a project will take! I ordered 1 simple front door almost a year ago.. it's still not "finished" terrible, terrible, absolutely terrible customer service!!!! It's safe to say, I will not be using them for my future home projects! read more

Buyer Beware: We had 3 bids for complete window replacement and installation. Hall's bid was $10,000 more than the other two window companies. Hall's Window Center bid Marvin "Infinity" line and Anderson 100 for our job, we also obtained bids from two other window companies, for Marvin "Elevate" line and Anderson 100. We were shocked at the difference between Hall's and the other two very reputable companies. I've seen bid differences, however, this amount is over the top. Shame on the sales person for attempting to take advantage of this busy ecomomy. read more

This was awhile back but as someone is asking for recommendations I was reminded again and think this should be out there. I had a great experience in the showroom and had a very specific door in mind to receive a quote for with work to be contracted shortly thereafter. When they came for the estimate, the guy was extremely rude to me, refused to quote me for anything other than one cheaper line, and insisted the windows I am STILL considering replacing because they are still too noisy for dual pane were just fine and I did not need to replace them. To top this off I never did receive any actual estimate. I would not say he was overtly sexist but it certainly felt that way. It's a shame they're the only ones I found locally with that door so I had to go with one I didn't like as much. read more

Looking for windows and or doors, Halls just might be your contractor. I recently had gotten some bids for windows and doors at my house. First company was renewal by Anderson. After seeing their bid I was torn between getting the work done by them while having to go back to work to pay for it, or look for another contractor. Next up was Halls Windows, I received there bid, all most a 50% cost reduction from renewal by Anderson, doing the same work. Two other contractors didn't have the time to even return my phone call. I had Halls come back and refine the scope of the work. From meeting Nora at their showroom, who is awesome, to their techs that did the work, everyone seemed to be happy, enjoyed being a employee of Halls Windows, took customer satisfaction seriously throughout the job. Other employees like Paula, Heather, all seemed to take pride in their work. Christian was a super star when issues came up, Nate, Gil, showed pride in doing a good job! I'm sure I'm missing a few employees that helped my job get done. They had two subs, one for stucco and one electrical, both were great. Almost forgot to mention the sub that finished up my project by perfectly matching the stain in my dining room, super quality work by another happy employee. Only advice I would have for improving their service would be 1. Have a single point of contact for the customer. i.e. project manager 100% in charge of seeing the project from start to finish. There was a weakness in communication, nothing intentional, but should be addressed to take them to another level of customer satisfaction. Window replacement is a big decision. It is expensive. Selecting the proper window type, manufacture, color, style takes a great deal of effort. And, the installation and retrofit comes with problems, no matter who you choose as the installer. I have a very high expectation for service when I chose a contractor. Invariably the do not meet my expectation. In the case of Hall's, they exceeded my expectation! The windows are factastic, and the crews demonstrated professionalism from each of the needs I required: sales, tearout/install, stucco and painting. Excellent customer service by Nicole! Sadly, our Aurora Jeld-Wen door was damaged by gym equipment being moved. I wasn't sure how to proceed so I searched for companies that sold Jeld-Wen, and I found Hall's Window Center with Nicole's contact information. I called Nicole at Hall's Window Center and her knowledge was outstanding. She listened carefully as I described the damage and asked questions to unsure she understood. Within minutes she provided direction and the specific contact at Jeld-Wen for taking the steps to get the replacement part. No run around - no transferring - to the point - Nicole knows her product. Our window installation project is on-going so I'll reserve judgment on installation, post-installation and painting work and only comment on their COVID protocols--they have none. Or at least they did not communicate anything in advance (either way), did not reply to my inquiry until pressed, nor try to assure us that they will take every measure possible to keep their customers safe. Really shocking. Management was unaware of the vax status of employees nor did they express any interest or desire to obtain this critical information for which they are legally authorized to obtain. They may not have been comfortable inquiring but they at least should be upfront with customers and try to reassure them that, for example, masks would be worn and other very standard protocols that have been drilled in to us. In fact, some of their employees did not wear masks at all times so I had to remind them. In their defense, the employees accommodated our requests to minimize transmission to our child and immuno-compromised family members to the extent feasible. But this should be automatic and pro-actively communicated to customers especially for such an intimately customer-facing business. read more

Meh. For a company that touts itself as an elite door contractor, we were less than impressed. 1. It began with an initial insistence that my husband MUST be present during the quote visit - as if women can't make a decision on their own. 2. While the young salesperson who came to our home was very nice, he had no experience with modern entry doors and suggested that we take time to drive to the showroom 40 minutes away to see samples. 3. Prior to our appointment, the Halls office called no less than six times to confirm we would be showing up for our appointment. 4. When we arrived at the showroom, the same young salesperson had no idea who we were stating "he has a lot of customers" and had absolutely nothing to show us in the way of modern entry doors. Basically a waste of time. We're going elsewhere. read more

I have always known that this is a reputable and honest company that goes beyond to make their customers happy with their work. I am a native to Sacramento so always listen to what other customers have said about Halls. I have been fortunate to have them replace 3 window and some stucco from storm damage. As unforeseen problems arose with my highly breakable tile roof they altered their working plan to make sure no damage was done. They have gone above and beyond to put in identical windows that will save me from the weather. I am beyond grateful to them for their quality service. DISAPPOINTED!! Used them once to install 8 windows...great job. Hired them again to install a slider and 5 windows. Not so impressed this time. Windows were fine except the screens were dented and needed to be replaced..after 2 weeks, still waiting on those. The slider was a disaster. Ordered a White door and frame with a Cherry wood transition. The transition was a piece of unprimed wood and the finish off piece at the bottom of the door is Gray, not white. Makes the whole door look cheap and unfinished. Still waiting on a fix for this and seems no one at the store gives a rip...got my money..can't seem to satisfy the customer on this one! read more

We made the plunge to replace our old single pane windows a year and a half ago with Hall's and we very happy with the product and service. Our project started with a visit to their showroom. The lady who helped us was friendly and knowledgeable, and she applied no pressure on us to commit to buy. After shopping around a bit and getting quotes from other places, we decided Hall's Renewal by Andersen was the way to go. The cheap vinyl windows some places were offering just didn't seem like they were worth the effort to install. The renewal windows are very high quality, made of a plastic & wood fiber composite called Fibrex. They are dual pane and have E-glass which reduces solar radiation. The space between the panes are filled with an inert gas as well I believe. The downside is you have to pay up for the quality and service, so the windows were not cheap. They do run specials all the time and we saved about $1k using the special at the time. The sales guy who came over to measure our windows and complete the quote was very professional and courteous. A very nice guy to work with. (Ask for Clinton R.) We actually had them initially install about 9 windows, and then we like them so much we had another 4 installed about 5 months later. The installers were professional and completed each project in one day. They had many workers come out to do specific things. The only minor negative we had was one careless worker who stepped on the edge of a patio planter and cracked off a small piece of a tile. I was watching when he did this and he said "oops, sorry" and left it at that. They covered everything in the house with drop sheets and cleaned up everything thoroughly. They provided plenty of follow up and support after the job was done, and even sent us a mug as a thank you gift. They asked me to fill out customer surveys and seem to value my opinion and feedback. Overall we would recommend Hall's and the Renewal product. The experience was smooth and painless. A year and a half later we still look at our windows with pride. read more

Halls installed most of the windows in our house about six years ago and did a wonderful job - on time, fast and very high quality work. When a small rubber grommet on one of our sliding glass doors wore out I called Halls and left a message with Dennis, Halls service manager, to purchase a replacement. The part is about the size of a 1/2" rubber washer. Dennis called back about 5 minutes later and offered the part for free. For comparison, the Anderson Window web site wanted to charge me $9.24 just for the part for a total of $16.19 including tax and shipping- all for a 1/2" rubber grommet. So Dennis deserves an award. He is very knowledgeable with the doors and windows they offer, his promptness to arrive on time; and his honest opinion on products offered is very appreciated. He is great at making suggestions for which product he would recommend. Not because of price, but because of the quality of the product. Tom stands behind his suggestions and never gives false or inaccurate information. I purchased a new front door from him during Covid. Hall's kept us informed every step of the way on the status of our door. The door was a custom made door so their was an expectation to have a wait for the door. When the team came to install the door, it went without a hitch and has stood up to everything Tom said it would. Now looking to replace windows. I was very disappointed. I had Halls come out to replace TWO windows that they had installed, I was told I had a "lifetime" warranty but when the vacuum seal failed on both windows they said warranty was "expired." I believed they would take care of me as a returning customer but at every step, once I signed the contract, $2,700 for 2 window replacements, their demeanor changed. The service was no longer very responsive and polite. The permit fees went from an est of "a couple hundred" to $301 plus an additional $205.36 unexplained charge. The inspection, which I was told would be exterior only and I didn't need to be present turned in to an inspection that they said I did have to be present for. I took the am off to meet the inspector that didn't show, because I was given the wrong time, I then took the afternoon off to go back to meet the inspector. Waited 2 hours to just find out that at some point when I was gone someone came and signed off on it without ever going in. I missed almost an entire day of work needlessly because Halls hired a 3rd party to handle the inspections so the communication is horrible. I had referred them to 2 families for whole house replacements each being over $25,000. I have since called both to rescind my recommendation. Oh and they didn't give me any warranty this time. read more

Hired the company to install Anderson French doors and sliders. Company cut corners during installation process , didnt flash the doors properly and tried to hide it. Job has been ongoing for over a year. Overall this is a shady company. they appear clean and professional but do poor work, cut corners to save time and money and most customers would never know. I used Hall's Window Center several years ago to install one small window in the back of my house. I recently used Hall's to replace several windows in the front of my house. I was extremely nervous about the project. I can't say enough about their professionalism. Their communication skills coupled with their craftsmanship are unmatched. I am extremely happy with the work they did. I did have a very minor issue with one of the Andersen windows. I contacted Hall's and they promptly addressed the issue. Christian provided me excellent customer service. He knew exactly the front door I wanted by how I described it, even though I wasn't on my own able to find an example to show him what I wanted. He was extremely prompt in replying to any questions I had. He also helped me to quickly make any inquires to the manufacturers and file any product warranty replacements that I needed. The reason for 4 out of 5 stars - my first encounter with Hall's was not positive. I had someone come to my house for a bid but he never took measurements or gave me any idea of options or price. A few days later I went to meet him at the store, he was 30 minutes late and again never gave me any idea of price. I swore off Hall's after this and did not want to use them for ordering my front door. But, they were one of the few places open and able to special order doors during COVID. Christian made up for my initial experience with Hall's and I even ended up ordering all my windows through Hall's as well. read more

We bought a whole house of windows and doors nearly a year ago. At the time, we were pressured to get the hardware, even though we hadn't decided on the rest of the house hardware yet. So what we ordered now doesn't match. We chose Halls because of the generally good reviews, but noted the disparity of reviews, either good or bad. We fall in the latter. While the windows arrived on time, when they were installed, they were placed in the wrong positions in the house, pretty randomly. This, dispite specifically walking down the locations and leaving sticky notes for each location. The people we walked the job down with weren't even there for installation, We have never taken delivery of the hardware, and have been attempting to return it for months. Halls has been telling us they can't return it. They blame Andersen policy, but others don't seem to have the same policy, and Andersen Corp hasn't been able to identify any policy like that. We have even offered a restocking fee. No response yet. I Very, very frustrated, Seems like other reviews are either ecstatic or have a bad experience. Pro seems around the product, Cons seem around the service from Halls. Maybe that's an indication to go elsewhere for your Andersen windows? Something to think about.
