They've even gone the extra mile to help us get lamb meat ground special for us to make Kibbeh (Lebanese food, family recipe!). Awesome place with down to earth staff that is extremely helpful and honest. I came in on the hunt for seafood (in Minnesota, it's harder than you'd think). The gentleman behind the counter helped us with everything, including tasting some awesome sausage sticks and sharing the fresh seafood delivery twice a week. I ended up getting 2 steaks, and 2 chicken breasts. One chicken breast seasoned with garlic butter, and one lemon pepper. Everyone enjoyed the meats! I also am a huge fan of pulled chicken, and they had that frozen and ready to pop in the oven. I made really great pulled chicken Sammy's with that. Looking for good seafood, I asked to see red snapper. Coming from an eastern coastline, it's common knowledge that fresh fish have no odor. The fish had a strong "fishy" smell. Wow, great butcher with amazing selection! I came here for the elk burger patties and left with home-smoked jerky, smoked salmon, burgers, and some ham slices. There is a wide selection of high quality meats and the whole place smells smoky and meaty--heaven! The guys were super friendly and helpful, and I can't recommend this place enough. This is the classic butchered meats, seafood, and deli market. It's hard to find these gems but the town of Maple Grove is blessed with this wonderful, local business. I come here weekly and it is amazing everytime. The variety and quality is perfect. I am a lunchmeat snob, lucky for me they carry my favorite - Boars Head brand. Their prices are very fair. Not only will you get better quality than any grocery meat counter but the customer service is outstanding. The entire staff I s well-trained and therefore are all knowledgeable, helpful, patient, polite, and attentive. Since finding this place three months ago, I haven't bought meat or delicuts anywhere else. Their frozen premade selection makes it an easy one-stop gourmet shopping experience for a family dinner or a large party. It wasn't amazing....i went in there for some smoked whitefish and it was the driest piece of fish ever...then i bought some rye bread and it must of weighed 100lbs and that was the driest loaf of bread also. i will not go there again. this was my 1st time there and very disappointed. read more

If I lived near by, Brother's Meat and Seafood would get most of my paycheck. A perfect butcher shop. I found Brother's when I needed a whole hog and didn't want to transport one from home. Not only did I need a hog, I needed one that was a little unusual, dressed it was to be over two hundred and forty pounds. The answer wasn't no, or we can not, it was if you really want that, let me make a few calls. It wasn't twenty minutes later and I had an answer. We can do it. When my co-smoking friend and I arrived I was stunned at the shop. Fresh sausages, steaks, roasts, bacon and tenderloins displayed proudly behind the glass. The seafood was stunning, the selections complete and numerous. We were led into the back room where the largest hawg I have ever seen ready for the smoker dwarfed the cart it road upon I saw the tag on the ear which read #273. We were all impressed at the size and quality of the beast and I was able to help feed a wedding celebration with the most glorious smoked hawg of my life. My grandmother often said, the praise goes to the butcher. Anyone who uses Brother's will understand that statement. When I read the latest list that touted Butcher's in the Twin Cities, I was disappointed that Brother's was not listed. read more

Not a lot of detail but my 3 experiences buying meat here were all great experiences. My first time they were very helpful in finding me the right cut and type for what I was looking for. They were knowledgeable and helpful in even discussing how to prepare and cook the meat. My 2nd and 3rd visits have been equally good. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and helpful, not just trying to pass the time and their prices are good. I have found my new all time favorite butcher. read more

I've been looking for a deli replacement for Cecil's. I used to go there weekly when I lived in St. Paul but it's just to far and out of the way for me now. Brother's is near my work so it's a convenient stop for me on my way home. I usually get the Thumans Roast Beef and some pepperjack cheese. This is an old school meat market, just like stepping back in time. You walk in the door and right away you feel at home. The meats and seafood are on display with prices clearly marked. Fresh,high quality and priced reasonably. I should add that if you own a smoker this is your place. The staff is always happy to share their knowledge of smoking recipes and techniques.
