Pulled in today, Sept 15. Sign said OPEN, but they were closed for repairs. Looks like it's been closed for quite awhile. :(

I might go to their brick-and-mortar joint one of these days, I just need the fire inside of me to subside a little. You don't need to step to me, we all know that Americana is goated. But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

We went during happy hour and got the fresh oysters, the pork belly, the albacore tataki, pork belly sliders, the Cuban, and the burger. So damn good, we were planning our next time back while we were still sitting there. The outside looks like a house so we were super confused at first, but it's a very cute concept, the inside is so quaint and there's a nice outdoor seating area.

We walked in to find a mostly empty restaurant (2 other tables seated). The atmosphere felt more like it was suited for a nice dinner date than a casual lunch but whatever - they're open for lunch. When I asked a friend about it later, he said he and his wife go there for dinner but had never been at lunch time. My buddy ordered the Grinder (essentially an Italian) and I ordered the Beef Sando (essentially their take on a French Dip). My buddy, who self-admittedly doesn't like focaccia, said the bread was awesome and sando in general really good. We both really enjoyed the fries, that were well seasoned in a savory and slightly sweet dusting. The abundance of fries was well appreciated as well. The beef sando was tasty and also a good portion. My only complaint was the thinly shaved beef was laid flat in layers instead of mounded on the sandwich (see pic). I hesitate to even say this, but it felt like I was eating Steak-umm. In general, the meal was good and filling. The service was good and value for price felt good.

Had a table of 4 and drove in from Klamath. (2hrs)…read more Ordered three steaks and a chicken. Kind of a blunder because the chicken was great too- because there's so much food I'd recommend a couple to get one of each and share. There will be plenty of either for two meals. We were served a salad first, it came with homemade ranch and honey mustard. Our waitress recommended doing both. I personally don't like mustard but when in Rome... it was actually awesome. Soup and bread to follow- the soup was a very homey style soup. I personally thought it was okay/good but the other 3 at the table loved it. The bread was fresh and super soft. Lastly the meat! And a baked potato- steak was good, chicken was good. For some reason I loved the baked potato. It was done perfectly, usually not a fan of baked potatoes. All in all awesome- as other have mentioned, no alcohol but the drinks were great anyways. Also stopped by the gift shop and got some hats and coozies (reasonably priced) Although it was a drive and the building itself is a little rinky dink- it is well worth the visit and the $50 per person. I highly recommend anyone to go try it once and make a fun day trip out of it. Not sure I'll be visiting for some time again, but will definitely tell people to go check it out!

When hubby found this restaurant, it was where we turned around last night, I couldn't believe, we didn't come here sooner, instead we went to another restaurant, and ended coming back here. (That's what happens, when you search and new in town). Flowers hanging on the front porch, and first impression display as you walked inside, got me! The plague on the wall, as you wait to be seated, all signs, we picked a good finale night to spend dinner. This time, we ordered what each wanted: Hubby ordered Prime Rib, thin sliced with side dish Wild Rice Pilaf. I ordered the Cod Dinner with side dish Bacon Pepper Green Beans. We shared a salad. And a complimentary Molten Lava Cake, with a candle on it. Thank you, Danielle! Only negative that I found? This is Prineville, Oregon, why butter from HOUSTON, TX? Is Oregon butter, not good enough, for Prineville? Also: After three nights, three restaurants, there's always the same Clam Chowder, do they get their supplies from one source, or are they from Texas, too!

The table was filled with breakfast favorites. We ordered hotcakes, eggs, bacon, potatoes, and huevos rancheros. A couple of morning cocktails also made an appearance, including Cottonwood's version of a Bloody Mary and a rum-infused mocha. The huevos rancheros had a bit more kick than expected, but it worked. Our server was fun and easy to chat with, which added to the relaxed feel of the morning. Nobody rushed us, and breakfast with friends is one of those things that shouldn't be rushed. Will we be back? Probably. Cottonwood Cafe feels like a place where locals and visitors can both feel at home, and it was a nice way to wrap up another great trip to Sisters. After we sat down and started looking over the menu, our very friendly server came to take our order. Before she did, she apologized and told us she had some bad news--they were out of a few items. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a few things; it was almost the entire menu. They were out of bread, buns, and lettuce, along with several sandwiches, including the Reuben. She even asked if we wanted to stay given how many items were unavailable. I had been looking forward to their amazing smash burger, but since they were out of buns, that wasn't an option. Instead, I ordered a parfait bowl with a side of potatoes, and my mother ordered the buttermilk pancakes. This situation is unfortunate not only for the customers, but also for the servers, who are left trying to provide good service despite having so many menu items unavailable. Sadly, this experience was disappointing enough that we won't be returning.
