Quick bite to eat on our way out of town. We were seated immediately in a dimly lit room with lots of dead animals hanging on the wall...definitely a vibe lol If you like lots of tots, this is the place, huge servings. Plenty of parking and right off the main road.

We hardly ever give five stars so take the four. But what was amazing was the service was friendly and efficient. We were served a very cold. Tasty local IPA beer. Our order came out quickly. My partner had a Cobb salad with chicken and had more lettuce than she could eat. I got the chicken strips and onion rings because why not. I ate all the onion rings and only one of the three large pieces of chicken. We had the other two for breakfast the next day. Did the core is a little dark and I must admit I've been into plenty of restaurants that look like this in the Dakotas with taxidermy of all sorts hanging on the walls and a pretty impressive collection at that. Including a moose. Give them a try. I think you'll like it.

I walked in one early morning for the first time. The bar was in the front and the restaurant was in the back. There was a pool table in the entry way. There was odd stuff hanging on the walls. I knew I was going to like this place! It had been a hard weekend, the weather was hot, my duties I was in the area to perform for work were dusty. I was looking for a good breakfast, or just a big one, I really did not care at that point. I headed on to the back and was told to sit anywhere I wanted. I chose a corner table because that way you can see everything happening. You also get to see everything on the walls. Water and a menu were set down in front of me. The menu was extensive for a small town place with some imaginative items to consider. They also had a full array of your usual breakfast favorites. Looking for something different I ordered the taco omelet with hash browns and a biscuit. Since I was hungry I asked for a side of sausage gravy for my biscuit. I have to report that the omelet was stuffed with ground beef, cheese, olives, tomato and the salsa and sour cream were on the side. That was an amazing and inventive dish! The hash browns were perfect. But that biscuit? Oh Lordy the biscuit! I have an affinity for biscuits and gravy, one may even refer to me as an expert, or at least an aficionado. Believe me when I tell you that this was one of the lightest, tastiest biscuits I have ever had the pleasure of dousing in country gravy! The fifth star, that's the biscuit star! I am glad that my duties take me down here because the Mohawk is a must stop. Such great service and atmosphere.

COVID Super friendly and helpful host. Lots to see in the dining hall, great for kids. Just amazing selections of animals and they are properly labeled! Delicious food, hubby loved the 1/3 pounder, the soup and salad is satisfying. Kids meal is a bit simple but very cheap. Overall super happy with this find along the road trip! Much better than the big town's chain restaurants.

Been by this place dozens of times but never stopped. Wish we had! The food (breakfast) was great, in huge (almost too huge) logger-sized portions. The decor was early Oregon, with dark wood paneling, wuzza-animals on the walls and these great murals that were painted in 1961. The omelet and taters were done to perfection and the coffee was hot. The service, just one guy, was friendly, if a little over-worked, but everything got done. Don't let the sort of funky outsides scare you off... The Mohawk is the "real deal" and it sure looks like it has been for decades!

Part of the famous taxidermy collection.

We had a large party (19!) and had reservations ahead of time. We took up the whole front area of the restaurant. There is a large lot for parking. A small gift shop with shirts, sweaters, cups, trinkets, and a cooler of meats. There are porta potties and actual restrooms in the restaurant. The dinner was ordered ahead of time: chicken or steak. I didn't realize there were other items that came with the dish. There was a salad, beans, bread, a potato with loaded toppings, and dessert. The dressing was some mustard dressing and ranch. The beans were like a soup-ish. The bread was soft and fluffy with a side of butter. The loaded potato had cheese, chives, and bacon crumbles. The steak was meaty tasting (seasoned with salt and pepper) and overdone. The dessert choices we had were chocolate cake, strawberry shortcake, and a butter creme brûlée pie. All the items we ate before our main dish filled me up I ended up taking much of my whole chicken home. The chicken was good a little under seasoned for me, but it was moist. The butter pie was the best desert since the strawberry shortcake needed some fluffy cream instead of a cream sauce. Service was good, the waitress was attentive to clearing items and serving drink refills. I would say their choice of drinks was lacking: water, unsweetened tea, or pink lemonade. If you aren't a drinker of one of those just know you don't have many options. The interior of the house was very old fashioned and woody. It's a small place so make sure to get reservations.

We had corn chowder next; I'm generally not a fan, but it was damn good! Then the entrees; no change from the excellent choices, but they've added toppings to dress up your baked potato (bacon, cheese and chives). Lastly, the nice petite dessert of cake with fresh berries has been joined by homesteader pie (think chess pie if you're a Southerner). Still cash only and they've added a bunch of stuff to their gift shop, including a freezer of 1875 Beef. Y'all need to pick up the phone and make your reservations; you'll be glad you did! And thanks for the great service, Dani!

But this place in Bend... this is serious burger territory. First thing you notice: they're not messing around with the menu. Just burgers that understand what a burger is supposed to be. Double patty. Brioche bun. Cheese doing its job. America. I ordered The O.G. because I respect tradition. American cheese, caramelized onions, burger sauce. Simple system. Works great. Like a pickup truck that starts every time. My buddy got The Popper which is basically what happens when a jalapeño popper and a burger start collaborating. Bacon, jalapeño cream cheese, ranch. It looked like something a scientist made to test the limits of happiness. Fries were solid. Soda cold. No weird nonsense. Just burgers doing burger things. Only reason it's 4 stars instead of 5 is because if I lived closer I would probably eat here too often and that feels medically irresponsible. I'd give it 6 stars if Yelp understood burgers better.

It's really kind of the only breakfast restaurant spot in this little town. The service was very friendly. We're not from here and we felt treated like we were friends or regulars. They have a good country music playlist that plays on the speakers on a good level where we could comfortably carry on a conversation at the table. The menu was hard to read due to its format of all capital letters smashed together but it was fine. Prices seemed high for a little town. Coffee seemed a little watered down but it was always filled up when it was getting low. That's all the "bad" there really was. Food came out and I think it justified the costs. They didn't skimp on portion at all. Toast wasn't homemade but they toasted it just right with the perfect amount of butter. The filling on the 3 egg omelette was plenty! Hashbrowns were of abundance. It had a good crisp on the outside and was soft inside. Ham was grilled great and not too dry. Gravy was tasty. No complaints about this place and my stomach is happy.

One thing we didn't get but looked awesome: I don't know if we missed out on some gem, but so many people were getting the burgers/fries from one truck. Also, so many other people were getting stuff from the Thai truck. And to top it off... the beer/cider station had an awesome deal. For about the same price you'd pay for a typical pint, they pour about 20 ounces of happy beverage into a taller than I expected glass.
