I've read some taco trucks around the same area where they'll say that they have, "Hands down best tacos" but those other yelpers haven't tried Brothers yet because this to me is HANDS DOWN best to me. To start off I got the California Burrito and sometimes places who sell this stuff will throw it in there and the fries will be soggy but not this one. I ate it at home which was about a 7 min drive and three min walk to my apartment and the fries were still crunchy! I had a surf and turf burrito, bean and cheese burrito, al pastor tacos and birria nachos. The surf and turf burrito did not have much surf and too many French fries. Bean and cheese burrito had runny beans and hardly any cheese. I like my refried beans to be thicker and there should be a decent amount of cheese. The tortillas were ok. Al pastor was dry. It was not bad and did not have tendons or anything but not great. Birria nachos were not bad and this was probably the best dish but I was fairly underwhelmed by the rest of it by the time I got to the nachos. I'll reassess in the morning when my wife tries the nachos as she is the real nachos and birria connoisseur. If still at 3 stars then that's what she thought too. Presentation was very nice and I guess I got pretty excited when I saw that but was subsequently disappointed with the flavor and ingredients compared to the presentation. Guys in truck were nice and quick. It would not be a bad option if you are out and nearby and not interested in searching or too late for other Mexican but I don't think I'd seek out brothers tacos. Others seem to really enjoy it so maybe I am just missing something. Maybe worth a try if you are nearby - decide for yourself. For me, this is not a 5 star truck - maayyybbee 4 star but not 5 at least from what I paid for and ate. Brothers tacos. Located off stark and beach blvd. I saw. I stopped. And I'll be honest I wasn't too excited. But when the food came out. It was really good Loved the pastor. Already planning my next visit to Brother's Tacos and am so glad to have spontaneously stumbled upon this truck this past weekend. Was at the Christmas market in the Old World Village but wasn't too keen on the food there which ultimately jet setted my Yelp search to find a local spot for dinner. Came up on Brother's Tacos and couldn't have been happier. Ordered a variety of items ranging from tacos, burritos, to asada fries and everything was above par. The convenient salsa bar was clutch as we stood at the truck and showered our meal with sauces. We must have said "this is so good" to each other at least 7x while eating at the truck. Why? From the moment I walked up the staff was super nice and I felt really welcomed. I ordered the pastor fries as well as three tacos, one Pastor, one Carnitas, and one birria. We found this spot on Yelp and so glad we did!!! We were looking for new places to try and came across this gem. We phone ordered with a very very nice gentlemen both times, he was super sweet and very efficient. We ended up ordering al pastor fries, extra well done and let me tell you - it did not disappoint. 10/10. Fries were crispy, meat was flavorful, and the portion is not stingy, aka VERY generous!!! They are very popular on Instagram with 14k followers, but I don't understand why they weren't on Yelp before. Anyway, I like their tacos and quesadillas a lot. I've only been to this place once and it was months ago, and out of the blue I felt like looking it up. How can this place only have 7 reviews? I had to make myself review number 8. Ok down to business...in LA there's so many Mexican food choices it becomes all a blur. Usually your go to place will always have at least one thing on the menu that was subpar but that one burrito or taco experience brings you back. Well this place? I stopped by at 11:30pm on a Tuesday. A lot of other taco places are closed at this time. It also rained a bit today and is scheduled to rain tomorrow. They get credit for simply being open, is what i'm trying to say. I ordered 4 tacos. They were served nicely wrapped, spaced out on a decent quality styrofoam tray. It was easy to open and easy to eat. Anyone that regularly gets street tacos in LA knows how just about every place tries to cram 5 tacos on a rinky-dink bottom-price paper plate. Getting all your shit crammed onto the plate and then navigating the food is like a difficult algebra equation. Brother's tacos? It's easy. Maybe you don't have this problem because you only order 1 or 2 tacos at a time. If so, I don't like you. Unless you're just used to ordering tacos in Mexico, where that's how they do it. The taco's were strong with accurate, pronounced flavors. 8/10 on taste, 6.5 for portion size. Maybe the portion size is okay for the price ($2/ea), i'm not sure, I don't really get tacos at trucks and stands that much anymore. I would be happy paying more, like $2.50+, if the serving size felt better. I think this business would do better if they charged more and upped the serving size. I come here all the time. Depending on who's working the register, some will let you substitute stuff in your burrito some won't. Some will charge you extra for substituting and some won't. Inconsistent service. Not letting you customize your burrito to how you like it is wild when a chipotle is across the street is wild. read more
