Nicole did an amazing job, modifying our order to meet our dietary needs. . Food was done as per the order modification. It was delicious and perfectly made. Johny was also very staff on their team, he brought our food out and explained to us. He also kept on checking on us that if need anything else. All in all great food, staff and warm inviting restaurant. COMPLIMENTAs to the whole team!!!

I have been hearing great things about Que Vida for a while and decided since I was in the area to give it a try. The first thing I noticed was that the restaurant was light, airy and open. There was a friendly hostess behind the counter by the name of Jessica, who was quite helpful, especially since it was my first time in the restaurant. I told her I was a vegan and didn't notice many choices on the menu. She then directed me to the items that they did have and she told me that they would be more than happy to remove dairy items and make substitutions as needed if that's what I wanted. For my first go around I just tried the salsa flight, the birria sauce, refried beans and red rice. All of the food I ordered was delicious. I plan to go back with my family so that they can try it as well. They are meat eaters, and I'm pretty sure that they will be able to really enjoy what they serve here. Overall, it was a good experience and I do plan to return.

By far this place was one of the highlights of our vaca in OC. Our server was so nice and helpful when choosing what we wanted to drink and eat. The food is absolutely amazing here and well priced imo. If ever in HB again we will repeat here again. Don't miss out on this amazing restaurant. Enjoy!

Looking for a new place and stumbled onto this gem. We went for happy hour and got the carnitas tacos and they were fabulous We also got modelos and a margarita We shared on of the best queso fundidos we ever had The dip was bubbling hot and had chorizo grilled onion and grilled bell pepper strips and homemade tortillas A definite must try

Johnny (in the back with our plates) and Cesar took great care of use and the food is way good. Great place.

One fantastic, shredded chicken taco what's not to love? Don't forget the Corona and you can order and pay at the table.

You can sit inside outside, covered patio or outside open air very nice Probably the most diverse taco selection I think I've ever seen (and I'm Mexican! ) Alberto was a fantastic server. A nice casual experience and a great plus for the Albertsons' Center. ¡Gracias!

The ceviche is good! Lunch again and the service was quick and friendly. Sat outside and enjoyed the weather.

I just discovered this restaurant with my family, and it's a real gem! The food is so authentic Mexican. I've been to tons of fancy restaurants and local Mexican spots, but this one is definitely my favorite. I was so impressed with this little place and found out they have other locations nearby. The food was amazing--from the salsa sauces to the tortilla chips, tacos, and desserts. The margarita was delicious and tasty. Everyone was so nice and friendly especially Jessica. They have great happy hour but the bar is small, only about 7 chairs. Good outdoor and good view of the shopping center. Definitely my spot for authentic Mexican.

Stopped in here on a weeknight in the midst of a weeklong out of towner quest for the best "Ba-ria tacos" (per pronunciation of my Native YN). Edwin and Maria were friendly, knowledgeable, conversational, and professional in their everything. Apparently it's "Be-rria" tho, and the ones here plus more be f--kin fire, like such good ingredients and final presentation. Same for cocktails. Not as expensive as you'd think per person if you wana eat and feel proper. Be back. --- Went back again.... shout out to Dakota and Big T

Bright, fresh, and welcoming--first thing you see is the big ¡BIENVENIDOS! counter with aguas frescas in giant glass jars and staff who greet you like family. The salsa bar is --green salsa (my fave), pickled onions, radish, cucumber, cilantro--plus warm salted chips and handmade tortillas. I had the Que Vida Burrito with chicken (tender grilled white breast, big juicy cubes) and customized it--no cheese, added cabbage + guacamole. So filling, fresh, and flavorful. My girlfriend's chicken + steak tacos were just as good, especially loaded up with salsa bar toppings. Dog-friendly patio, great service, and authentic vibes. Oh--and they serve fresh churros. I didn't cave this time (trying to be good), but when I saw someone order them, they looked dangerously delicious. Next time for sure.

Two beef tacos with refried black beans and rice

Third time here in two weeks. This time my hubby wanted tacos so he got two beef tacos either refried black beans and Mexican rice. The taco shells were perfectly crispy and the tacos were loaded with delicious beef! Best beef tacos he ever had, he said. My shrimp salad was delicious as usual. And service was, as usual, friendly and prompt.

    Daryl B.

Foods alright. But in what world is this ok to pay for a combo. Felt like a waste of money to add rice and beans. Sad

    Irene C.

Delicious tacos! We enjoyed the dog friendly outdoor patio. Also loved that we could order from a QR code right at our table. The tacos were all delicious! Particularly loved the fish taco, shrimp taco, and birria tacos. The rice and beans were tasty too!

Drinks 5/5: They have a full bar and they drinks are very well crafted. I ordered the Blue-Eyed Girl and the bartender mentioned the blueberry syrup being made from scratch. FOOD: Keep in mind that all of the dishes come with portions of 3 pcs - SPICY TUNA ON PUFFED RICE 5/5: So flavorful, not too much eel sauce as some places, and I loved that it was served on a rice cracker. Light and airy. - TRUFFLE POMME FRITES 5/5: Served piping hot and so fresh with just the right amount of truffle. - WAGYU SLIDERS 4.5/5: Tender and so flavorful. The buns were very slightly on the dry side but not very noticeable. - CAVIAR CONES 5/5: 3 cones for $18 is a steal! The creme fraise paired so well with the caviar. - HAMACHI CRUDO 5/5 - RAW OYSTERS 4.5/5: These were dressed very well. - BONE MARROW BIBIMBAP 5/5: Came out hot, crispy, and so good! Service: Everyone who passed was quick to greet us and check in with us, all of them friendly and welcoming. This continued throughout the meal, and it was awesome to chat with so many people. We even got a few moments with Chef Zach, which was a bonus! Ambiance: The atmosphere is dark (as expected) and lively, with the staff taking turns working the turntables to keep the music going. (I loved this little detail.) Food: Easily a 10/10 food experience, though due to the dark lighting, my pictures don't do the dishes justice! Head to their instagram to see better pics of the food. It was well balanced and the best dish of the night. The scrambled egg agnolotti was delicious as well and was paired with a savory slightly sour sauce what helped with the heaviness. The bad: We were recommended the house made focaccia to dip into the steak sauce but it was served 15 minutes before the steak came out so was cold by the time we needed it. The biggest disappointment of the night was the $29 tuna crudo. We should have taken the description by face value: tuna, tomato water, vanilla nori oil (we thought this might be the flavor but we were wrong. It was just oil), passion fruit. It quite literally tasted like oily tuna in plain water with passion fruit seeds floating around. The passion fruit overwhelmed the flavor profile. There was so little tuna for the steep price (like 3 sashimi pieces chopped up). It wasn't even a high quality cut. Even if it wasn't, the flavor of the tuna was somehow completed sapped - leaving just the texture. The overall pricing for the menu was very steep with small portion sizes but at least the other plates we had actually tasted good. We also appreciated the complimentary dessert that was given for my fiancés bday. The service was great as well. Looking at previous reviews, it seems that the experimental dishes are either a hit or miss

This speakeasy is known for taking your cell phone and having a no photo policy. So when they didnt take our phones, we thought we were being sneaky with taking photos. Turns out on Sundays, it is their relaxed day where you are allowed to keep your phone, and they have the side door out onto PCH open. I loved this, but also hated it if I am being honest. PCH is so loud with motorcycles non stop, and it made the room very light. It didnt really feel like a speakeasy as you could enter right off the street. We entered through the hostess stand at HQ Gastropub. I had asked one of the hostesses what we needed to do and she stated she just arrived for work and I would have to ask another hostess when they came up to the stand. Bit weird, not the friendliest welcome, but the staff inside Graceland made up for that. The hostess lets them know we are there and someone comes out to take us back to the red door in the middle of the restaurant down a hall of colored barrels. Typically that is the only place you are allowed to take a photo before you hand over your phone. Back to the service. The bartender was AMAZING. She was so friendly and just amazing. Our waitress was great too, they were both helping us out. I wish I got the bartenders name, she was such a ray of sunshine and sparkle. Literally, she had a sequin top on and the sun hitting it put sparkle across the entire room. I had two glasses of chardonnay that were delicious. I also had a sip of my friends drinks and they were DELICIOUS! We did order food, and I ordered the spicy garlic edamame but never received it. I also was not charged for it, so it is what it is. The sushi nachos were good, as well as the beignets. I am not going to share the photos I took here, because I feel they want to keep it a surprise and I honor that. I would like to come back another time when the door is not open, it is darker and more private for the full speakeasy experience.

I do want to start by saying the staff was accommodating. When I made my reservation online, it only allowed me to book for six or eight guests (I can't remember which), but I had a party of 10. They were able to accommodate us and update the reservation so our full group could celebrate together, which I really appreciated. When I made the reservation, the only available time slot online was 8:45 PM. The earlier time slots were to early for the rest of my guest , so we booked what was offered. We didn't think that would leave us with such a short amount of time before closing at 10:00 PM. We also didn't realize until we got there that they don't serve full meals just appetizers. To be fair, I take some responsibility for that. I should have looked at the menu ahead of time, watched a few video reviews, and done a little more research before booking. That's on me. We still made the best of it. The girls were each able to enjoy a drink, the guys squeezed in two drinks each, and we ordered about three appetizers for the girls and three for the guys. Shortly after that, we were told it was last call for both drinks and appetizers because the kitchen and bar were closing. It felt like the evening ended almost as soon as it began. I do wish they had either not offered such a late reservation or at least let us know when booking that we'd have very limited time to order and enjoy the experience before everything shut down. If you're planning a birthday celebration or any gathering where you want to enjoy food, drinks, and time with your group, I would recommend booking an earlier reservation if possible or choosing another venue if only the late reservation is available. Hopefully, my experience helps someone else avoid making the same mistake.
