I usually go here when I'm near in the area I alway had full confidence in the staff but today has changed all of that. I came in Norma came up to me when I was checking in the iPad asked me what I wanted I told her for my brows she said ok and just started to complete my checkin without asking me like I'm tech illiterate.. My gut feeling was to ask for one of the other ladies I have when go in the pass but I didn't want Norma to feel less then so I gave her a chance worst choice I sit in the chair I say to her before starting I just want my eyebrow CLEANED UP. She agreed and Yes.. I feel her taking more time On my eyebrows I say again just a Clean up.. this is when I knew she was not listening to me. She did My eyebrows so thin for my liking she brought me back to when I was in my Early twenties it told me so long to get my eyebrows where I love Them.. I am new to the area and have been looking for a new place to get my brows done. I was at the mall tonight when I passed by this place. I used to go to a Brow Art 23 location where I formally lived so I thought I would try this place. I really wish I could have looked this place on Yelp first (no cell service in the mall) because if I had, I would have known to avoid it. The lady who did my brows was not very polite. On top of that, she was way too rough with the thread (she broke the thread a few times) and even cut me on my right eve brow. She didn't apologize. Not only did I get cut, but she made my brows thinner than I wanted. Thankfully, they don't look bad, just not what I wanted. Okay, so...I had to calm down and cool off a bit before I wrote this review. Had I written it on Friday, I would've attempted to give a zero star rating and this would have been a totally different type of review. I'm going to start by saying I have been coming to this place for a few years now. Mary has been my go-to brow angel. She's quick, she gentle (well, as gentle as this torture can get), and (in my mind) I look and feel like Beyonce' when I leave her chair. If you're going to go to this place, ask for Mary. If there is a line, WAIT for Mary. If Mary isn't there, leave and come back when she is there. TRUST ME!! Now, about Friday. I desperately needed something done to the angry caterpillars on my face, so I stopped by and took a seat. I looked around and realized Mary wasn't there. Everything in me said leave and just wear my hats pulled ridiculously low for the next week, or start a new bandana over the brow trend, but I stayed. Why did I stay? I'm not sure of the young lady's name (average height, sort of heavy set) ,she was pleasant, but I knew after the first 20 seconds or so that I had made a mistake. It seemed as if she didn't have much experience. She kept passing over the same spot of brow repeatedly and it seemed as if she got the threads snagged, somehow, a few times. Threading is already uncomfortable, but this was next level. I knew something was wrong when she finished and commented on how I have "such sensitive skin". I looked in the mirror and had to literally bite my lip to keep quiet. I walked to the register in silence, paid, and left as quickly as I could. I wanted to cry. Not only were my brows extra thin (I HATE thin brows!! I specifically asked her to "clean them up. Do not make them thin, please."), but they were very uneven. I have a natural arch and it seems like she was trying her darndest to change the shape. I pretty much have half of a right brow right now. If it wasn't for a good brow pencil I would be totally screwed. Also, this is the first time I have ever woke up the next morning to scabs. I've been walking around all shiny in the face because I've had to apply Neosporin to my eyelids. I refuse to post a pic, I can't even... Overall, nice place, nice decor, nice people. I love Brow Art 23...especially Nancy!!! I have been getting my eyebrows threaded at Brow Art 23 for over a year (I go to the shop located in Seminole Towne Center, but it is not listed on Yelp). I am very particular about who can touch my eyebrows because one of them has a large scar through it, which throws of their symmetry and makes arching rather difficult. The ONLY PERSON I WILL ALLOW TO THREAD MY EYEBROWS IS NANCY. She is a miracle worker with that thread in her hand. I know she works at the Altamonte location as well, so whenever you stop in be sure to ask for her. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!! read more

I'm updating my review after coming back and finding my brow lady to be back - Mary! This is the only reason why I come back & the only person I trust with my eyebrows. The last 2 times I went they had special offers on gift cards & services which was new! I've been a total of 3X since I found Mary again & am not disappointed. Will be back in soon, SOLEY because she does an amazing job! Previous review I used to go here religiously being that it was very close to my work place. Holiday season came & with my schedule I wasn't able to go often. This year I've only gone 3x. The first time I had the same lady who has been doing them for a while so no complaints. The second time, there was an older lady with glasses on couldn't make out her ethnicity, but she seemed new to that location. She left my brows EXTREMELY arched & THIN. The first thing I ever tell anyone touching my eyebrows is telling them: 1. I want to keep the same shape 2. I've been growing them out I don't like them thin 3. Just want to clean it up I literally wanted to walk out of there when she handed me the mirror to look at how she left them. I had more skin than eyebrow hair... This is my go-to brow spot. It's affordable, quick, and they always know just what to do. I've luckily never had them done thin at all. They always just clean them up. There was one experience that wasn't any more or less painful, but I did have a cut on my eyebrow. And to add insult to injury she wiped my brows afterwards with a cotton ball with rubbing alcohol on it. It took everything in me not to start crying (wow it was painful after that!), but eyebrows are a tricky business and out of the 10+ times I've been here, I've only had one off experience. I'm definitely okay with that. My eyebrows still looked gorgeous, it just took a few days for one little line to heal. Either way, 99% of my experiences here were pleasant. And for 12$ I don't think I'm legally allowed to complain about one less than perfect experience hahaha read more

Since I started threading my eyebrows I have not gone back to waxing. This is the closest treading place to my old apartment so I went here often. Not once have I left disappointed. Yes it hurts much more but for me it looks cleaner and lasts longer then waxing. I continue to go here even after I moved. Convenient location in the mall, clean area and they will shape your eyebrows to your liking. On weekends tends to be more people and wait is longer. There are two chairs but every time I have gone only one person working, even during busy times. read more

It had been a long time since I have been back to Brow Art 23. The last time I was here I swore I would never return because of the horrible job they did on my brows. Misshapen and uneven is putting it nicely. It took months before I felt comfortable with my brows again. But I decided to come back because all my friends are walking around with these amazing brows from Brow Art 23. So Im giving it another go. I went in early Monday morning with no wait I got sat right down. The woman doing my brows never asked how I liked my brows or if I wanted them thick or thin. I usually like a mini consultation so we know we are both on the same page as far as what I want my brows to look like. I told her please just clean my natural arch, please do not change the shape. She was gentle and seemed to know what she was doing. It did not take her very long to finish and my brows looked nice and clean. Not out of this world amazing but presentable. How do you girls do this stuff?! The things you do for beauty... I always complain about my big bushy Italian eyebrows so finally my wife convinced me to get "threaded". She took me to some decent looking place, conveniently tucked away in a corner out of sight of any manly men who might catch me getting my brows done. Obviously, I walked past 3 times, scoping the place out to see if it looked safe to enter. Upon seeing nothing but girls, I said "nope" and started to walk away, when I noticed a big burly Thor looking dude siting there. I decided that if he wasn't just waiting on his wife/ girlfriend and was actually about to get some manscaping done, then I'd go in. I mean if he could do it, I could do it. Sure enough, when the girl who was being threaded was done, he got up and took her place, so I took a deep breath and proudly walked in and sat down. I cooly ignored all the women staring at me, pretending to text. Before I knew it, it was my turn. I told her it was my first time and that I just needed to be cleaned up. She told me it would be "fun" and used words like "painless" and "simple". The lady started by trimming the hair with these little scissors first. Ok not so bad. Then she pulled out this thread and leaned over me. The thread, aka pain inducing fibers of hell, made its first pass across my brow. The lights dimmed. The air became thinner. I think I even heard demonic laughing. Imagine the most bloody battle scene from the movie 300. It felt like that battle was being waged on my brows. And the noise. I could literally hear the pop pop pop of the thread pulling the hairs out. Maybe the demonic screaming I was hearing was my eyebrow hairs screaming. My eyes watered. My nose started running. I've had my leg ripped off and found myself going to that memory as a place of comfort in an attempt to escape the pain that was currently happening on my face. After what felt like hours, the woman said I was done. Apparently it had only been 3 minutes. I feebly pulled myself to the mirror. Afraid to face all the blood, I timidly opened my eyes to look. Holy Brow Art, batman! They looked good! They looked more than good. My brows were Tony the Tiger... They're g-r-r-r-e-a-t! If I bumped into myself at a bar and all I could see were my brows, I'd be taking myself home. And there was no blood. I walked out of there looking good and feeling great. And apparently, it doesn't really hurt as bad as I claim it did. I'm just a guy and we're sissies when it comes to this stuff. Regardless, the result was worth it. And who knows. DO NOT PURCHASE GIFT CARDS!!!! My girlfriend has gone to Brow Art for years and has brought many of her friends to this company. Up until today she has always had a pleasant experience. However, they refused to make it right and in return we will be taking our business elsewhere and letting others know of how they treat "baked, paying customers". During a promotional discount one of the technicians offered for her to purchase a gift card and so she did. At her next visit, she tried to use it and they said there was nothing on it. Luckily she had her receipt. And so they transferred the balance on to a different card, as they stated those cards were old. She got and paid for her services and added even more money to the card and was told to keep her receipt in case there were any other issues; the balance was $65.00. Today, she tried to use the card, unsure of which one it was she handed both over, but was told that she didn't have enough. Several shady things happened, first there was a little balance on both cards and second, there wasn't the full balance at all, third, why wasn't her history of services/payments/ purchases in the system and finally they tried to keep the original receipt and wanted us to take a picture (a picture doesn't prove she was the owner). My girlfriend didn't want to make a scene (as she's good like that), but was highly aggravated because they didn't honor the original gift card purchases. It's sad her word wasn't taken, the receipt amounts weren't honored, she wasn't respected for not making a scene and she's brought them business and tipped well. Not sure if this is an isolated incident or a scam they're running, but be aware and save your receipts (even though they won't be honored)!!!!! read more

I should have looked at reviews before going. Had conversation that I wanted them only cleaned up I don't like them thin. Straight not to much arch and not too short at outer corners. It was painful and I was left with thin archy brows that stop too short. Very disappointed. Thin brows are not good on me. I went back to discuss, thinking maybe I didn't communicate well. She repeated what I had requested. So I tried to figure out if cleaning meant the same thing to her. Blank stare. Please this business needs to remove staff that don't perform well. The reviews are clear that some employees have the talent and have good outcomes and someone is making costumers very displeased! Count me as displeased! I usually go to the location in the Seminole Towne Center, that one is great. But when I decided to go to the one in the Altamonte mall since I was already their shopping so I said why not! As I entered the store the two women that we're sitting at the desk did not welcome me at all. They both just gave me a dirty look. As they sat in silence I asked if I could get my eye brows done and the one lady just said to sit down and pointed to which chair to sit at. As she started threading she was pulling extra hard and it hurt more than usual. (I get my eye brows threaded every couple weeks) She was done in about 5 mins and DID NOT take her time because someone that is actually taking there time takes about 10 mins. After she was done and I looked in the mirror I was NOT happy. They were uneven and she took a chunk out of my one eye brow that I already have trouble growing out because of a scar I have on that brow. I did not say anything, I paid and left. She did not say thank you or anything when I left. I will NEVER go to that location ever again :( read more

For starters I've been coming here for a about 5 years now and have never tried any other brow bar since then. I've tried waxing and it seems to irritate my skin. I only trust Mary or Niveen (two ladies closer to the entrance) with threading. I've tried the other brow ladies there before and have not been pleased, it's either too thin or not cleaned up enough. Mary and Niveen do a wonderful job!!! Me personally I don't go every 2 weeks as they recommend, I like to grow out mine a bit then go back after a month or so. I've been getting my eyebrows threaded for five years at various locations in Georgia and in Florida - this is the worst place to go. (sanford location) If I had gone here the first time I would never do it again. She butchered me - and I know it shouldn't hurt THAT bad. I was convinced blood was running down my face and that was just during the threading process. She proceeded to pluck my eyebrows using her own technique of grabbing my skin with the hair whilst grunting. The worst part - they looked horrible. I couldn't even justify the pain. read more
