On March 18, 2026, John came to the house concerning an oven thermostat problem that was causing me a lot of frustration. I really appreciated how well he explained the possible reasons for the problem while running a lengthy test. He suggested only relying on a digital thermometer in the future. Replacement was possible but unnecessary and he showed me the steps to adjust up or down a certain number of degrees from the oven temperature setting. I had appliance coverage and my microwave malfunctioned. Service was slow as it took a week to get an appointment. He came out and said nothing wrong. It malfunctioned again. He came back out after one more week. He said the service board was not functioning and would order a part. Today I received a call that the service board was not covered and I would have had to take out an optional coverage. No optional coverage was ever explained. He was very polite and knowledgeable and said it was my compressor which he replaced immediately the air started working and I was very happy! We've had our policy for several years. Recently, our furnace wasn't working, we were told variable speed motor needed to be replaced. They stated this was not covered on the Broward factory service contract. It would be over $1800. Muns replaced. for $1700. We will not renew our policy. Just want to share my experience with Broward Home warranty. I was told it was a good warranty to have but here is my experience. My a/c went out. Technician says it's the compressor and is under warranty. However, they want to overcharge me for other supplies needed for the repair. Example is $1800 for copper tubing that should cost less than $400. A filter drier for $300 that should cost less than $50. 6 lb of R22 for $420 that can be purchased elsewhere for $275. It's easy to see that supplies overcharge means that the warranty is worthless. So a scroll compressor would replace the original but any future problem with the scroll would not be covered because a scroll compressor is excluded. Needless to say that I am very disappointed In the Broward warranty. The total cost of repair would be $2426.76 after a 10% discount. They did offer to replace the entire system for $9700.00 read more

I purchased contracts for two rental properties I own, just to have a piece of mind. Unfortunately, each time we needed service we were told that particular issue was not covered and there was always an extra charge. Nothing was ever fixed, I had to replace the refrigerators, washers, dryer, and last time they said I needed to replace the garbage disposal. I didn't want them to do it and charge me $275. and as I am handy myself, I went to check it and It was perfectly fine! I called the company immediately to complain and because the person answering could not give me an adequate explanation as why they wanted to charge me (disposal is included in my contract even if it had been broken), she just left me on hold. Definitely do not waste your money on these sham contracts because you will get no protection. read more

I recently had a new AC unit installed. I am so pleased with the work and the technicians, Fred and Darrel, They worked hard and in 90 degree heat till the job was done and we had AC again. The unit is working great. I have had other appliances that have been fixed or not because of age and they are always there the next day to diagnose the problem and fix it. They are fast and honest if the part is not available they let you know or if the part is not covered you know right away. They can usually order the part and replace it as the labor is free with a contract. Worth the price for peace of mind. read more

I purchased the gold warranty a few years ago. I have not had to call very often with problems but when I do call, Broward is very responsive, I woke up a few days ago and the temperature in my house was 52 degrees. I called Broward and they sent John to my house within 2 hours. John told me I didn't have a heat pump and my house was only heated with a heater that should only be used as a backup. He said all of the wires were rusted but he would try to get it working so I had heat. He was unable to repair it so he had to order a new part. Lori at the office called all of the suppliers trying to get a replacement for me quickly but it was very difficult with the holidays and major winter storm. I purchased a portable heater and John had the new heater installed 2 days later. Thanks to Lori and John, I have a warm house and I am able to have my family over for dinner Christmas eve. Not sure why I would even give them a star! I purchased an annual repair contract for all appliances. I called once in the last year for a refrigerator that was making a humming sound. The technician put a waded up cloth in the ice maker slot and said it was a faulty refrigerator. Really? Called yesterday because my AC is not working. She said a tech would be out the next day and to call at 8:30am for schedule. Called at at 8:30am. The young lady assured me someone would be out after 1:00. I explained that I had dinner plans at 7:00. Called again at 4:30 pm. This time the young lady responded by saying " you're number 3 on the schedule and he will be there when he gets there". It's 5:40 and there is no sign of a technician . The office is closed. I want others to know of my experience. I intend to call in the morning and speak with the owner. read more

I bought a house in The Villages along with a home warranty (Gold Plan). A few months later when the warm weather arrived, my air conditioning quit working. I called the company who had a sticker on my unit (I wont say what company). He replaced my filter and told me I needed a new unit. I know next to nothing about mechanical type things but thought wow, how do you make such a fast assessment. I told him that I had a home warranty and I would at least check with them before I did anything. I called Broward and they sent out a tech named Jeff. I was so impressed. My unit was frozen up and he cleared the ice, recharged my unit and injected dye into the system to see where the leak was coming from. All of this at no cost because I had purchased this Gold Service plan for $426.93. He was here for about an hour and 15 minutes. It had been my experience in Michigan that warranty service calls involve a cost of $75 to put a service tech in your home and make a diagnostic evaluation. The fact that the service call was not charged along with the honesty of the tech and the fact that he worked on my unit for over an hour on my unit earns a 5 star rating. read more

I have had a contract with Broward Factory Service for about 5 years. I have the Gold service and also have the optional service coverage for my pool motor, circuit board and ice maker among other add ons. Year number 2 my ice maker needed replacing. It was replaced with one that makes an awful racket and leaks. Year #4 my pool motor died, nope that particular motor was not covered the person answering the phone said. She didn't even ask what brand the motor was. I had to pay a pool company $1,200 to replace the pump and circuit board. read more

Upon his arrival, he tells me that the handle is broken, and it's not a covered item. Why couldn't the bitch have told me that when I called for service? The following day, Laura calls to tell me that the handle would be $110, to which I replied, "forget it." I had already ordered one for less than $10, from Amazon. I was told that I still owed the $55 for the service call. I refused to pay it, since no work was done. Laura told me that the tech had needed to come out to get the model and serial numbers. Funny, I was able to provide those via a phone call to Amazon! I placed a call 9 days ago, asking to speak to Steve, the manager-I was told he was on vacation and would be returning this week. He calls office, then states there would be a $695.00 charge to do the "normal covered repair", he was hostile and belligerent. Office staff, knowing a/c is out of freon, states, "have a wonderful day". Manager Steve Ferguson is rude, argumentative, and states do you want a refund of the policy? (Have policy 3-4 years with minimal repairs) Regional Manager, Larry Herd states the owner is my brother. Sarah (Herd) who responds to online complaints states she would inform the owner/president and have response in morning: no response. Sarah then states the VP has the info and will respond in the morning: no response. Broward Factory Service is d/b/a for Herd Enterprises Inc. If you experience similar treatment, please file a complaint, class action lawsuit. DO NOT accept a refund, force Broward Factory Service to honor the Home Warranty contract you paid for. read more

Hi guys I had to leave a review for these idiots I purchased a ac system from these guys when I purchased my home . Worst mistake of my life sold me on a expensive high seer unit I wanted the best or close to it . After installing it worked for a year and died in July I went for two weeks in July with no ac. They replaced it and it has never worked right since ac unit only has a 10-12 degree drop. With won't cool the house on very hot days in aug sometimes house will get 80 in house and never shut off. I've called them a many times to try fix it I get a different excuse every time why it's not there faults some of the dumbest techs I've ever seen every time tech shows up says he don't understand the poor performance of unit. Goes out side and calls his boss and comes back with some dumb excuse and says it needs some basic maintenance that will cost me 700 dollars and I'm like it has never worked any better than now what is cleaning it going to do. .
