I am compelled to write a review of BrowBeat Studio because of the amazing results my wife achieved. For years, my wife expressed unhappiness with the thinness and irregularity of her eyebrows. She would spend a lot of time every morning filling them in with an eyebrow pencil. She did a good job, but it took up too much time. When she first mentioned wanting to have her eyebrows tattooed on, I was not supportive. To me, it seemed ridiculous to have something so permanent done. What if one of the tattoos was crooked, too thin, too fat, off-center, or who knows what? Ultimately, it was her decision to make. When she finally decided to commit to visiting BrowBeat, I was blown away by the final result. I also learned that the process is called microblading, and it is not the same as traditional tattooing. Microblading does require touchups over time, as fading occurs. This is actually a good thing, since it enables the shape of the eyebrow to be slowly modified if desired as the years progress. My wife's eyebrows look so natural that it's hard to believe she had anything done. There is nothing unnatural about the final result. She has gone for touchups the past two years, and this year (2023) was her third visit. It's really quite remarkable. My wife is so happy with the results, and I am relieved and happy too. I had a good friend get her eyebrows done here and I loved them. I asked her about her experience and she had nothing but positive things to say about the experience, staff and business overall. And with a 5-star rating on both Yelp and Google, I believed every word. If I could give them 6 stars, I would. They did an amazing job! They walk you through the process and let you ask as many questions as you want - and you better believe asked a million questions because I'm quite fond of my face and didn't want to leave with Angry Birds brows or a cautionary tale. I did a lot of research because I didn't see a lot of microblading places with experience with brown skin or if they did, I didn't like how their brows turned out. BrowBeat had great looking brows on the darker skinned clients as well as everyone else. I had a wonderful experience and I absolutely love my eyebrows. I told my artist that I wanted them to look very natural but with a really great defined shape and that is exactly what she did. People used to compliment my eyebrows when I had makeup on them and now they compliment them because of the microblading. My artist was Tenielle and she is extremely thorough and will work with you so that you leave with perfect brows. I'm hearing impaired, and they fast talk you. They gave me powder and I don't like it. I was told After I couldn't do microblading any more. I suggest taking time to communicate better. I was very excited to get my eyebrows micro bladed because I've always had issues with them. I did both treatments and I expected better results. One eyebrow has dark tracing while the other has really no shape anymore! Needless to say I was disappointed and my artist said she would follow up and never did. This review pains me to write but I write honest accounts of my dealings with people and businesses. A few months ago, they were running a special on a new procedure called microneedling. Since I was going to be out of town for a long period in the summer, I paid a $50 deposit to hold a session for when I returned. When I returned from vacation, we scheduled a time for the procedure. I mentioned that I'd gotten darker than I am due to sun exposure and sent a picture. At this time they responded and told me that I was a little too dark for the procedure. For this I am extremely grateful. They offered me an alternate procedure which I declined because it was offered without a consultation or determining whether it would be effective for me. I offered to wait until my tan had worn off and was happy to pay the additional higher price. They were going to come back to me ....... months later I'm still waiting . This is not about the $50 that they seem to be desperate to hang on to . This is about customer service and follow through which didn't happen. I have subsequently gone to my dermatologist who was shocked that this procedure was even contemplated for me PRIOR to my recent sun exposure as I am very dark skinned naturally. She performs the same procedure at a similar price and said I would never be a good candidate - no matter how long I stayed out of the sun . Lesson learned to get a professional medical opinion before attempting procedures. On a positive note ... they do great brows. I've sent a few of my friends over and they've had a great experience. After driving 45 minutes to get to my appointment I was greeted immediately by the technician that was going to be doing my eyebrows. As I was setting my stuff down to start the procedure I mentioned that I've had them done before. She then tells me that she didn't know that and pointed to a sign that was on the wall which I didn't really read but said something along the lines of it being a different process for those new to the procedure vs those who have had it done before. It would have been nice to know that before I set aside my whole Saturday around getting this done. What use is seeing on the wall when you're already there? She had also mentioned that it was all over the website. I went through the booking process when I got home and I don't see it mentioned anywhere. Maybe if you actually look for it it's on the website somewhere outside of the booking pages but no one spends that much time when they're just trying to book an appointment. I was told by one of their associates that the technician that I booked does not do touchups and that if I wanted it done it I would have to come back. Not only that but the price goes up by $200 which to me is insane. You would think that touching up work that has already been done would be the same or less expensive. They also offered to give me my deposit back like they were doing me a favor, thanks? I've been to various studios due to relocation and I've never experienced anything like this before.
