After going to consultations with many surgeons, it was an easy decision to go forth with the surgery after meeting with Dr. Z and his staff. The initial appointment was easy to schedule, and I was very satisfied with everything from the location, affordability, professionalism of his office staff, and his personal evaluation and details of the procedure. He was extremely patient with my questions and concerns. After seeing him, I wanted this to be done ASAP! All my appointments were scheduled ahead of time. I was given specific instructions on medications pre and post-surgery, with detailed explanations of what to expect day of surgery, post recovery, and beyond. The procedure went very well; the pain was minimal and not at all what I had imagined. Recovery time is different for everyone, however, there is not a time when I ever worried about the end result. It's been 2 months. My face looked better after 2 weeks and keeps looking better every day. A questionable spot was found on my mammogram and I had always considered having a breast reduction. I decided to just do it! I had breast reduction and lift surgery, with liposuction. Two words... NO DRAINS! I never knew until Dr. Costas told me, that I had what is called Breast Hypertrophy, just another example of the extent of knowledge and experience of Dr. Costas! I was scheduled when there was a cancellation, and had my surgery one week after my consultation! The staff shared their own, personal surgery stories with me and they have a way of putting you at ease! I developed keloid scars under both breasts. Still, he did not inform me what I had or how to help myself. He repeatedly advised massaging the area with vitamin E. Keloid scarring is irritating and erythematous. The scars are raised and thick. I would not recommend this doctor. He does not take the time to evaluate each patient properly, and his communication skills are inadequate. I waited to write this to see if my scars would heal over time, and they have not. Working with him was the worst decision I have made in the field of plastic surgery. There is more, as he did three procedures, but I will not go on. I wasted my money and am permanently scarred. The lack of communication left me feeling empty, uncared for, and cheated. Please! Find someone who listens, asks about your health condition and previous procedures, gives you the facts, and treats you like an individual with unique concerns. 12/31/25. He really thought about his approach and took his time stitching both areas that were close to each other to minimalize the scarring. I remember him going back and forth from one side of the table to the other to really look at the area as he proceeded, he was meticulous. He also was very calming, talking to me as he worked. No one can detect the scar even after I point it out. About a year later, I had Moh's surgery again for a area on my nose. This time I needed a graft (gulp). Again, friends who knew what I had gone through really looked and were impressed, as am I, how natural looking the area appears. Thank you Dr. Numa!
