The vacuums are easy and convenient here. However the car wash is rough as heck! I've never had a brown bear car wash like this and was worried about my car's exterior. Super rough experience. Also employees were very unfriendly. The greeter did not want to come up to my vehicle and just kept waving me in but I wanted a car air freshener... I had to come to a complete stop and stare at her for over a minute (usually they walk over and she didn't), then just had to roll down my window and raise my voice so she could hear me from afar to ask please for an air freshener. She did not want to interact with me and kept waving me in. She didn't nod or acknowledge my request. She had her fellow coworker who hoped out of her car come over and hand me an air freshener and it seemed as if they were laughing at me which was odd and rude. It's not hard to smile, say hi, and give an air freshener but for these two young girls it seemed they disliked their job and like to inconvenience the customers since they obviously feel we are inconveniencing them. What happened to them greeting you nicely and asking you if you want an air freshener? Most definitely not returning here for a car wash. Please improve the customer service here and the rough car wash. read more

Nope. This place is pretty bad. I used to tolerate the crappy car wash but last weekend I went through it and sure enough the next day I had two flat tires on the driver side of my car because the stem valves got torn off and the sidewalls punctured by the guide rail when I was entering the car wash. I didn't bother complaining to a manager because I've been down this road before with car washes and they never assume responsibility on anything that they destroy. You would think that safety protocols would be in place so that things like this don't happen but it did so I'll leave the one star review and not go back to make me feel better about the $400 I had to spend on replacing my tires. read more

ARGH- I won't be back for the drive through car wash! I had to ask the kid to put tape on my rear window wiper. He must have just slapped it on. Later I found the wiper arm dangling, and the wiper folded like a pretzel, with a bit of the wiper cloth in it. Called the number on the receipt, manager is out, called the next day - out, tested two photos to the number I was given, nothing. We have the membership and it's so worth it! What a great deal $35/month whereas you would be paying $12-20/wash. This location is somewhat busy because the next one is Ballard or Lake City Way. The service is sweet always waving hello and putting tape on your wipers. Other locations do pre spray your car, not this one. Not sure why. They also have air fresheners available. Towels and spray to dry and the vacuum for a $2 fee. read more

I'm one of those car owners who parks outdoors year round and probably washes my car quarterly or semi-annually. No surprise that I have a huge stack of free car wash vouchers from my dealership service department. My recent visit on 5/9/24, I have discovered that the vouchers cannot be scanned anymore at the entrance gates. This has to be entered by authorized Brown Bear Car Wash personnel. Once that's processed, I'm directed to the car wash entrance where one has to properly align one's tires, place the car in neutral. and then brought through for a much needed basic car wash and completed in a few minutes. Literally, in - out - go, easy peasy for sprucing up one's ride and it's environmentally sound as the waste water is treated and not just runoff into the waterways. Lots of convenient self serve or tunnel car washes plus vacuum stations in the Puget Sound region, like this one in Shoreline. read more

Slow to enter. Some customers seem to take forever with questions and decisions. Long lines. Pulling into the car wash was organized. The wash, itself was very fast (2-3 minutes max) and the car was cleaner than before. Soap and dirt residue from the equipment remained on our car. They aren't waiting in line at the food bank. I just did the math and if I am anywhere close to accurate, they were do to make nearly 75 million dollars in profit in 2025. Does not clean car well. I have a car that's driven around town with dust and some bird droppings, but not caked with mud. Going through bear car wash still leaves dust! The last few times have been bad. You're better off letting the rain do its thing instead of wasting money at Brown Bear. read more

I often go to the Brown Bear Car Wash to use a car wash voucher I receive after getting an oil change done at a dealership.  There are many Brown Bear locations available in the Puget Sound area but I prefer to go to the Tunnel locations, and this is one of them.   On a sunny weekend, there are always tons of cars waiting in line to get their car washed through the tunnel.  Staff working at this location are friendly and know how to handle the crowds very well.   For the first-timer using the car wash tunnel, there is instruction available on the way to the tunnel, and the staff also greets and provides the instruction verbally once again right before entering the tunnel.  So, every process is quick, easy, and smooth. For your information, Brown Bear also offers a car washing subscription called the "Unlimited Wash Club" at $24.99/mo for Beary Clean, $34.99/mo for Beary Bright, and $44.99/mo for Beary Best.  I believe this subscription holder can receive unlimited car washing privileges at any of the Brown Bear tunnel locations. read more

Love this chain. They are the only drive thru car wash that gets your car moderately clean. The vacuums are strong and they have a do it yourself option too. Good customer service! For a no frills carwash this place manages to have nice folks to help you out if you need it and lots of towels and spray bottles for self-detailing. I came here for the first time and am interested in signing up for the monthly membership now! It is so convenient! I don't get my car washed often, but I've always been pleased with this location. To be fair, I'm not picky when it comes to car washes, and I don't have a lot of places to compare Brown Bear to, so I'm not an expert when it comes to writing car wash reviews. One day I saw a kid standing outside of Fred Meyer selling car wash vouchers to Brown Bear to fundraise for their camp retreat so I decided to buy a couple of passes. The vouchers were only $5, so it was actually a really good deal too. (Props to Brown Bear for partnering with different organizations to help fundraise--reminds me of when I used to try to sell Taco Time coupon books as a kid to raise money for my basketball team.) Anyway, back to the car wash--when you go to Brown Bear there's a touch screen for you to select what wash you want, or whether you're going to use a voucher. When you select voucher, a staff member swings by to take your voucher, and then it's off to the wash! This past Monday we visited Brown Bear after a road trip, and after parking my car under a tree for a couple of days. Needless to say, the birds decided to have a party above my car and my Ford was smattered with bird poop. I believe my voucher was for the most basic wash. Once I went through the tunnel, my car looked great! There was still a couple of small bird poop spots, but I'd still consider the wash good considering how disgusting my car looked beforehand. So I'm not really sure what to say first off the guy who is supposedly supposed to remove your antenna couldn't figure it out and as you can see from the photo completely scratched the heck out of the antenna holder. I got out of the car to show him how it worked and he was like oh yeah we don't really have the right tools so we just use this random wrench on vehicles and it scratches quite a bit sorry. Took my car in for a car wash on 10/4/23. Employee said car antenna needs to be removed even after I said I have used this service at this location many times over the years and have never had the antenna removed. HE SAID HE KNOWS HOW TO DO IT, HAS DONE IT, AND HAS A TOOL TO DO IT. HE TRIED TO MANUALLY REMOVE THE ANTENNA, COULDN'T, WENT TO GET THE TOOL, AND STILL COULD NOT REMOVE THE ANTENNA EXCEPT CAUSING IT TO HANG COMPLETELY LOOSE. Now my antenna is hanging out, they taped it so it can go through the wash. The antenna came loose during the wash, hanging half way out. Was told manager's hours 8-4pm but usually gone by 3pm, to expect a call the next day (10/5/23), and a report was taken. No contact on 10/5/23 so I called on 10/6/23, manager was out but expected in the next day. I left a message with the context of my call. No contact. 10/16/23 I contacted Brown Bear online customer service. Got a prompt response that the location manager will be contacted. He called on 10/17/23 asking me to bring the car in so he can take a look. 10/21/23: immediately told me that he has camera to show that my antenna was previously damaged and there is a Brown Bear disclaimer that Brown Bear will not accept responsibility for damaged to cars that are older than 10 years or previously damaged. While he was willing to show me the video close up of my car PRIOR TO THE EMPLOYEE TRYING TO UNSCREW THE ANTENNA, he was not willing to show the actual video of the EMPLOYEE ACTIVELY TRYING TO UNSCREW THE ANTENNA CAUSING THE ANTENNA TO COME LOOSE and again pointing to Brown Bear's policy. I have used car wash services many times through the years and have never had any problems until this Brown Bear location's employee caused the antenna to come loose while trying to remove it and Brown Bear is not accepting responsibility. And I thought somebody was supposed to come out with a bucket and wipe down the front back and tires but all they did was guide me in. I took my car yesterday that was covered with leaves and sticky sap from trees. I had a pretty old coupon that I used for a free car wash. It was such an amazingly efficient and friendly process. The employees were scooting around, checking the line of cars to ensure that everybody was able to go through smoothly and without any problem. They were very kind and friendly and helped me very quickly and efficiently with my old coupon that didn't work in the computer. My car is beautiful. I was in and out within five minutes. The car in front of us jammed the conveyor belt and we had to drive out with soap all over the car. We're just told to comeback we weren't given any written receipt or confirmation if they'll stick to their word. I was given the "well believe you if you tell us". If you're going to get your car washed in the tunnel, I suggest you pay the extra money and buy the Beary Best Car Wash. It's worth it. Believe me, you will see the difference as rain rolls off your windshield. I wish the wash conveyor belt went a bit slower though. I feel like when I leave, there are parts of my car that could have used those extra seconds. Self wash is nice because you don't let soapy water go into neighborhood storm drains. If you do the self wash, I suggest you bring your own bucket, sponge, and soap. Pay for that power washer water to rinse off your car, soap your car by hand with your materials, and pay for the rinse again to wash off all that soap. I personally don't like the tools they provide since it looks tough enough to microscratch your car. This is my go-to car wash spot because it's pretty close to home and it's a very straightforward process. I usually get the beary good wash which is the one in the middle, but yesterday I got the beary best since it was "free" cash wash day and the wash was $6 instead of the normal $12. The attendants at Brown Bear was really friendly and always try to wash off the bird poop before your car enters the tunnel. There usually isn't a line either so that's nice - but yes you may want to wipe down your car with their towels since the dryer doesn't dry everything completely. read more

Brown bear is a great place to go and get your vehicle washed. They have good prices and my car always comes out looking nice and clean unlike some places where there is still noticeable dirt left on the car. They offer three different types of washes: 1. Bear Essentials; the basic wash for $7. 2. Beary Good; Middle level wash for $10. 3. Beary Best; Best wash possible with wax for $13. I love the fact that they have so many vacuums so you don't have to wait a long time to use one. The vacuums are powerful and seem to get all the dirt out of the carpet and floormats. They also offer fresh clean towels to everyone, so you can grab a clean towel and wipe down your car to get the remaining water off. It's a nice little extra thing they offer to get your car or truck nice and clean. There is also a nice big self serve washing area if you are the type that likes to clean your vehicle yourself instead of pulling into a tunnel and having an operated system wash your vehicle. They keep the area well maintained, so that makes it enjoyable to come back to get my car cleaned. read more

My first time to this Brown Bear, it was a great experience. This location has the drive thru car wash or the self-serve. I used the drive thru. Super easy in and out with friendly people working. The parking lot and car wash is clean! Trash cans were emptied and there wasn't any junk in the lot or around the vacuums. The vacuums take $1 coins or quarters and a buck gets you 4 minutes. The vacuum worked really great, much better than the Dyson at home. You can pay $19.99 a month to get as many car washes as you want for a basic wash or pay $39.99 a month for the Beary Best wash. read more

I've been going here sporadically for 5 years and finally decided to join the membership club last week. I am beginning to think that was a mistake. I put the sticker EXACTLY where the man pointed on my windshield - top of the glass, just to the right of the rear view mirror. Off I went, looking forward to being able to roll easily through the entrance next time. Nope. The sticker did not work. I honked for help, just as the sign said to do. A cranky woman finally came over, sighing and grimacing and acting as if I were a huge inconvenience and a bother, and told me the sticker was in the wrong place. "But you can't move it or the sensor inside it will rip." (The sensor doesn't seem to work anyway so what's the difference?) I saw 2 other customers with stickers having the same problem and treatment. Now every time I want to get my car washed I have to go through this same dance with her rudeness? No. I will be canceling the membership. Brown Bear, from what I saw this morning and your online reviews, I am not the only customer having trouble with your sensor stickers. And having ONLY ONE employee working at a time, who is answering the phone, guiding people into the tunnel, and "helping" those whose stickers do not work, leads to a cranky rude employee and frustrated customers waiting in a very long line. read more

While this location is huge and convenient customer service skills are definitely lacking. No one offered to remove my antenna no big deal I got out and did it but I paid for the 2nd best service which is supposed to come with a pre scrub down, this didn't happen. My car is shiny but some Spots were missed on the rear tire and on the hood of the car there's grooves where there's old dirt which the brushes missed. I will probably stick with the one by my house as they will pre scrub your vehicle . 11$ for a wash. Me and my mom came to one of the location and the gate open and she went through, thinking it was a free wash when we got on the track for the wash this guy told the other to not let her go through because no payment then she was trying to get her card together but couldn't find the credit card traffic was getting bad no employees were trying to help or ask what was going on, suddenly the gate let us through she was thinking it was a free wash day she ask a question but the employee ignore her when she was fully on the track the employee stop the whole track and the employee said there was no payment. She was looking through her purse looking for the credit card as traffic was getting worse and getting anxiety attack, finally finding her credit card she paid and went through this is the first experience of coming to this brown bear car wash I don't think they train their employees to be patient and just letting people through and embarrassing trying to look for a credit card or money. Had wash yesterday and while car looked clean at first, I then noticed micro scratches and a few big scratches that weren't there before the wash.
