We really liked our first visit to Brown Dog Bakery. We were looking for a place with dog treats and were tipped off that it would be a good option. Our friends were right! Kind staff in a clean, organized store helped us explore options, and upon returning, we landed a number of fun items for our dog to sample. The grooming was top notch, but the scheduling was not. We followed our groomer here from another business, so we knew that it took 45-60 minutes to groom our dog. Our appointment was for 2:00 and they had not even started him by 4:00. We got him back at 5:00, finally. The owner said that we were not going to be a good fit for them and she offered to give us a referral, It was to a groomer 39 miles away. We thought if we made an early appointment, they wouldn't be backed up and our dog would be there at the most for two hours, so we made an appointment for a month later. When we showed up, we learned that she had cancelled it without notifying us. Turns out she was right - she wasn't a good fit for us. read more

Had a very bad experience. Would not recommend to anyone with vocal puppies as there seems to be a lot of inexperience, or maybe they just didnt like us, who knows. The owner, Anna, attempted to blame us for having a bad experience and posting a review about it. Very embarrassing way to respond to a client. Luckily I have the voicemail saved and can show it to anyone who asks about our experience. Also made a Facebook post review that mysteriously got "deleted by admin". Very unfortunate that instead of attempting to repair a terrible first impression, Anna chose to take the route of blaming the customer first. Cookie loved it and we loved it as well. They have lots of different toys and treats for your furry family. Their treats bar is plentiful and Cookie loves them thus far! Lots of different choices! We also got her some gourmet treats for Christmas! Could wait to give her a little bit now! The staff is nice and very helpful. They also have an on site groom as well as a clean self wash area too! What a fun shop. If you are going to spoil you fur baby this is the place. Stopped in on a late evening for Christmas gifts and found some really unique items and sweet treats. Don't forget to snag you yelp treat here. They have so many fresh treats sizes big and small. We ended up getting this new item they had that was cat nip spray. It doesn't work super awesome on our old cat, however took it to Christmas where there was a kitten and when I sprayed it, the kitten when nuts and really had a blast off of it. Another one star review. I used to love this place tried it again because I was looking for something specific for my boys. I walked in and was yelled hello from across the store. Didn't think much of it as I work retail and sometimes you're busy. I walked around for about 5 minutes and happened to look up at the register area one girl was cutting her hair (split ends) and the other just sitting in a stool. I was the only person in the store and they didn't ask once if I was finding everything ok or even acknowledged my presence. I ended up purchasing what I needed however the cs rep acted as tho it was a huge inconvenience. I'm fully done with this place. read more

Absolutely LOVE this place. The lady at the counter was so friendly and knowledgable and took the time to answer many of our questions. She recommended food and treats for our little 9wk old Yorkie and she gave us great advice. New to the area and was in search of dog food. We have our dog on a raw food diet and have been looking for a place that sells the raw freeze dried or frozen food. The big pet stores are very limited in what they offer so we started looking into local pet stores and we found brown dog bakery. Saw the pricing online was cheaper than in store and they were able to do a price match for us. Was very happy with their selection of dog biscuits and bones. Customer service was great too. My Mother had taken her Shitzu here and they seemed to do a good gob at a fair price. So I made an appointment for my 2 dogs hoping to save $30 per grooming based on what my mom paid. I ended up paying $30+ from my usual groomer AND they kept my dogs for more than 5 hours ;( When I made the appointment I told them that 1 dog is very easy to groom while the other has tight mid- length spiraling hair. The night before the grooming I spent hours getting rid of the mats in her hair. I told them there were 2 mats I wasn't able to get and told them to just cut them off. So, after 5 hours waiting 5 hours I called Brown Dog Bakery and they proceeded to tell me she had mats everywhere so it took extra time. When I got home I noticed that my "probem" dog dad spikes of hair sticking up randomly (literally) from head to toe. They said I could bring her back in an the would fix any issues. I declined. I took my standard poodle in just for an ear cleaning because her ears were very very dirty. And they did such a great job cleaning them. I didn't need an appointment for the ear cleaning which was really nice and they even trimmed her face up a little bit. Super awesome staff and they were very knowledgeable, they gave me great advice on how I can keep her ears clean. read more

The first thing I must give high praises to is the quality of the products!! My pup loves the treats here and I do not feel guilty or uneasy giving it to him with ingredients I cannot pronounce. It's all whole good natural ingredients, and they have an amazing selection of food for pets with grain allergies! Plus the seasonal selections are great!! The staff is so friendly! And so is the assistant staff (the dogs that "work" here. My pup was so spoiled as we shopped with a few free samples! This is an amazing place with really great prices on their products! This is truly a bakery for our 4 legged friends. They offer a variety of sizes of treats which is great because we don't have a large dog. One size does not fit all! They don't just cater to dogs either, there are a variety of cat products as well, which I was super happy to see!! Brown Dog Bakery doesn't only have fancy pet treats, it also sells lots of cool fun unique dog toys that you can't find at Pets Mart or Target. The staff is very friendly and helpful. This is the place for you if you want to spoil your pet without spending too much. Yes, it is more expensive than your general pet stores, but the pricing is still overall reasonable for what you get.
