I have recommended Brown Roofing since they replaced our roof in 2018. Recently my elderly neighbor had some serious roof leaks. She thought her roof had been done many years ago. I recommended Brown Roofing. Brown Roofing came and looked at her roof, and said that everything looked like it was a RECENT roofing job. They recommended that she find the paperwork (and warranty), and get the roofers back out that did her new roof. We helped her find the paperwork. The previous roofers gave her a 3 year warranty (WHO in the roofing business only gives a 3 year warranty?!?!) It had been 3 years and one month since her new roof was installed. Long story - but the original roofers were total jerks. AND... they would not come back out (three no-shows) to fix her roof, even though she was willing to pay. We called Brown Roofing to come back out and do the repairs. She realized her roof was out of warranty, and she was willing to pay. She just wanted the water to stop coming through her air returns! Brown Roofing came to her house, did the repairs, and DID NOT charge her!! She insisted on paying them, as they did not do the original roof. They said the repairs were minor, and they were happy to help. These folks are just GOOD, honest, kind people. And, I still think they are an EXCELLENT roofing company. Craig came out to provide an estimate to repair wind damage to our roof. Three asphalt shingles had blown off. He inspected the roof and told me it didn't look too bad. He mentioned the color of my shingles and when I told him I had some extras, he told me to get them. Craig got his bucket of adhesive and tools out of his truck and replaced the three damaged shingles. He told me I should get another five years out of my roof and didn't charge me. read more

A five star experience from start to finish! After a recent storm we noticed a small leak in ceiling of our master bedroom and knew it was time to replace our decades old tile roof. Jesse, our project manager, showed up on time and and I was pleased to know that he had done several roofing jobs in our neighborhood. He took measurements, pointed out various issues and how best to correct them and made suggestions about improving our roof vents and flashing to bring our roof up to current code. Jesse's knowledge, sincerity and enthusiasm immediately sold me on Brown Roofing. A few hours later we received an estimate that outlined every step of the job, the materials that would be used and a detailed cost breakdown. Impressive, to say the least. On our start date a crew of five arrived just after sunrise and immediately got to work. I was impressed by their work ethic, professionalism and ability to play well together -- all signs of an experienced and dependable crew. Jesse showed up early that morning to meet with us and stopped by throughout the day to check on progress and answer our questions. Craig, the company owner, also stopped by to introduce himself and make sure we knew he was closely monitoring the job. We found that very reassuring as reroofing is expensive and we wanted to be absolutely sure the job was done right. The work on our 1,800 sq. ft. single story home was completed in under three days thanks to the hard-working crew. At the end of each day the guys cleaned up all of the debris from our driveway and yard, leaving our place cleaner than it was before work started. The level of detail and expertise that Jesse and his crew brought to the job was outstanding, including pressure washing our driveway to remove the tire tracks left by their haul-away trailer. Not sure how I went from having such a great experience a few years ago to such a bad one. Brown just doesn't seem to want my business. After completing a re-roof a few years back, I called brown to look at a patio roof we skipped at the time. After initially having a lot of trouble even getting in contact ( I emailed Dean multiple times , the person who originally ran my project, but i guess he doesn't work there which is a shame cuz now I realize he was the one who made it such a good experience) - no response from the emails to dean, no auto reply that the email isn't valid or Dean doesn't work there) I sent a yelp message and never got a reply. I work long hours, much longer then this office is open and it's hard for me to call during work, but i never got a response via email or yelp. eventually I was able to connect via phone and set up a time for someone to come out and provide an estimate I was told I would get an email confirmation, I didn't. No reminder or confirmation call the day of, I called the office back to make sure they were still coming. This is really frustrating, I have to shift things around in my household and schedule to accommodate a mid day visit, so at least confirm your gonna be there. I learn the visit is confirmed and someone comes out, looks at the roof, tells my wife "this will be expensive" and we will get an email estimate I wait all day, no estimate. I call the office again the next day and ask when am I going to get an estimate? I hear those aren't prepared for two business days ( would be great if that's what the guy told us) but ok fine. My estimate should have arrived on Monday, now it's Saturday. For a company I previously spent like 15k with, and gave 5 stars on Yelp, I'm shocked how disappointing this experience is and how little it seems they care about my experience as a customer , and a previous customer at that. We had Brown Roofing do repairs to ours and a number of roofs in our HOA community in central Phoenix late last year. We were very pleased with their work. We were so pleased that when it was time for additional repairs, Brown was who we called. They did a great job! GM Jesse came out promptly to do the inspection. Then, that was it. We never received a quote, and we and our management company have contacted Debbie at the Brown office a number of times to receive the quote. This was many many weeks ago, so we started looking for another company. I made one last try, both an email and a call to Debbie and Jesse and was told more than a week ago that Jesse would call me that day. No call then or ever. Debbie did tell me they were so busy they're booked into January 2022. Maybe we could have gotten on that schedule if Jesse or someone there wanted our business? Called to schedule a service appointment for my client. I was told the person scheduling was processing invoices and would call me back to schedule an appointment. No call...I called back and left a message to request a return call, no call yet. Just attempted to call them back and it went to voicemail. Two stars because I did speak to a person and they were pleasent and professional, no more stars because it is not the customers job to hound the business to do work or follow up. Looks like I am moving to the next company on the list. Had high hopes based on numerous reviews. *Update...downgraded to 1 star. After no calls and the message this morning, within 3 minutes of leaving a review Debbie called me, said she was a "little concerned with my review" said she had invoices yesterday and phones were busy today. Interesting that as soon as the review was left I became a priority for her to call. I can't say enough good things about Brown Roofing. No, he was not the lowest quote of my 5 quotes. However, his quote was "all inclusive." The other quotes I received were "contingent on not finding any other problems after the roof was stripped." Craig Brown made me feel comfortable that the price quoted was the price I was going to pay. He took the time to walk me around my home pointing out exactly what he was doing, and was the only roofer who also explained WHY he was doing it (ex. Why he was replacing the whirlybirds with a ridge vent system). His crew arrived on time and got right to work. I was very impressed with the crew. Not only were they efficient in what they were doing, but many times throughout the day they cleaned the worksite, never letting it get messy. Chris, I'm assuming a job supervisor, kept me informed and answered any questions I had, pointing out the work they were doing, such as replacing facia boards and cutting in the new ridge vents. I bought my house in Scottsdale a year ago. The house is 21 years old. I wanted to start planning and budgeting major expenses. I'd seen a number of houses in my community needing new roofs so I though that might be one of the first expenses. The office was able to schedule Craig about 10 days after I called for an inspection. I'm sure if I had a leak he would have been scheduled earlier. But considering the recent heavy rains it was thoroughly understandable that there was a slight delay. When Craig arrived his initial thought was that it might be time because of the average age of houses in that area. H also suggested I get three estimates. He went up checked the roof tile and underlayment in 6 areas, took photos to show me and identified areas that the previous owner had repaired just before I bought the house.
