This is an honest company and James is awesome! I called about leaks in my roof. James was very helpful in inspecting it and determined the source of the leaks. I have solar which made it more complex and he still figured it out. He asked about the prior roofing company and asked if I had paperwork for it. During the purchasing process of our new home in Mesa, the basic property inspection revealed the tile underlayment was original to the house and probably in need of replacement. It was recommended by our realtor to have a complete roof inspection, and he recommended State 48 roofing. Specifically our realtor has worked with Juan and promised we would be pleased with their work and service. Juan arrived at the agreed upon time and did a thorough inspection. He removed tiles in several suspect areas and took videos showing the weathered underlayment, decaying battens, and actual current and potential leak areas. He then provided a quote to repair the damage and/ or in our case, replace the entire underlayment and re-lay the existing tiles. We were presented 3 choices of underlayment quality with varying warranty periods. We were able to agree on a competitive price for the top quality 30 year underlayment and they were able to schedule the work in a timeframe that worked for our schedule. They arrived on the scheduled day, and completed the job in 3 days as promised. The roofing replacement job is huge amount of work. It is very noisy and very messy. Each of the 3 days the crew cleaned up the site completely at days end. When the job was completed, the final cleanup was better than I expected. We are extremely pleased with the new roof. It looks great, was completed on time and at the agreed price. Only time will determine if it is indeed leak free, but having watched the job progress, I am confident it was done properly and will provide many years of service. I can highly recommend Juan and the entire State 48 crew. I trust you will have a similar experience. read more

I meant to write this much earlier than I am currently doing. If I could give more than a 5 star, I would. When I first started getting roofing bids to replace my back porch patio, I ended up getting bids for my house and the patio, as in the long run, this would be less expensive than doing them separately. Got a bunch of bids and learned a great deal in the process about roofing, enough to be dangerous. State 48 came as a recommendation from a long time friend of mine who used to work for one of their competitors. I really loved David coming out to give the quote. He was very informative, giving me choices that I liked. Due to pricing, which was quite a spread, my choice was State 48 if cost was not as issue. But to my husband, they were too expensive. All the bids I got were recommendations with companies family & friends had used that liked, so all the companies were great. State 48 had TONS of great reviews on top of that. I did tell David that my husband is wanting another company because of pricing because all the companies we got bids from we were confident that would do a good job. I told David if he could bridge that gap maybe not 100% but much closer, my husband might consider. David talked with the owner and they lowered their price but still keeping everything the same, so we agreed and a few days later, they were able to redo our roof. It was scheduled for 3 days, but they put their best crew on the job and got it done in 1.5 days. Every person that worked on our roof was very professional and awesome. My husband and I were very impressed. I've probably forgotten some stuff, but Brent was here those days before, during and after to make sure everything was done well. I wanted to wait to write the review after rain, but no rain came until the past couple weeks. No leaks whatsoever. Of course. We're so thankful they were willing to work with us. Would use again, but we got underlayment that was better than what we had, so our roof should be good for at least 2 decades. We'll be scheduling with State 48 to come out annually just to check everything continues to be good, so we can address anything quickly and make the roof last even longer. You guys are awesome!!! Great price, quality work, professionalism, personable, patriotic. Hard workers. Oh, they also picked up all the nails that fell onto the property. Great! The only ones they didn't get were the ones that fell into our A/C unit, so probably if the A/C unit isn't being used, probably putting something over the A/C so the nails and debris doesn't get into the unit. Grateful that we hadn't used the A/C between November and March, and we had our A/C semi-annual maintenance done, and they saw this. read more

I paid for an event that turned out not to exist, (which they gave us in detail the process and we even got a welcoming video) and when I requested a refund, BECAUSE IT WASN'T REAL... they refused. Instead, they offered alternative options that I didn't want or ask for. To make matters worse, their partner convinced us to spend even more money before the truth came out. Now, they've stopped responding entirely. This is no way to run a business--lots of promises, but no follow-through. We recently worked with State 48 to replace my MIL's roof. Our experience was both good and bad, but unfortunately I cannot recommend this company. From the beginning we had a lot of communication issues with this company. There seems to be a lot of confusion between the front desk, contractors and managers. There was definitely some issues with honesty. Stories were often changed and timelines changed. It was frustrating. We did not have a fluid experience with scheduling and work performed. We did however have an excellent experience with Brent. He came out multiple times and was very helpful, unfortunately that wasn't the case with everyone else we spoke to or saw. When the newly replaced roof was still leaking we were very concerned. Our concerns went unheard until the issue was escalated with a private inspector. Fortunately the issues were addressed and resolved. However the initial poor experience for months before the issues were resolved were extremely frustrating and unprofessional. For those reasons, we cannot recommend State 48. read more

Had a roof replaced. It's not cheap, but I feel like the work was solid and the crew and team were professional and worked quickly.

State 48 Roofing has terrible communication across the board. It wasn't just one employee it was four. They don't answer their phones so you leave a message but they don't call you back. You're offered to text them as well so you do but they don't respond to your texts either. Don't go with this company. Look for another company that is customer communication focused and customer satisfaction focused as this one is not. So they need to work on that. Also they need to keep their commitments: Call when you say you'll call and show up when you say you will. Everyone was undependable (except Alejandro, he was their rockstar.) The lack of dependability and communication has been mind-blowing. For example: providing updates, returning phone calls, returning text messages, showing up when you say you will, following up to confirm that my question/issue was addressed/resolved, show up to do a final recap and walk-through! From the sales guy to the in-house project manager to the quality control representative, . After two days working on our roof, once the crew completed the job they left the house. No knock on the door stating they were done, explaining all went well, explaining leftover piles of materials would be left in my yard for pick up for another time, nothing, they just left. After three days I hadn't heard from anybody at the company asking if I had any questions- which I do there's still a hole exposed that needs to be addressed and fixed/filled, if I was pleased with the service, to recap all that was done (it was a big and expensive job), or to explain what happens next annually going forward (something to do with my annual check/warranty, I still don't know). So I contacted the in-house project manager, no surprise she didn't return my message. Contacted the salesman who told me he'd have someone call me. This person never did call me so two days later I got his phone number and called him. Turns out he's the quality control representative and said he was on a roof so couldn't look at his schedule but would call me back later that day to schedule an appointment to come by to check on the job, walk me around/show me everything that was done, and explain our annual visit. It's been two weeks and one day and I still have not heard back from this guy. Working with State 48 Roofing was two and a half months of disappointments and let-downs. Replacing a roof is expensive and it's no fun. It's messy and it's noisy and there are so many different people involved so it can be overwhelming. One would hope the company you are paying thousands of dollars to would do all they could to minimize and alleviate any additional stress and confusion for their paying customer who chose them over numerous other roofing companies. But not this company. The folks representing this company (except Alejandro, their rockstar) couldn't care less. Normally I would say nothing at all or even better, give a commendation. After reading multiple reviews I called State 48 Roofing to tarp two areas of my large roof and provide quote for repairs, and possible entire roof replacement. The monsoon damage was significant, and I was glad to schedule the roof tarping right before the next rains hit. However, after the next round of monsoon rains the roof leaked through again, albeit to a much lesser extent. I called and texted to request someone to come out to check on the tarps, no answer or reply to my texts and voicemails. The restoration company working to repair the wall and floor damage inside had their guys tighten up the tarps. A few days later I finally heard back, and the tarp was checked on by State 48. I should have ended the relationship there. However, we were already scheduled to get a roof replacement quote. A young man came to inspect the roof for the quote. I told him that the other companies providing a quote wanted to see the damage from the inside as the damaged area was covered with a tarp. He agreed that he would need to see how bad the damage is. I asked that he please wear a mask inside the house. He stated that not only does he not wear a mask but then with a large gin added, "and I'm also unvaccinated!" He then said he would just prepare a quote without examining the damage and left. A few days later I received a quote via email. Delete. There was no way I would trust someone with something as trivial and materialistic as my roof when they show complete disregard for the health of my family.
