So my spouse was upset about the cost at the time and now this vet makes it sound as though we did something wrong at the time and will not see any of our fur kids even when they are in need of care now and stop me that I would need to find another vet. It wasn't even me that was upset, not he, we were just shocked at the time and I was surprised but we paid it and I never said a word about it in any hostile tone or action. Somehow, being sticker shocked is now grounds for ignoring the needs of an animal over something that happen three years ago when someone was just upset from the cost at the time but they make seem as though something else happened but that isn't the case. He just walked out, I paid the bill with no hostile words or exchanges so they have decided to hold that against us and forsake the care of the animal in need. We have another vet we use, I was looking to get in sooner somewhere else in order to alleviate the little fella discomfort. Petcare Animal Hospital chooses to disregard the animal's needs for some one who got sticker shock three years ago so they put a note on our account that says: "The situation occurred in March of 2022 when Mr.X was upset about surgery charges for a cat which is the last time we saw you. You will have to find another vet." Who does that? It just says he was upset about charges and yet they won't see an injured animal.

Both my boyfriend and I had to work today, so they let us do a drop off appointment. We dropped them off at 7:30 this morning. I had asked if they knew when they would be done, as I was taking my lunch at 11, and they said there was only one doctor in today, so they couldn't give me an absolute answer. I totally understood that. I waited all day to get a phone call and never got one. 10 minutes before I got off work (3:50 pm) I called to see if they would be ready to pick up at 4. They put me on hold for a few minutes and then said that they had a few emergencies come in and that there was one more appointment and then they would get them done and that I could go ahead and head that way. So I came in at 4:10 to pick them up. I got them home and they were drenched in their own urine and had feces all in their carriers. It looked like they hadn't been taken out of their carriers all day and sounded like they had forgotten they were even there. I am very disappointed in the service I got today and they will not be coming back to this vets office.

They did blood work and x-rays but couldn't find anything wrong with her. Her white blood count was up some and they said she had some kind of calcium in her blood. Charged us a fortune for antibiotic, eye drops, and a pill to simulate her appetite. After the 2nd visit she got no better and we tried to get her in but they were not open so called next day still not open. Husband finally got through on the 9th but they couldn't get her in till the next week. I was at an appointment in Indy and my husband told me this when I stopped for a drink. That was unacceptable to me and I tried to call them but no answer so I called Brown Vet and they let me bring her in on an emergency visit. They felt that her head felt strange and her eye pressure was crazy high. They did x-rays and found my poor baby was rittled with osteosarcoma. We had to put my baby out of her misery. RIP Boo Boo

Vanessa answered and let me tell you from the beginning her customer care was on point. Since I live in Chicago I needed to get more information that typically is not given over the phone. She not only send me via Text while we were taking information about the puppy but also she send me a video about her. She also make sure my brother witch he went to see her get information and full attention From her. This happened Friday by Sunday at 12pm I was already picking up our new dog. Now Vanessa and the 2 manager were all amazing. They not only sell you the puppy but also a whole kit. And they train you in case the puppy won't eat on How syringe feed her. I am truly impressed with the dedication. They all gave me their cell phones so I can text if I have any questions. Which I did and Vanessa was checking up on me if the puppy was eating. I have had another poodle before from a store like this but let me tell you the staff is amazing super friendly dedicated and helpful. First off, we wanted to adopt an older/adult dog (not a puppy) because we know there are so many that have likely been there for a long time, while puppies seem to go in and out pretty quickly because everyone wants a puppy. After asking to see 4-5 different adult dogs and not seeing a single one of them, the staff steered us in the direction of a puppy. It really seemed like they did not want to show us any of the adult dogs. They had a few litters of puppies, and mentioned 2 chiweenie puppies. Kyle has been wanting a weiner dog so we asked to see those two. They brought them both out to us and we fell in love with them! We decided we would apply to adopt one of them (I'm only allowed to have one pet living on campus). We hung out with the puppies and held them for about a half hour, and then filed an application to adopt. While we were hanging around in the lobby with the puppies, a couple came in to pick up a cat they were set to adopt, and a staff member told them that the cat was gone because another family had come and adopted it between the time they applied and Sunday when they had an appointment to pick it up. The couple was completely blindsided by this and was really upset, but went ahead and picked out a different cat. This should have been a red flag to us, looking back. So anyways, we file our application and we were told that they would call us on Tuesday to let us know if we were approved. We were so excited, as soon as we left we went straight to pet smart and looked at the prices on beds, food, puppy pads, harnesses and leashes, toys, etc. to prepare for if we were approved. Well, Tuesday comes and goes and we heard nothing. Wednesday at lunch we still hadn't heard anything, so I called and left a voicemail. The same thing happened on Thursday. Yesterday was pretty crazy for me so it totally slipped my mind to check in on Friday. So, today Kyle drives out to the shelter and when he walked in, the staff member literally said to him, "What do you want?" Kyle explained why he was there, he hadn't heard back after leaving messages, and the staff member said "Uh nope. Not the chiweenies. They're gone." Kyle asked what they meant and they told him that a family had come and adopted both of them this week. They first of all never contacted us to even let us know if we were approved, let alone to inform us that the dog we wanted was gone. We were very excited for this puppy, so of course we're a little sad about it not working out and we can only hope both of them went to a good home, but I'm extremely angry from the lack of communication and professionalism from the staff at the Terre Haute Humane Society. I'm really sad too because I have always been an "adopt, don't shop" type of person which is why we went the route of adopting through a local shelter. However, I don't think Kyle and I will ever support them in the future, which hurts because we know that each and every animal in that shelter deserves better, happier, fuller lives. But this is already the second time in the span of one week that I've witnessed/experiencing this happening. I'm not here to tell you not to adopt from them, because those animals need good homes, but please don't get attached to a specific animal or expect any kind of communication or professionalism from them, or you will be let down.

But, when you OFFER to help and ask someone to foster that animal I do feel like you owe it to that person to inform them of its well being and discuss next best options. I brought "Fleur" the rescue cat to you in good faith DESPITE the multiple negative comments saying "you won't hear back from them" and other slander about your organization because I wanted her to get help quickly! To my pleasant surprise you gave me medicine, I brought her home, kept her comfortable, warm, feed and she continued to improve. Cue the very swollen Paw. Over the weekend Fleurs paw started to swell. I made the THHS aware on Monday and they asked that I bring her in, so I did. By their request and no surprise to me they asked to keep her, I assumed to treat her. They said I'd hear from them in a few days. Tuesday, nothing. Wednesday, left a message and nothing. Thursday, called and nothing. Friday, left a message and finally receive a call back. THHS: Hello this is THHS They asked I call and tell you that she was put down. Me: umm What!!!? Why!? THHS: "Her foot was three times the size it should've been, she was making an awful meow and she lost her appetite. She was in pain and declining." Me: Okay, well I was fostering her don't you think you should have let me know? Or given me the option to get her to a vet? Honestly ... idk what was said after that I was in complete shock and disbelief I do remember the lady saying "You were fostering her for us?" Like it was a question. Point is. I brought this cat to THHS thinking they would give it the help that it needed. If you weren't going to offer her that then you shouldn't have accepted her or should have referred us elsewhere. I was trying to act as quickly as possible to get this cat what she needed and I trusted you to do just that! I would have NEVER left her with you had I known she was going to be euthanized! My dog has terminal cancer for goodness sake and putting him down wasn't even an option for me!!!! I had two separate people offering to pay for this cats vetting bills once they learned of her problems but she never got that opportunity! All they had to do was call me back and I could have taken her! I trusted that THHS would do right by this cat and they certainly did not! Sure, maybe the THHS is full and busy and it's expense to run and the list goes on but it's what you do, it's your business! I'm sure they have done right by other but this really has me thinking.. When they posted the December 2021 impact it looks fantastic right? But, What does your December 2021 impact statement look like for euthanized animals?
