I been looking for a poodle for sometime. My brother that lives in Tere Haute Indiana suggested this place. I google it then I called asking for a specific poodle they had on the website. Vanessa answered and let me tell you from the beginning her customer care was on point. Since I live in Chicago I needed to get more information that typically is not given over the phone. She not only send me via Text while we were taking information about the puppy but also she send me a video about her. She also make sure my brother witch he went to see her get information and full attention From her. This happened Friday by Sunday at 12pm I was already picking up our new dog. Now Vanessa and the 2 manager were all amazing. They not only sell you the puppy but also a whole kit. And they train you in case the puppy won't eat on How syringe feed her. I am truly impressed with the dedication. They all gave me their cell phones so I can text if I have any questions. Which I did and Vanessa was checking up on me if the puppy was eating. I have had another poodle before from a store like this but let me tell you the staff is amazing super friendly dedicated and helpful. I am confident I will be coming back here and recommending everyone that ask. The dog was not cheap but let me tell you the attention the knowledge you get it's worth your peace of mind. read more

We had a wonderful pet buying experience here. Found entire staff to be very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. We worked directly with Megan Ferency and she was a delight. We conversed several times both by email and phone before making our trip to Terre Haute. Found this store to be very clean and cheerful. Many happy customers checking out the wide variety of pets. Employees all seemed very caring, courteous and concerned about the welfare of all concerned. Pricing seemed very reasonable and you get lots of extras. Puppies are already microchipped and vet checked, you even get a free vet visit after purchase which we've already taken advantage of. Out pet is in wonderful health and a complete joy. I asked what they where. He said Finches. OMG those are 500.00 each and you don't know what they are. No one was even watching him with them. Called before I got there said they have 50 dogs. Long time exotics keeper, cockatiels, parakeets, bichir, lungfish, arowana, dart frogs, and others. On the 8th of march I purchased 2 darling parakeets. 14 hours later, about 9am the next morning, one was lifeless. Calling the store I found out that they will not replace a bird if I didn't purchase the full 'cage food vitamins and bird' package. I was not notified of this at the time of purchase, as it sounds scammy; and, have subsequently been unable to arouse any remorse from the staff. A competitors store offered to replace the parakeet for no charge just to be polite. Petland has lost my business. I hope they lose yours too. The over crowded environment, high stock turnover rate, lack of stock variety, and lack of fundamental knowledge around the store should be clear turnoffs. read more

Was shopping for my nieces dog and seen a puppy that caught my eye. With my wife's birthday and Christmas coming up I took her to see what I thought was an English Bulldog. Noticed shortly after her playing with it the dogs head was shaped a little different than most I've seen and one I had years ago. Come to find out it was a beagle bulldog mix and they were asking 3500 for the dog. Not sure who comes up with these prices but they should have the animals kennel information available and more realistic pricing for these dogs. 3500 is a champion sired show quality dog from a reputable breeder. I called about some dogs I was interested in. I am an almost 4 hour drive and don't want to go without information. ie....pricing and dog information. These people will only tell you what they come with. Yes I already know $1500 of added expenses such as vaccinations, puppy training classes and so on. On top of that crate, toys and unnecessary things to take home. So they pay $300 for the puppy but charge about $3500. Ridiculous!!!! No way I'm driving to check you out! read more

About three months ago I bought a green tree frog from pet land and it just died. From the beginning of buying my frog he was constipated and incredibly sick, the people at Petland kept him in horrible conditions and an incredibly small container with about a dozen crickets on the inside(I wonder why he was constipated) and without much heating at all. With lots of attention we nursed him back to health, changing heating and bedding and also putting him in a completely different enclosure, and finally Exodus was nursed back to health(that was his name). Exodus was finally happy and healthy, hopping around eating a great amount of crickets and comfortable. About a week before his death my girlfriend and I bought ten crickets from Petland( we never buy crickets from Petland for cost and distance reasons), and after feeding him all the crickets over about a course of a week he developed what I believe was edema, he was bloated and very lethargic and clearly dying. The cause of Exodus' death was the 10 crickets we bought from Petland, after feeding exodus the crickets we noticed mites in his cage and he was clearly getting deathly sick. With a combination of poor conditions of animals, horrendous customer service and pricing that is well above average this review is well deserved. Please for the love of the animals that we all love DO NOT buy from pet land Terre Haute. read more
