Planning a return trip to Taos; My last visit was sixty three years ago, we needed a place to stay. I mistakenly called a B&B in Santa Fe who then recommended Dream Catcher. Our very first foray into B&B lodging was , to say the least, thououghly enjoyable. The separate units are quaint, cozy and well equipped. We lacked for nothing. The breakfasts are outstanding as is the service. If you go there, I recommend that at breakfast, sit at the long table. We did both mornings and had lively conversations with other travelers. that made our breakfasts even more memorable. I highly recommend Dream Catscher as the place to stay in Taos. read more

This place is awful fot the price. The neighborhood is terrible. Lot next to Dreamcatcher is garbage literally. Looking for nice walks ? Forget it. Dead cats, some neighboring lots run down, stray dogs . Terrible neighborhood. Rooms are TINY. Huge disappointment. Never again and will tell everyone. $420 for 2 nights. Following up with pictures. My back yard is nicer than this place. Save your money. Breakfast included? A joke - only for 30 minutes. Was really looking forward to this getaway and this is crap. Literally. Room was very cozy and thoughtfully done. Very clean. Bed was comfy. Fireplace was so nice with supplied wood. Fresh cookies and a hand written welcome note on bed stand, very nice touch! Lots of blankets and pillows. All day coffee and tea is nice all day! Breakfast was served at 8:30. Very good. Only con was breakfast host was not friendly at all, barely spoke! Not quite bed and breakfast appropriate. Next day 8:35 coffee was not even out ( they remove Krieg for pot in AM). Breakfast took awhile would have been ok with coffee, no cocoa offered. This host was a little more pleasant! Breakfast was not great. Same offering as day before (not common in B&B), but frittata was rather flat and over abundance of green chiles. Coffee pot was emptied quickly and not refilled. So we left without a refill of coffee. Definitely has gone downhill. Read less read more

Multiple problems in "Katchina" room: No soap in the bathroom and no kleenex. The room has a serious beetle problem, dozens of them crawling on the walls, floors and window sills. The mini-fridge froze all the food I lost all my groceries. The TV and Wireless during my two day stay did not work, and the lighting in the room was so dim that I could not read. The Inn advertised the there was daily housekeeping but no one came to service the rooms. This is a sub-standard lodging that falsely advertises. It is poorly managed and provides very poor hospitality. I wrote TWO very nice emails to the management about the problems but they never responded, they just took my money. read more

Such a great stay in the town of Taos. Breakfast quickly became our favorite part of our stay. Julia prepares it every morning with love. It is made with great ingredients and fresh. She even mentioned how much thought goes into choosing the ingredients. SHE made the entire experience. She is the definition of excellent customer service. We were without a car and Taos stopped doing public transportation this year. We had no idea but she saved our entire trip by offering any help she could. She helped us call for rides and even offered a ride herself. We were here to ski and she stopped what she was doing so we didn't have to miss a day on the mountain. Two things I can say about our experience. 1) make sure to rent a car when staying in Taos. 2) Julia made me believe there are still great people in the world. Thank you so much Julia!!! So first off this B&B is so nice! Our suite had TV's, coffee machine and the best robes! The place is small but that is the charm to it! The fire pit is amazing for star gazing at night and the hammocks were so comfortable. The best part about our stay was Julia!! She is the most hospitable host. From the start of the day, Julia prepares a homemade breakfast (and I mean everything down to the bread!!) which started our day off at a 100. She is constantly looking out for the guests here and asking if they need anything. She even gave my friend and I a ride to the ski valley whenever we didn't plan ahead correctly. BTW there are no Ubers in Taos and the shuttles are shut down from Taos to the ski valley!! Julia quickly turned what could've been a bad experience into a great one and made our trip a memorable experience. I recommend staying here 1000%!! All the love to Julia :) read more

Wonderful in all ways! Unique local "tri-culture" Native American/Mexican/SW US decor. Rooms have all one could want, from the simple to the sophisticated: adobe fireplace, extra chapstick, great hand lotion, in room Keurig... to Amazon Fire TV and adequate wifi for a "working vacation". Common and breakfast areas are comfortable and replete w/ snacks: homemade cookies, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, M & M jar; local wares: Native America soaps and paintings, assorted sundries so we had no need to run to the local grocery or drugstore; and enough chairs and couches to read plenty of info on the unique sights in the local area. And the breakfasts; incredible! Started off w/ a cup of stone-cut oatmeal w/ craisins topped w/ a brown sugar crust, followed by a sausage-egg-cheese souffle topped w/ a tomato/salsa, accompanied by a blue flour corn muffin, fruit bowl and petite pastry. One in our party was Vegan and they accommodated her superbly at the last minute too! Only 30 min. from Taos Ski Valley, 90 min from Sante Fe; a MUST for anyone traveling in Northern New Mexico! I had a terrible experience with Dreamcatcher. My husband was rushed to the hospital six days before our reservation for the hotel. I called the hotel to try and reschedule and they told me they're cancellation policy was seven days before hand with no exception I was not looking for a refund I was just looking to reschedule. I've never come across such a harsh Reservation policy especially around a medical emergency. They were completely unwilling to make an exception and charged me the full fee of my stay and then put the room back up online to rent. They seem very cold, and unwilling to make an exception. Be aware of their cancellation policy .I've traveled my whole life, and this seemed rather extreme, especially under the circumstances. No heart ! Cold people!! read more

What a fantastic surprise. After driving through Taos, we were unsure what we had gotten ourselves into! We pulled into the parking area and were instantly happy. We checked in, met the owner and were shown to our room, which was rustic but comfortable. Our hostess was friendly, talkative and eager to please. Breakfast came with the room and it was cooked by the owner, very filling and delicious. This was the best part of our visit to Taos, a great place to rest before continuing our trip. read more

My friend and I planned a short getaway at Dreamcatcher...it was awesome! Centrally located, adorable rooms and decor, cozy, welcoming. I use a manual wheelchair, and the Storyteller room was perfect for me. The gravel driveway was a little challenging, but the owners were very helpful and allowed me to park closer. They also had a temporary ramp they put up so I could get into the main breakfast area, but they also were happy to serve us breakfast in the delightful courtyard! And the breakfast was AMAZING!! Stayed in Gecko's Garden room for 3 nights in the winter with my girlfriend. The room was roomy, clean, and whimsically decorated with geckos and gecko-y trappings, with a nice big comfy king bed. The sheets were noticeably buttery smooth as well. Ate breakfast and met the other guests, the innkeepers, and the greeter dog (who judiciously stopped by before and after breakfast - not during) - all of whom were excellent company. The food was just delicious! each morning started with brûléed oatmeal, featured a main dish that changed each day (green chili egg soufflé, strawberry-pecan waffles and local sausage, and a salmon caper benedict if I remember right, one dish per night), a bowl of fresh fruit, a tiny dessert bite, and endless piñon (New-Mexican pine nut) coffee. I prefer staying different, new places when I travel, but I'd go out of my way to return here for the comfortable rooms and delicious breakfast. Highly recommend staying here! read more

Great compound setup around a very shaded central garden, located near enough the fringe of town the you hear sheep yet an easy walk to the center, although the general lack of sidewalks in town is a bit annoying. Luxurious, clean, very quiet and with special touches. Innkeeper Mary Beth is gracious, warm and welcoming and quite the wonderful hostess. She hosted a hot and delicious breakfast for us that started with an oatmeal 'creme brulee' thing that is insanely good. She offered great referrals to local restaurants and attractions and was genuinely engaging - you can tell this bed and breakfast is Mary Beth's passion. So, book your room. Enjoy your stay. The owner, Mary Beth, was the best part about staying at Dreamcatcher BnB. She was extremely friendly and eager to help in any way possible. Despite us visiting during mandated social distancing, Mary Beth was still able to make us feel right at home. I have several food allergies so Mary Beth happily made me custom breakfasts during our stay. My husband and I were also there celebrating my birthday and were surprised by a complimentary bottle of local wine. Great location. Walking distance to the plaza. During our recent trip we stayed one night here. Mary Beth was a friendly, thoughtful and accommodating host and offered helpful information on restaurants and interesting places to visit in the Taos area. She even went "over and above" by offering my wife her portable message unit to help with her shoulder pain. Our room was clean, had a comfortable king bed and A/C. Well, SECRET IS OUT! This review may upset some folks who were trying to hide this gem of a find... but... I think this wonderful b&b deserves the utmost review. My partner booked us a room during Covid for my 30th birthday celebration. The room was adorable, king sized bed, air conditioning, AND a personal fire place with real wood. The owner is such a gem and her dog Mickey is so stinking cute! They are so friendly and inviting. Lots of Covid safety being practiced. The place attracts very respectful and friendly visitors. For our first visit to Taos, I cannot imagine a more wonderful place to stay nearby the downtown. But, drumroll please, the breakfast was out of this world. They served up a three course spread that was to die for, better than any breakfast I've had in a restaurant in years! Orange juice, nm piñon coffee, this oatmeal brûlée that I am now obsessed with, Belgian waffles, loads of fruit, and vegetarian patties (she asked us if we had any dietary preferences on arrival, the bf got regular sausage). Overall an 11/10. I hope we will be back!!!! read more

We just spent two nights at the Dreamcatcher Bed and Breakfast and had a wonderful stay. The Storyteller casita was clean and had everything that we needed. The bed was very comfortable and we had nice hot showers. Though the room was nice, the breakfasts were fabulous and a highlight of our trip to New Mexico. The first morning we were served a vegetable frittata , bacon, fresh fruit and a lemon mini tart. A wonderful start to our day of sight seeing. The next morning we had waffle with warm maple syrup and pecans, bacon, fresh fruit and a mini lemon tart. The owners and inn staff were friendly, helpful and accommodating to other visitors specific issues. The inn is about a 10-15 minute walk to Taos Plaza. Would highly recommend this B&B read more

This is a wonderful little bed and breakfast. It's out of the way, quiet, and beautifully decorated. Each room - or rather casita - has its own layout with a fireplace, exposed wood beams, and local art. We found some locally made soaps in our bathrooms. Outside is a hot tub and fire pit surrounded by a shaded garden. The owner seemed to know every restaurant and attraction in Taos, and gave us several good recommendations and a delicious breakfast. Wow, am I really the first Yelper to write a review of this place? This was absolutely the BEST part about our recent trip to Taos! We have stayed in lots of B&B's over the years, and Dreamcatcher was absolutely lovely. Jill and Bob know how to run a B&B! The room was very comfortable, great bedding, fridge in the room, a little tube of lip balm, all sorts of nice little hospitable touches. Breakfast was delicious and very filling each morning. But best of all is the beautifully designed garden courtyard---this is the picture of serenity, and I truly felt like I was on a retreat. We tried hard not to overbook our days with other Taos sightseeing, because we wanted to be sure to have a few hours just to hang out in this beautiful garden and rejuvenate. read more

We were looking for an inexpensive place where we could get a separate room for our pre-teen daughter, this was the way to go. Our rooms were connected by a hallway but separate, spacious and really comfortable, in fact our daughter raved about it the next day. The decor is lively, the courtyard is inviting and the front office is a perfect place to plan your adventure around arguably the perty-est country in the state. Spend an evening walking the Taos plaza, check out some local artists, ditch fine dining for some down home grub, catch some music and then wander back down the short walk to this inviting Bed and Breakfast. In the morning over breakfast don't be shy, ask for recommendations on what's new. These people are accommodating and they'll give you an experience you won't forget. read more

This B&B is under new management/ownership. I didn't have the opportunity to stay there under the previous owners, but I can say they left the place in very, very good hands. This is a beautiful property in a quiet residential neighborhood. It is a nice, but not long, walk from the Plaza (the center of touring activity in Taos), close enough to be convenient but far enough to be off the beaten track. The owners, Purdy and John, literally do everything they can to not only make your stay what you signed up for, but they truly go beyond the call to make the experience just like staying with old friends in their big comfortable home. I stayed in the 2-bedroom suite, the Dreamcatcher suite, which had very comfortable beds, a beautiful bathroom, color TV hooked up to satellite service, and fast, fast wireless Internet. This was one stop in a 10 day excursion in northern New Mexico, and this was as nice a place as I encountered. Further, owing to an unanticipated change in plans I had to make a last-minute change in my reservations, they helped me with that cheerfully and without complaint. They stayed open late to accommodate my late arrival, and they helped me get some breakfast to my companion who chose to sleep-in past breakfast time one morning during our stay. Those who know the area know there's nothing better than having friends with a place in Taos with room for guests. Well, you have them.
