Really disappointing experience with Brownells. They had a firearm listed for sale which I ordered. The description was clear and the picture was clear as well. After waiting five weeks to receive it, it was the wrong model. They admit that the description was wrong. Now I've already gone through the background check, so returning it is a real hassle. I asked them if they could contact the manufacturer to swap out the incorrect part, and I received a response saying that I could return it if I wanted. Never even answered my question. No effort made whatsoever. Really unfortunate. read more

Brownells changed the delivery date of my package five different times over a three week period. Customer service told me once a package is shipped by Brownells it is the customers responsibility to locate the package and make sure it is properly delivered. Brownells customer service lied to me twice when they told me a supervisor would contact me, they never called. I unsubscribed to Brownells website eight times but they refuse to remove my email address. I contacted Brownells customer service again and requested to be removed, but they lied again still not removed. Brownells has absolutely no customer service, they may have good sale prices but the headaches you will experience are not worth the trouble. I've been building my AR and modding my Glock for years now. I order parts here or there and sometimes find stuff in stores. Recently, my uncle told me I should check out Brownells. Ended up ordering a bunch of stuff online including a trigger for my AR and a Guide Rod/Spring for my Glock. Turns out I ordered just the rod with no spring let alone one with an attached spring. I filled out their exchange form that came with my items and dropped it back in the mail. Just received an email giving me a credit followed by another email saying they were shipping my new item. Great customer service! Not even getting charged shipping for my eff up! Will be ordering from them again! read more

The only issue I have with this company is that I'm no millionaire. NOT that you need to be to shop here, their prices are very good! But the inventory is encyclopedic! Placed a special order for a buttstock back in late January. Finally received it around last month and the agonizing wait was finally over. E-mails can take a while to be responded to, but they do get back to you. Commmunication is awesome and so is the customer service. Great company! I'd definitely order from them again! Amount charged to credit card depicted gift card and veterans discount, just as requested. This all happened even AFTER the previous employee who was handling my special got transferred to another department. Great job to all, and thanks again!! First and only experience with them, I ordered from them a larger item and then a smaller item. They ended up cancelling the large item and still shipping out my small item that was pretty much the cost of shipping. Customer service was absolutely worthless. They have really gone down hill recently. Used to be a great company with quality products. My one star review is because they refused to post my negitive review of one of their products and when I tried to answer a question that their "expert" had misinformed with his answer, it was not posted. So you can't believe reviews when they won't allow negitive ones and you can't believe their answers when they have lied to you. Don't pay extra for shipping. I paid 20 bucks extra for 2 day shipping on a Wednesday. I was then informed that it would not come until the following Monday. That's 5 days not 2 if my math is right. When I inquired to fed ex it's because Brownells didn't mark it for Saturday delivery. I need the part before Monday and when I called Friday they said for an additional 50 bucks they would overnight one to me. Would not buy anything if you need it in a timely fashion. Where to begin.. I buy more ammo from Brownell's than any other online-seller. Their prices and selection are great. There are never shipping delays, and I always get what I pay for. ONCE Brownell's downsized an order on me. I had ordered 5 boxes of ammo, and after confirming the order, they realized they only had 1 box. So that's that they shipped, and of course they only charged me for 1. But I didn't want only 1. It wasn't worth it to me to place that small an order. So I told Brownell's I didn't want it. So they RECALLED the box of ammo after it had already been shipped, and refunded me for the cost of shipping and the ammo itself. In my mind, that's great customer service. read more

When speaking with customer service, they told me the item is now on backorder and there is nothing they could do. They made no attempt to right their mistake. The absolute worst experience I have ever received from a gun dealer I ordered parts for a build on a gun on May 31st it is now June 7 with estimated shipping 3-5 days I have missed a deadline for this build called to get tracking info from them they told me I would have to spend over an hour and a half of my time because they could not be bothered to do so. I called again yesterday was promised a call back which never came. Spoke with a supervisor. Who offered a return label which I would have to wait for then ship it back and wait for a refund. I asked for some kind of compensation and said it would be below there cost. So I can lose money but they can't. Just to let you know Cabellas will match there prices go there. Very disappointed in customer service. I had ordered $304.18 worth of items and paused for them. The original order wasn't delivered so I called and let them know and I was sent a replacement order which I receive. about a week goes by and I got my original order. So I called to pay for my second order and they said it will be processed. so about two weeks go by and I get a call saying I haven't paid for my items and I gave them a card number to pay them another two weeks goes by and there's nothing, I checked my bank one day and they had refunded me $304.18 which was weird but ok. then another week goes by and I get two notifications that they charged me 609.32 on my credit card and my debit card so a total of $1218.64! So I immediately called and was put on hold for one hour and I was told that it's because I didn't pay for my original order and I owed them $609.18 ok weird so I gave them the bank statements saying that on October 26 they took 304.18 from my account so they lied. I was told i would get a call from the financial department and I never did they made no effort to help me and they never gave me a clear answer or anything so I reported to my banks that the charges are fraud and unauthorized. once I did that, I immediately received a phone call saying that my payment to them could not and then from there, they have yet to turn any of my phone calls, very unpleased from the situation I have experience, I will never buy from them again very disappointing servic. read more

They will be sweet and all that before or after or after you order products from them and when the item got lost or stolen they act like they got no power to do the refunds. They have been telling me the refund is still on going and its been more than 2 months. Whenever I call them they says I have to contact the claim department and say its only through email. Always were real happy with Brownells, until my last purchase. First they sent me the wrong shotgun stock, then supposedly refunded me with some sort of instore credit, minus shipping and handling, even tho it was their mistake to begin with. Then whenever I try to use the instore credit on more purchases, I get a message that says, invalid. No response to continuous emails to support. Will be reporting to the Better Business Bureau next. Order a BRN-180 upper. Received the upper and went to rack the slide, when my finger was sliced by a piece of metal sticking out of the upper. No big deal. Contacted customer service for about a month until I received a response to file the upper and buy another product to make the color match. Obviously quality control is a concern of mine since Brownells sees no issues with the external quality and tells me to but another product and fix it myself, then I don't trust the internal quality or their standards. The equivalent of buying a used gun where the manufacturer warranty is obsolete, but on a brand new $800 part. Returned the upper and bought it elsewhere. Received zero reply from Brownells and have been waiting over a month for a return. There are tons of other places to go to where I know they'll at least try to make it right. read more

Made an order of an in-stock item and received an email confirmation (with item still in-stock at that time) advising that I'd receive another email later with shipping info once shipped. This evening I checked my order status online and it says that the in-stock item was cancelled due to lack of inventory but my $3 charge for "shipping protection" was still processed and shows on my card. In 2020 how does such a large company lack the ability to have real-time inventory of their products and disappoint so many customers? Stay away! I am a new customer. However, when I was placing my first order online I was not able to use "First Time Buyer" NBM code to get $10 off and free shipping on my order. I have chatted with Brownells CSR "Joshua" and he refused to proceed my request. He said that $10 off and free shipping promo is not applicable to Glock products. However, the ad that I received through email does not say anything about any exclusions. Therefore it looks like Brownells is practicing false advertisement. This company is a clear case of them not understanding how to improve their identity on the internet. They have terrible customer relations their website looks like a catalog from the 1980s. This business isn't worth your money. Never try to cancel or change an order, it wont work and they will ensure that you do not get what you want. It's almost weird I call to cancel an order and it went from processing to shipped during the call. Then two hours later I receive an email confirming the order in the first place, not a shipping notification. Ordered 2 items at $48 total and the items were damaged in shipment by FEDEX. I sent in the photos as requested. Customer service explained that company policy is to wait for the claims process (30 days) unless shipping protection was purchased. FEDEX automatically covers $100, so why would a customer pay for protection if the package is less than $100? They chose the shipper, not me. This policy is unethical at best and displays horrendously poor customer service. A good company would issue an RMA and ship out new product. I'll never purchase from Brownell's again. read more

Long story short the items arrived 2 days later and every rep I spoke with made every excuse in the world as to why they weren't at fault. This place has great stock and has a very liberal return policy. Pretty much a lifetime warranty on stuff you buy from them. The reason they get 3 stars instead of 5 is because of the slow shipping. FedEx smart post is the worse shipping option I have ever seen. My order sat in Phoenix for 3 days before it was given to the post office for final delivery.
